I've been working on the New Cutie Honey series article. Back in 2007 I noticed a Yahoo auction (now gone) for "OVA GALS '95", which had pictures and drawings from (and notes on) various OVAs, including "新・キューティーハニー Vol. 3" (the fifth and sixth episodes of that series I believe). It had the lead character Honey (or at least her chest :P), and its title in huge English letters on the cover. Not long ago, I saw this page that says it was a supplement/appendix to the July 1995 Animage.
I then saw the magazine list, where you are listed as an owner of that and other '95 Animages. If you do have it (or just the supplement), I would appreciate any Honey-related notes (dates, info, etc.) it has. I still have the three blurry pictures from the auction's page (I didn't save the page itself), so I can send those if they can help to find the supplement. The Honey article is big but still missing some things (Laserdisc release dates and such)--any help is good help! --anoddname06:43, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, it looks like there isn't any Cutey Honey info in the magazine itself. I don't have the furoku (insert). Sorry. Keep an eye on this page to see if anything turns up in any magazines people have. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe02:42, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Wondering if you could find info on Iron Wok Jan from Newtype USA, August 2003 (Volume 2 Number 8) for me. Thanks and take your time as I'm assuming your still busy from your move. Extremepro (talk) 10:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
I know it's a bit of task, but I was wondering if you had any useful information in your book reference library for YuYu Hakusho. I've been making improvements to the article and need some print material for citations. ~ Hibana (talk) 20:27, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Apparently I have two magazines which contain information which may be useful. There's also a review in The Complete Guide to Manga (Jason Thompson, ISBN978-0-345-48590-8, pp.405, 407-408). I'll scan it and post the link here. I'll also look for others. You may try searching for reviews online, too, as the show was released in North America and likely was reviewed by a large number of people. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe21:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
I would certainly appreciate it. There are still a few reviews (Anime News Network and Newtype USA) that I can use in the reception, but I need some more information for the other sections. ~ Hibana (talk) 19:01, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey. I've started doing some work on Mars, and was wondering if Dreamland Japan: Writings on Modern Manga, Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comic, or Manga! Manga! The World of Japanese Comics had anything on the series? -- AnmaFinotera (talk·contribs) 17:07, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Reminding as requested :-) On an unrelated note, I noticed you work in the changing username area a lot. I'm thinking about changing my username, but with the number of edits I have, I'm concerned about timing it so that I will be able to quickly reregister and lock my current name to prevent impersonation. Do you have any suggestions on how best to do that? I'm guessing with the number of edits I have, such a request will take quite awhile to process? -- AnmaFinotera (talk·contribs) 14:15, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes. it will likely take a while, maybe a day or more to get all your edits reattributed to the new username. If someone did register your old username in the meantime, we could take care of that. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe18:34, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I was able to search through the three books using Google books and Amazon's "look inside"...if the results are accurate, it looks like the series isn't mentioned in any of them. Thanks anyway :-) -- AnmaFinotera (talk·contribs) 18:40, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Yup, I just checked them myself and there isn't anything. I also checked the 500 Manga Heroes & Villains and Manga: Masters of the Art books, and didn't see anything there, either. Sorry. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe19:12, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Hello Nihonjoe. It depends on how much the shipping of those magazines will cost. Do you have a ball park figure in US$? And how many of each magazine do you have? Around what time period did you subscribe to them? -sesuPRIME19:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't have a ballpark cost for shipping as it will likely depend on where I'm shipping them. There are around 20 PSMs, 10 or so OPM, maybe 5 EGM, and one Nintendo Power. I don't have exact numbers as they are located someplace else. I may have additional ones around here, too. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe20:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
If Sesuprime ends up not wanting them, I'm interested. I already have a number of those magazines, but am always looking to fill in the holes though. Would it be possible to get a full listing of the issues? Shoot me an email if you can. (Guyinblack25talk21:35, 2 July 2009 (UTC))
