Nicaragua

[edit]

Regarding Visa for Iranian Citizens entering Nicaragua this i7s true and therefore Iranian Citizens need a Visa to enter Nicaragua before hand. Most nearly all countries require Iranian Citizens to have Visas before hand.Pryde 01 (talk) 07:55, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:"Portugal wins group A"

[edit]

Well, according to the rules for classification in the article, is the head-to-head match first criteria. As Portugal won against both teams, they must be guaranteed the first place. kalaha 20:51, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. I realized that a second after I posted the comment, and thus deleted it again on your page. Passportguy (talk) 20:53, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yemen

Thanks for that. Can you include Yemen on the map? Sorry I don't know how to do it.Pryde 01 (talk) 00:02, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do so. Passportguy (talk) 00:05, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparent malfunction

[edit]

Your bot is routinely tagging all new versions of previously uploaded GNU images as if they were brand new images. Would be great if you could fix that. Passportguy (talk) 01:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's wrong with what it's doing? --Carnildo (talk) 01:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's tagging new versions as orginal work. Passportguy

E.g. here : RomanianPassportVisaFree.PNG Passportguy (talk) 01:42, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just because an image is old doesn't mean it's exempt from the requirement of having a source. --Carnildo (talk) 02:05, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But it has a source. I was created by the first person in the image history list !!! Passportguy (talk) 02:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Was it? It was uploaded by him, but nowhere does it say it was created by him. --Carnildo (talk) 02:47, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So why wasn't the image tagged before then ? Only subsequent versions of GNU licenced (only !) images get tagged.

Also : Under the GNFDL licence, as previous authors need to be documented. If I upload a file and release it under GNFDL without such a list, then it may be deduced that I am also the original author of the work.
Who created this image?
Who owns the copyright to this image?
Where did this image come from?

These are all questions that were answered be default through the addtion of the licence tage when the image was uploaded

  • Who created this image? As no list of previous authors is attached : the uploader
  • Who owns the copyright to this image? Not really applicable, as this is a GFDL
  • Where did this image come from? again : the uploader

Wikipedia copyright tags are no safeguard against purposefly copyright breach, e.g. taken a copyrighted image of the internet and then licencing it as free. If someone is intent to get around the rules, he can very easily do. Passportguy (talk) 03:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your points:
  1. It wasn't tagged before because neither ImageTaggingBot nor STBotI was running on April 16, and humans don't look at new uploads very often.
  2. Accidental violation of the GFDL is very common -- for images, probably more than half of them violate it.
  3. Falsely claiming something is GFDL-licensed is even more common, and if the uploader provides a source, that can be checked.
--Carnildo (talk) 04:52, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that ideally a source should be stated. But that still doesn't change the fact that one isn't absoultely necessary and is no reason to delete an image, if there is no other reasn to suspect copyright infringment (as in the above case). Passportguy (talk) 15:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I might also add that the parallel to the GFDL texts on Wikipedia is obvious. If I create a new page I release the text as GFDL - and in allmost all instances it is not stated but rather implied that the text was written by myself the creator of the page ! Yemen VOA for Romanians

[edit]

Is there a problem with putting Yemen on the Visa Free/VOA List for Romania Passport?Pryde 01 (talk) 09:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No... In fact Yemen is already on that list. Passportguy (talk) 15:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rwanda

[edit]

Can Rwanda be added to the Romanian/Bulgarian Passport because I have seen other passports the ones that do not have diplomatic representation excluding the Visa Free for 3 months that Rwanda is added because they do not have diplomatic representation but you are required to get a visa off the Rwanda migration website?Pryde 01 (talk) 02:49, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are required to get propr approval (i.e. essentially already issuance of visa) prior to departure. I.e. : not visa on arrival, but visa-over-internet. Passportguy (talk) 02:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok but im asking if I can add it anyway cause some other Passports do have it added despite having to get it off the website and having no diplomatic representationPryde 01 (talk) 02:55, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If other pages have Rwanda add, it should be remove there also (as a mistake). But do note that Rwanda allows visa-free travel to several nationals, e.g. USA, Germany and Sweden. Passportguy (talk) 04:01, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vanuatu

[edit]

Is it possible if you can contact the appropriate people in Vanuatu regarding Visa Free/VOA Access for Romanian and Bulgarian nationals? Because they do allow Visa Free/VOA Access for Commonwealth/EU Citizens?Pryde 01 (talk) 02:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try ans see if I can find something. Vanuatu is pretty picky as to whom they admit without a visa (as are Tonga & Kiribati), so it may well be that they haven't added Romania to their list yet. But we shall see... Passportguy (talk) 02:54, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PRC

