[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Dong Huling has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGfE6C18ePw= (matching the regex rule \byoutube\.com). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 09:32, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Officium_ecm_album.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Officium_ecm_album.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 02:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I have noticed that you have created quite a few album articles. When doing so or when editing album articles, I'd like to suggest that you add the {{album}} tag to their talk pages (unless its already there) and thus add the articles (talk pages to be precise) to Category:WikiProject Albums articles where project members and others can find / process them. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:HF portrait.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 02:56, 16 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 02:56, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Corduroy_1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Replaceable fair use File:Incognito_BM.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Incognito_BM.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 05:52, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

G'day Nosti and welcome to the wonderful world of wikipedia... I noticed your recent album entries and wanted to compliment you on engaging in the seemingly never-ending oddysey of improving the coverage of WP:albums and WP:Jazz for the world at large - hopefully the obsession won't take up too much of your time but there's a lot to be done and only a few of us doing it. Nice to have you aboard. If you are interested in creating album articles for Wikipedia I would refer you to Moonriddengirl's Notes for Creating Album Articles for some excellent advice. Thank you for uploading File:Bristol Supertram.jpg.

You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:15, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Bristol BRT.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bristol BRT.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:53, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:05, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contribution to the equipment section is undoubtedly much appreciated. It's the one aspect of his that I've always managed to avoid touching until now (due to him having such an extensive array of gear over the decades!), so it's great to see things off to a good start. Will you be covering amps at any point? That will definitely need a sub-section of its own, beneath his guitars (albeit under the same Equipment heading). Replaceable fair use File:Supertram City Centre.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Supertram City Centre.gif. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone.

Thank you. Fut.Perf. 16:18, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Proposed deletion of A Quiet Day in Spring

[edit]

The article A Quiet Day in Spring has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (music albums) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:30, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Recordings. I am afraid I don't see how your argument responds to my question about how your article meets this requirement? Also, note WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. We have a lot of articles about music albums, songs and such that don't meet our policy. Which means that we either have to change the policy or delete a lot of articles. For now, please tell me if your articles meet the policy in question. If not, you can start a discussion about changing our policy, and we will either do so or I am afraid some of your articles may be deleted. I'd hope we can save them one way or the other. They are useful, but... WP:ITSUSEFUL... Cheers, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:59, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, but you haven't answered my question either. What I am asking you, Piotrus, is why are you proposing to delete this particular Larry Coryell album article when there are already twelve by that artist on Wikipedia. Each one of these twelve articles has a single reference to an AllMusic review, just like A Quiet Day in Spring. Are you proposing to delete all of these too? I have said nothing at all about wanting to change Wikipedia policies in my post and my question to you is genuine. I do not understand your logic in wanting to delete this particular album and not the others. Nostalgic34 (talk) 18:52, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there :) I told this same thing to DISEman but I've seen you do the same thing. I'm not sure how necessary it is to italicize the "All compositions" part below the track listing. It doesn't say anything in the WP:MOSLALBUM (album style guide) about it and I haven't seen it on other album pages besides the jazz ones you two work on. Also, the infobox has a studio/venue parameter, so those can be utilized instead of a <br in the 'Recording' spot. Example here: Jazz Suite Inspired by Dylan Thomas's "Under Milk Wood". --Jennica / talk 03:31, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:12, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:The Bridge soundtrack 1992.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in The Bridge (1992 film)#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:36, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
