Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Mark of athena
[edit]Hello SupernovaExplosion. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Mark of athena to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question - there is certainly promotional intent, but WP:CSD#G11 is for actual promotional language and this is quite neutrally written. [edit]Hi SupernovaExplosion, thanks for reviewing my DYK, it ran this morning :) I read your article A Free Ride and suspect that you typed the Google Books references by hand. WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
[edit]Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Nomination of Sexuality of Osama bin Laden for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sexuality of Osama bin Laden is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sexuality of Osama bin Laden until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Nick-D (talk) 10:24, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- In case you're wondering, my nomination of this article for deletion isn't at all related to your FAC (which is a good article on a clearly notable topic). I just don't think that this is a viable topic for an article. Nick-D (talk) 10:24, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- Well, it looks like this one may not be kept, but that was sure a good read--thanks for writing it! In the old days that would have been kept, before the hammer came down on the WP:ARS, alas. But actually, what I came here to say was, since people have raised concerns about whether A Free Ride meets 1B/1C, there are a few people who review if articles have examined all the sources. In the past, I've seen Laser brain and Sasata active with that. You might want to ping them to see if they could weigh in about comprehensiveness. Mark Arsten (talk) 01:43, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice! I have left notes on their talk pages. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 03:55, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Ah well, worth a try! Perhaps you could write an article on Views of pornography in Islam or something?♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:48, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Pornography, as we know it today, did not exist when the Quran was written. So it can be assumed there is nothing written about pornography in the Quran. If any source is found on this topic, that can be added in Islamic sexual jurisprudence. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 10:13, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
IP block exempt

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

Your new articles
[edit]I saw that you have been creating a lot of articles. They all are stubs. (I think that it is for autopatrolled).
When you put {{stub}} please add something else also to the stub, for e.g., {{sex-stub}} to them. It will make for new page patrollers easy to patroll them and will help few experinced editors to develope the articles as when you add {{sex-stub}} to them, it will automatically add their name in Wiki Project Sex from which a advance editor can wikify your article.
Please follow my advice. Thank you and Happy editing! Yasht101 :) 12:17, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Jesse Washington
[edit]Hey SupernovaExplosion, I saw a post on the reference desk a week or so ago in which you linked to Lynching of Jesse Washington. I decided to start working on the article, really an unbelievably gruesome event. Mark Arsten (talk) 04:23, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, well done! I could join as well. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 04:36, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- I added some more images, what do you think of the placement of them? I couldn't decide what to put next to the lead and a couple were much larger than the others so it was a bit tricky. Again, these are pretty rough to look at. Mark Arsten (talk) 02:52, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- I think the images are fine. I have added the longer image to the lead because the small image in the later section fits perfectly according to the size. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 03:02, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess that works. The one in the lead now is probably the least gory of the three we have of him. I think that was relatively early in the lynching, it looks like his feet are still attached. He might have been dead by then though, I think his knees and elbows are bent because the fire causes the tendons to shrink or contract or something. The frontal view of him hanging is pretty gross, I think you can see the bones where his flesh melted off. In the picture of the crowd from above he's probably still alive though, the image isn't too good but you can just make him out at the base of the tree. Ok, enough gore for one night. On a much MUCH lighter note, have you ever wondered who makes the Queen's bra? Mark Arsten (talk) 03:51, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, royal brassiere! That's a very interesting article. Why did not you nominate it for DYK? --SupernovaExplosion Talk 03:55, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- I will, probably in the next day or two, didn't want to bother with the review and everything tonight. There are a lot of good hooks I could come up with too, will be hard to decide. Mark Arsten (talk) 04:06, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Yeah...? in what way?(Lihaas (talk) 10:53, 3 May 2012 (UTC)).
- Libertarian and anarcho-capitalist are very related, just different degrees of it. Nationalist/anti-globalised are related too BUT there are degrees of it. In the current agenda that is NOT a free market it doesnt make sense. It has to be mutual, not dominated by certain hypocritical players for "free markets" while subsidising for domestic politics and calling for free trade pacts elsewhere. When its truly set then there would be no need for the apparent/alleged hypocrisy. India and Pakistan were the same 60 years ago, as you know, and lots of people (particularly in the west) trace heritage to both sides. Libertarian/Lib-dem should fit in per the above. Theres plenty of overlap between classical liberal thought and the anarcho-primitivist ideal. I see fascist is more dodgy, but i dint mean it the european way whatoever. It was in support of the Pride of Asia fighting back against the imperialists (granted they were not just in manchuria and philippines...but where im from there was support aplenty (furthermore the puppet regime of Japan today is hardly anything Asian to be proud of...not much of the age old culture left with high-suicide rates and war mongering on intl issues; not to mention the anniversary of Hiroshima in 2010 that for the first time had the only state terrorists who used nuclear weapons (while trying to lecture others of the dangers of using it (HA!)) to attend the memorial.)good you asked at least though ;)(Lihaas (talk) 14:20, 3 May 2012 (UTC)).

A special gift
[edit]for a special review | |
Hi SE, thanks a lot for the review at the recent (successful) FAC for 1740 Batavia massacre. Really hoping we can bring A Free Ride there soon. In thanks, I'm giving you a collectible kris. The blade is iron with gold leaf and it has a twin naga design. Hopefully you don't have one yet! Crisco 1492 (talk) 14:07, 6 May 2012 (UTC) |

Asexuality as a main sexual orientation
[edit]SupernovaExplosion, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sexology and sexuality#Asexuality as a main sexual orientation about the validity of User:Pass a Method adding that asexuality is "a main category of sexual orientation" to the Heterosexuality, Homosexuality and Bisexuality articles. Obviously, comments on the matter are needed. Flyer22 (talk) 14:20, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- I noticed that you removed your comment. If you read about the issue at the Asexuality article, you should be able to see what I mean. Or even at Template talk:Sexual orientation, where the matter was previously discussed. There is no authoritative, reliable source saying that asexuality is a sexual orientation in the same vein as the other three. There's no authoritative, reliable source calling asexuality a sexual orientation at all. It's called a sexual orientation by some researchers, and of course by AVEN, but it is a long way from being accepted as one by the majority of the scientific community. If it were accepted, there would be no extensive debate about it; for example, one part of the debate surrounds the fact that an asexual can be heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual, since sexual orientation is also about romantic attraction and most asexuals do have romantic relationships. Flyer22 (talk) 14:49, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have commented on the project talk page. --NGC 2736 (talk) 00:55, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Traffic collision in India
[edit]On 8 May 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Traffic collision in India, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that India has the highest frequency of traffic collisions in the world, with frequency of accidents in its capital New Delhi being 40 times more than in London? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Traffic collision in India. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. - Great article there. I'll never forget the first time I experienced Indian traffic, a taxi ride I took from the Indira Gandhi airport to a hotel in Connaught Place. It really was a mind-blowing experience, and I hadn't slept in 36 or so hours on top of that. Mark Arsten (talk) 04:04, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

- Having seen Indonesian traffic, I doubt much could surprise me. In Jakarta, a 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) trip could take 2 or 3 hours. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 04:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, similar to India. --NGC 2736 (talk) 05:22, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- lol, oh the humanity. Mark Arsten (talk) 05:59, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