[edit]

According to the Continental Airlines Visa Page when I choose China as the destination and Romania as the Nationality it simply states the following:

Visa not required provided: 1.holding passport endorsed "For Public Affairs"; OR

2.coming for a stay of max. 6 days if arriving from Hong Kong

or Macao to take a trip to Zhujian Delta in Guangdong
 Province and:
 - travelling as tourist in a group organized by a Chinese
international tour operator or registered travel agency
(see: For details, click here ); and
 - entering/travelling and departing only from the following
cities: Dongguan, Foshan, Guangzhou, Huizhou, Jiangmen,
Shantou, Shenzheng, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan or Zhuhai; OR

PRC Should be added because it states coming for tourism for 6 days? I am sure some other passports have the same rights as Romania doesPryde 01 (talk) 05:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. Case 1 is a speciality case for specially endorsed passports akin to offcial passports.

Case 2 is the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone visa-on-arrival, afforded to a great number of nationals for short trips to this area only. However it is currently suspended until after the Olympics. Since it is so limited, I would not put it on this list. After all we don't include other free-zone entry requirements either, e.g. Kish Island (Iran) or the Shanghai airport transit visa. Passportguy (talk) 06:03, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Australia

[edit]

Australia should be included in the map for Romania and Bulgaria. This article explains the reason why:

  • [1]. This article released yesterday, it states that more another service is going to be introduced for all EU Tourists/Business Visitors in October as part of the Full EU's Visa Reciprocal Program

It has been done for the EU Passports and other Western Passports so it should be done for Romania Poland and Bulgaria too, this is recognized as Visa Free Travel according to the US and the EU.Pryde 01 (talk) 04:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two points :

1) I personally don't think Australia should be on the list as the ETA isn't really a visa-on-arrival. 2) For Romania & Bulgaria it's a moot point, as both are not eligible for the ETA, but rather only for an online visa called "e-676", which is not the same thing. (Compare carefully the Timatic links for Romania and e.g. Sweden.

If and when Australia introduced ETAs for Romanians, we can add it to the list if you like, in a manner similar to US_passport#Oceania Passportguy (talk) 04:54, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Btw : The policy of accepting ETAs as visa-free travel is being reconsidered by the Comission at the moment, after the US announced plans to introduce a similar scheme from January 1st. If enacted the Comission has stated it is considering re-introducing visas for US citizens as a response: That in turn will almost certainly lead to the same treatment being extended to Australia's ETA scheme as well. Passportguy (talk) 04:59, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It said another new service will be introduced in October I assume that will be the ETA system and therefore Visa Reciprocity will be completed. We have to wait and see to see what this new service will be for all EU Citizens introduced in October this year.Pryde 01 (talk) 05:15, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reading the link above, I'm not so sure anything substantive will changed. It sound like they are improving the site for applying for the e-676 visas, but that still doesn't change the fact that a lot of EU Europeans will still need a visas for every journey to Australia (while ETAs allow multiple entries for up to 3 months). We will see what actually happens in October. Passportguy (talk) 05:57, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure of two things

1) ETA is going to be scrapped cause Australia will then have to have Visas to enter the EU and Australians wont be very happy about having Visas to enter the EU everytime they want to go to Europe it would be painful thing to go through or 2) All EU Citizens will get some kind of Visa Free Access it may not be ETA but it obviously there is some program designed to allow Visa Free/VOA Access to all EU Citizens to Australia because Australia have no choice anywaz they say Full Visa Reciprocity is almost reached I assume the EU is okaying it so far and it seems by the article that Australia are following EU rules regarding Visa Free/VOA Access for all EU Citizens. 3) Lastly Australia may merge the ETA with e676 to make it more streamlined for EU Citizens regarding Tourists and Business VisitorsPryde 01 (talk) 08:14, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Map Change

[edit]

Can we have the mapped changed to the same colour as Bulgaria's? It would look more nicer please?

