Uploading images without sources

[edit]

Don't upload images without stating which reliable source/website you obtained it from. Also, please stop adding small text and flatlist formatting to infoboxes. It's time you familiarised yourself with the current standards that are gone through in detail at Template:Infobox song. Finally, there is no need to add the word "recorded" to the lead sentence of a song. We know it's recorded by the artist; that is obvious. Further instances of this that you insert will be removed and/or reverted. Thank you. Ss112 12:56, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

[edit]

Stop using Template:Duration inside track listings. The template's page explicitly states it is for use inside infoboxes. Track listing templates are not infoboxes. I have told you this before; you have clearly either forgotten about it or don't care and have continued adding the duration template in places it is not supposed to go. Also, stop using semicolons to bold. Use bold markup (three apostrophes on either side of the text) per WP:PSEUDOHEAD. Next time you disregard this I promise I will outright revert you, regardless of what else you have done to an article, because rarely if ever can one of your edits be reverted as you re-edit all the parts you already have. This stuff has been going on for years and needs to stop. Your edits are getting annoying. Ss112 13:50, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help, Ss112. Actually, it was not my intention to do ignore all 555.000 guidelines on any of the articles that were bullshit until I tried to polish them a bit. Clearly, I appreciate comments like "Your edits are getting annoying" from someone who did nothing to these articles. Noboyo – 22:27, 23 January 2020
I didn't get your ping. You're literally complaining about the amount of guidelines Wikipedia has because you can't be bothered to educate yourself on them. Not my problem. You should get over that and inform yourself. Have you ever considered not editing Wikipedia if the amount of guidelines this website has troubles you, or if it's such a pain to be able to remember what is correct to do and what isn't? And what is this about I'm "someone who did nothing to these articles"? Given how unresponsive you and antiquated your editing standards are, I daresay you have no idea what articles are on my or any editor's watchlist and what aren't, nor the extent of my or any other editor's contributions. For your information, I went around to something like 100 different articles the other week you'd used your incorrect formatting and outdated standards on and fixed them, hence why I left this message in the first place. This nonsense about "polishing" and these articles before you came across them being "bullshit"—good Lord, get over yourself. None of the articles you've edited recently were "bullshit". Imagine literally thinking you've done some great service to Wikipedia by adding extra information to articles (and using incorrect formatting, might I add) that nobody asked you to add when the articles weren't even in bad shape. Considering you don't appear to be a native English speaker, and given the state of the prose that I have read that you have previously contributed on articles—not to mention the thousands of bytes you've added recently to R&B singers' articles—God knows now how someone who has a better grasp of English has to come along after you and clean up your grammatical mistakes to make it all flow and make better sense, yet here you are talking about the "bullshit" state of articles and "polishing" them. But yes, keep thinking you're the one who's "polishing them a bit". We couldn't do it without you, Noboyo. Truly. Ss112 04:11, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hey Noboyo! I was wondering if you could me out with the Kisses Down Low article. I really need help with expanding the article and adding more sources to it. The main problem is that in each section there is little information on it and that really needs to be fixed because there is a lot of more things that should be into the article and by seeing your work with other Kelly Rowland-related articles I can tell that you would be a really big help at improving the article and adding more information to it. A tag has been placed on Albumism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Stop uploading oversized versions of album covers

[edit]

Please stop uploading oversized versions of previously correctly sized album covers, as you've been doing with Lionel Richie and Diana Ross's albums. They were fine as they were before. The maximum square dimension for cover artworks is 316×316, but it's recommended they are an even 300×300 per Template:Infobox album—you are far exceeding this in some cases, and a bot has been tagging your uploads for being too large. See WP:IMAGERES. There is no point in replacing these—please leave the covers as they are if they are already 300×300 or thereabouts, or I will raise this with an admin or at ANI because this is becoming an issue. These covers are copyrighted, and Wikipedia has limits on the proportions of non-free content that are uploaded. Thank you. Ss112 03:58, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please, leave for semi-retirement again. YOU do not decide what's fine and what is not. Some of them were significantly wrong in color or size. I will THOUGH heed your "advice".
No, I think I'll be sticking around. Please don't launch into ad hominem attacks—stay on the topic I raised (for the record: that's not me "deciding" for you, that's what WP:NPA says). Anyway, you're right about one thing—I don't decide things like this at all. That is why I linked you to two guidelines that tell you the correct size of what to upload—that's me telling you what guidelines say. Ss112 05:12, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent changes to articles

[edit]

Regarding your recent changes to articles:

  • As you did on The Day (Babyface album), do not collapse content by default anywhere on an article per MOS:NOHIDE. This also violates MOS:ACCESS. No content should be collapsed in the infobox no matter how long it is.
  • Wikipedia has made it a requirement that per MOS:ACCESS, table captions must be provided for all tables you add to an article—this includes track listings, so please start adding them. This means utilising headline= in track listings.
  • Articles do not need their plain listing of tracks changed into Template:Track listing. You will run into opposition the more you do this, and you may find yourself mass-reverted by an editor who does not like you doing it. The template is only a recommendation when credits may be complex and may suit a more ordered layout. Please stop adding it where it is not necessary to do so just because you prefer it.
  • If you are adding the track listing template to a new article, use the headline= parameter (as this is a requirement) and also, add the duration of the album from the infobox—you've neglected to do this on the past few album articles you've "made over", even on articles you have created.
  • Template:Album chart is two words, it is no longer "albumchart". You also do not need to use refname="x" unless you are adding a chart section earlier in the article and you intend to use that specified refname.
  • The link for AllMusic uses a capital M—please stop changing it back to Allmusic.
  • Please understand what "noprose = yes" means in Template:Album ratings. It means there is no accompanying critical reception section. If you have summarised a review, or there is any accompanying prose next to the table, do not add "noprose = yes" and make sure it is not there, as otherwise it is an incorrect use of that parameter.

Please don't misuse scope="row"

[edit]

Regarding your changes to Mýa discography, please do not misuse !scope="row". !scope="row" is intended to specify the first and/or most important parameter with each entry in a wikitable. That means, in terms of wikitables listing singles, it is for the title of the song, not the album. It is not for stylistic purposes or to grey out a background because it looks better. It has a proper function and a meaning, and also helps visually impaired readers using screen readers sort out what is the dominant parameter of an entry. That is the title of the song, because the album a song is from is only secondary information. Thank you. Ss112 11:48, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