Sure, but it will be a bit (a week or two) as I'm in the middle of moving. I'm looking to get rid of them in a lot, though, not piecemeal. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe22:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough. I guess it depends on how many of the issues I already have. Just shoot me an email whenever you have the info. If I don't receive one, I'll assume Sesu got them. (Guyinblack25talk00:44, 3 July 2009 (UTC))
I know I have some other NPs somewhere around if you want them. I just haven't gotten to them yet in clearing everything out of this place. :) ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe07:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, here's a list of some of them (there will be more listed as I find them):
NP: volumes 183-189, 191-192
PSM: volumes 3, 6, 8, 10-11, 13, 35-40, 42-66, 68-83, 85-92, 94-99, 101-105, 107-108, 110-116, 118-120, 124-129 (110 includes a lenticular image on a large card with a scene from Pursuit Force, 2 copies of #8)
OPM: volumes 1, 67-73-75, 77-79, 81-89, 90, 92-94, 97-106, 108-109, 111-112 (last issue) (most of them have the discs, 2 copies each of 76-77 and 79, some may have my address cut out of the cover)
Official Dreamcast Magazine: volumes 3-11
Again, I'll list more as I find them (including the stack I mentioned originally, which is different than the issues listed above). ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe21:27, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the listing. I'll compare it against my collection when I get home. May take me a while though because I have most of them boxed up. (Guyinblack25talk17:34, 7 July 2009 (UTC))
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have most of the ones you listed, so if Sesu doesn't want them I'll take them. I'll figure out something to do with any repeats. Email me whenever you get a chance so we can work out the shipping details. (Guyinblack25talk15:33, 13 July 2009 (UTC))
Just following up on this. Times are starting to get tough, but it looks like I may have a window when I can freely spend money. Let me know if and when you're still up for shipping the magazines. I'm not too concerned with the issues any more. I don't have most of the ones you listed above. (Guyinblack25talk22:13, 5 December 2009 (UTC))
Hi Nihonjoe! Sorry about resurrecting a really old discussion of ours, but I started working on the Le Chevalier D'Eon article again, and I need some more information about the series' novelization. I found zilch about the novel in my online research, so I thought I'd have better luck with that issue. :-/ Does the it say anything more about the novel (like release date, publisher/s, no. of pages, etc.)? And does it say if anime was based on the novel? Thanks, and sorry for the trouble! None of the public libraries that I have access to carry the magazine. :| --SilentAriatalk10:09, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll have to look up the article again. It may be a little over a week, though, as I'm busy with some other things right now that may take my time. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe18:27, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
In any of the magazines you have, does it mention anywhere the date that members of CLAMP left the group? If any of the magazines you have does, then could you put the references to them on the article about clamp? It would help alot. Thanks for the trouble. AngelFire3423 (talk) 15:51, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Any chance of nabbing the Newtype USA, September 2003 (Volume 2 Number 9) article on Sailor Moon, please? I believe it may have the ratings for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, but I'm still interested in it even if that's not the case. Thank you. --Malkinann (talk) 01:03, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm in the middle of moving, so I may not be able to access it for a bit. I'll keep your request on my talk page, though, and take care of it as soon as possible (which, again, may be a while). ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe19:53, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Wong, Amos (February de 2003). "Interview with Yutaka Izubuchi" Newtype USA Vol. 2. n 2. pp. 14–15. Either scan or transcript would be fine. I'm not sure whether this is a translation of a Japanese Newtype article or not.
(On a sidenote, I don't know if I mentioned it, but the Top Runner thing has two partial parallel translations already, so my interest is mainly whether there are any mistakes there and what else was said during the show.) --Gwern (contribs) 18:01 15 September 2011 (GMT)
Hello Nihonjoe. I had previously asked you about my username change, remember? Now, can you do me a favor? I'd love to get my hands on the The Law of Ueki articles in the two Newtype USA issues listed here (Volume 5, issue 5 and volume 5, issue 8). Also, do you happen to know any other magazine (English or Japanese) containing The Law of Ueki interviews or reviews of any sort? Thanks in advance! Ryoga Godai (talk) 12:29, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Hey Nihonjoe, I'm currently working on an article on Cat Eyed Boy and was hoping you could dig up it's article on page 72 of PIQ, June 2008 (Volume 1 Number 3). Opencooper (talk) 06:42, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