The problem with the Bulgarian map is that it doesn't differenciate between VOA and visa-free. Passportguy (talk) 21:07, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq

[edit]

Iraq should be added to the map, it is not added. For Bulgaria it has been added. Can you please add it?Pryde 01 (talk) 12:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why should Iraq be added ? It's generally neither visa-free nor VOA ? Passportguy (talk) 07:49, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its added for bulgaria though. Its states the following:

National ROMANIA (RO) /Residence NEW ZEALAND (NZ) Embarkation ROMANIA (RO) /Destination IRAQ (IQ)

IRAQ (IQ)

Passport required.

Visa required. If arriving at Erbil International Airport:

visa can be obtained on arrival, should the immigration

authorities deem the issuance of such a visa necessary.

Fee: free of charge.

Note: entry requirements are liable to change at short

Only through Iraqi Kurdistan.

Pryde 01 (talk) 09:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then Iraq should either be added or removed for both bulgaria and Romania?Pryde 01 (talk) 10:53, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, since there is VOA for Romanians into Iraq through Erbil Interntional Airport than can we add it onto the middle east map? Im sorry I hope im not being annoying its just that it should be added because it has been added for Bulgaria as VOA? ThanksPryde 01 (talk) 05:31, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the Bulgarian map, you will see that I removed Iraq from that one. I don't think Iraq should be added, as the VOA doesn't pertain to the main country. If we start adding special zone VOA, we'd have to add Iran (for all - Kish Island is visa-free), China (Shenzhen SEZ), Jordan (visa-free Aqaba SEZ) etc. etc., which would make the maps confusing. I got an email regarding Visa Free Access for Romanian and Bulgarian Citizens to Bermuda and they will have Visa Free Access to Bermuda when Romania and Bulgaria do not have any workers restrictions e.g. work permit. Future Layout

[edit]

When there a few more countries that allow Visa Free/VOA Access to Romanian and Bulgarian Citizens can we have the format like Mexico's and only list the countries that are Visa Free/VOA AccessPryde 01 (talk) 01:10, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe both pages currently only list VOA/visa-free countries. But if you are refering to the table format : sure. Passportguy (talk) 03:23, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

British Protectorates

[edit]

When the UK lifts the restrictions at the end of 2008 will that mean Visa Free/VOA Access will be applied for Romanian and Bulgarians for all the UK Protectorates?Pryde 01 (talk) 01:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Likely not. Every British OT has its own immigration policy, so while more and more are likely to add Romania to the visa-free list, it likely won't come as a one-off decision for all. Passportguy (talk) 03:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Visa exemptions for Iranians permanently resident in either the US or Canada

[edit]

I don't think this part should be here, and I don't think Canada alongside other Countries should be on the map especially when Iranians cant travel to most countries Visa Free, it would be confusing for readers this should be removedPryde 01 (talk) 05:16, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really care either way. You might want to contact User Majalinno that frequently contributes to that page and discuss with him/her whether that info should be included. Generally speaking I would agree that listing all speciality cases of entry requirements is probably a bit much and if it gets out of hand may clutter the list. Kyrgyzstan

[edit]

Why are they giving Visa requirements to EU Countries? It seems odd to mePryde 01 (talk) 23:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it may be the result of the Schengen visa. Many former Communist countries did not have visa requirements for ex-USSR countries, but introduced them when they joined Schengen and/or the EU. So now Kyrgysztan is retaliating and introducing reciprocal vsia requirements for thus-far non-visa European nationals. Passportguy (talk) 04:47, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: Czech passport

[edit]

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, but this is infinitely easier than scouring the 200ish countries' DFA's websites, and the responsibility for the accuracy of the list is placed on the Czech government rather than me. As the only serious maintainer of that article I would otherwise have a lot of work to do compiling a list from all those websites, and not to mention maintenance, especially given I don't even live in the CR. I know this is a lazy argument, but if you want to add sources for each country and maintain them, be my guest. :) +Hexagon1 (t) 05:49, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know it is a lot of work. I'm not saying that you need to check alll these sources, I'm just saying that if someone posts sourced information from a different website you shouldn't just delete that info. Passportguy (talk) 06:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean it in that way, but I'm afraid of the list getting cluttered with incoherent, possibly out-of-date or incorrect info. Sticking to the Czech Department of Foreign Affairs' website places the responsibility on the Czech government, as I said. PS: Sort of off-topic, but do you think that Czech/Slovak Republics have visa-free access to Lichtenstein? They should, Lich. being in the EEA and all, but technically Lich. doesn't recognise Czechia/Slovakia as countries.. (Not trying to divert attention from the source thing, just think you'd have the expertise to help with this, Passportguy :) ) +Hexagon1 (t) 13:08, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've read about it on another Wikipedia page, but I am a bit unsure about that "non-recognition bit". As far as I understand it they "just" don't have diplomatic relations.
But it is really a mute point. Czechs/Slovaks do have visa-free access to Liechtenstein, as the latter has ceded responsibility for border immigration matters to the Swiss police (they are the ones doing immigration checks at the Austrian border). Therefore Swiss rules apply. And as CZ/SK do have relations with Switzerland there shouldn't be a problem.
Whether or not CZ/SK also have unlimited EEA residency access is another matter. I'd have to look into that one in more detail. Passportguy (talk) 13:55, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Last I was aware, it really was a recognition problem (16). It's still possible that though even Swiss Police will admit you in, you're in the nation illegally. I'll leave it in for now. Back to the visa list, do you get where I am coming from with sourcing it only from that page? +Hexagon1 (t) 05:39, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Swiss police are the only authority to grant temporary admission, so if they let you in, its not illegal.
As for teh source issue.l I can understand where you aer coming from, however I'm not convinced that replacing possibly outdated primary sourced with very likely outdated Czech MFA source is the ideal way to go. Sure : it is very convienent, and in lieu of something better it is a good way to do it. Ideally everything on Wikipedia should be sourced with a primary source rather than a secondary or tertiary one. But I realize that this is the real world and often the only sources (practically) available are secondary ones. Passportguy (talk) 05:59, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, good (about the Swiss). I don't think the Czech department is outdated, the site lists the date of last update as 6. září 2007 (6 September 2007), which in international law is pretty recent. In any case, what makes you think the Czech department would be any more outdated than the Canadian equivalent? +Hexagon1 (t) 11:02, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Because the Canadians (in this case) make the rules. Thy will obviously know them first and publish them first. All other sites will lag behind as they do (in)frequent updates. Passportguy (talk) 11:06, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Touché, yet the change in status will be sent along to the Czech counterparts and the page will be updated. The original country may not even publish the memo on its website (Canada obviously would, but I can think of numerous countries that wouldn't). Another slightly off topic thing, I admire your passion for travel but I'm curious what definition you use for countries. Your list lists Malaysia (taking it as a federated whole) but also lists Sabah separately. The only thing I can think of is that Sabah retains control of immigration, but then again so does Sarawak, and the home nations (which you list separately) don't - me confused. +Hexagon1 (t) 11:38, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
After looking a the various internet lists of "countries", I came up with the following : I include all seperately admimistered territories more than 300km/200 miles from the mainland. In addition all territories with an important "feature" of an independant nation, e.g. their either own TLD, their own currency, national sports team (that's why the UK home countries are listed seperately) etc. I know this definition isn't pefect - but it's the best I could come up with. Feel free to post any suggestions for improvement.

Kuwait

[edit]

Is it possible that Kuwait be added because it says Romania is entitled to VOA?Pryde 01 (talk) 08:11, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

However, visa can be obtained on arrival if coming for
vacation or leisure for a stay of max. 1 month, provided:
- having sponsor in Kuwait holding the original visa; and
- holding confirmation from transporting airline that visa is
available on arrival.
Fee: up to a max. of KWD 5.-.

That means that your sponsor has to arrange the visa in advance, i.e. no VOA. Compare to

National SWITZERLAND (CH) /Destination KUWAIT (KW)
Passport required.
Visa required, which can be obtained on arrival for a stay of
max. 3 months (extension possible).
Fee: up to a max. of KWD 5.-.
Visitor is required to hold onward/return tickets.

Visa Free/VOA Access

[edit]

How come alot of countries don't have much Visa Free or VOA Access?Pryde 01 (talk) 07:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because many countries are afraid of illegal immigration. E.g. most people that come to the UK from Africa are looking for a job rather than come as tourists. To stem the tide of illegal immigrants the UK requires visas for many African nationals in order to keep a lid on the numbers coming and then staying. Passportguy (talk) 07:32, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But what about Iran, Russia, PRC, India CIS countries why do they have very little Visa Free/VOA?Pryde 01 (talk) 08:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Same problem. India, China & Russia are country with a large populations and large scale poverty, i.e. strong emigration trends. Iran is a bit different, here (as with most ME countries) security concerns are more important when it comes to visa-requirements. Passportguy (talk) 08:29, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How come alot of the third word countries require everyone to have Visas? Why cant they have a Visa Free or VOA system? How come alot of citizens from the third world have their passports rejected more than others e.g. EU/US?Pryde 01 (talk) 09:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citizens of poorer countries are more likely to be illegal immigrants. Therefore their visa aplications are checked more thoroughly and are more likely to be rejected.
As for why third world countries require visas for westerners :
1) Reciprocity : Western countries require visas or their citizens, so why shouldn't they require visas for westerners ?
2) Immigration control : Many of these countries aren't exactly deomcratic, and the respective governments want to hav a tabs on how many "liberal westerners" enter.
3) Revenue : For African embassies especially, visas fees are often their only source of income, as home governments often are unable to pay for the upkeep fo the embassy.

Hello. I noticed that you have been reverting alot of changes that have been made to Australian Independent Schools. I ask you not to interfere in this, as we are trying to have fun. Thank you in advance, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Doss Dog (talkcontribs) 04:55, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Images

[edit]

Hi mate,

I have noticed you have been deleting images off the St John Ambulance Australia New South Wales page.

I ask you to stop making changes to this page as you are not austhorised on behalf of St John Ambulance Australia (NSW).

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Byrontyrer11 (talkcontribs) 08:14, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bryontyrer11 :

If you keep reverting this I will report you for WP:3RR also do not violate wikipedia copyright policy, WP:COPYRIGHT. Thanks. Djegan (talk) 14:40, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1) I only reverted one (!) of your edits.
2) This is borderline trolling.
3) I am going to report this to an administrator. If you are right and wikipedia cannot use data from sources, them a whole bunch of pages might have to be edelted. Looking at your userpage, that may be your intention. However that would be contrary to normal copyright, so I doubt it very much. Passportguy (talk) 14:43, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead - but WP:3RR applies to all your edits to a single article, its irrelevant who reverted you. Read it and understand it before quoting it. Djegan (talk) 14:46, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please also read WP:VERIFY -- any material must be referenced on request. Djegan (talk) 14:49, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet?

[edit]

I saw you edits here. Please assume good faith, just because two or three editors disagree with your point of view, and you have not garnered significant support, it does not follow that those against your view are sockpuppets. Please read Wikipedia:Sock puppetry before making allegations and please make allegations in the appropriate place rather than using the allegations as a means to motivate someone else to become involved. It is a serious allegation to make. Please see WP:CONSENSUS.

Finally, please read WP:CANVASS. Djegan (talk) 14:51, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you really expect me to believe, that two editors, who have not contributed to a page in recent history (one never as far as I can see and the other one in over a year) simultaneously and independantly of each other both come to the conclusion that a whole section of an article must be deleted ?? Please....
I will update the section some time next week with individal sources as I find time. If you want to move the section to something like Visa requirements for Irish citizens or similar at that time, feel free to do so.
I am considering this matter closed for now and will not comment any further. And as you do like to quote Wikipedia policies so avidly, please read WP:Goodfaith and Wikipedia:Wiki_spirit, especially # 3 on the last one. Passportguy (talk) 15:08, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Visa Free Travel for EU Member States

[edit]

I have read that Romanian and Bulgarian Citizens will very soon be given Visa Free Travel to Canada. I will keep you postedPryde 01 (talk) 10:05, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know when Romanian and Bulgarians will Visa Free Access to Canada? I have heard that its very soonPryde 01 (talk) 06:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cnada abolished visas for the 2004 entry countries in 2007 due to pressure from the Commission, but have so far resisted doing so for Romanians & Bulgarians. When canada will abolish visa requirements is anyones guess, probebly sooner rather than later due to continued pressure by the Commission, but it's rather difficult to set a date. Passportguy (talk) 09:55, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand thats its going to happen very soon. I got an email from the Commission and they replied saying that "Visa Free Access should be available before the end of the year". They stated that Canada and the EU is making good progress it is a matter of dealing with the fine tuning of certain stuff. But with Australia there will be full Visa Reciprocity by the end of the year. I got that email separately from the EU. Canada really has NO choice! They have to do what they are told sooner or face sanctions its that simple. This feet dragging is certainly angering the EU very much Romania and Bulgaria in particular I don't blame themPryde 01 (talk) 07:28, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know if Romanians and Bulgarians will get Visa Free to South Africa? I am sure with most countries will be added to Rom and Bul Passports over time. When the EU Labour restrictions are lifted for Rom and Bul in 2013 inevitably more will be added for surePryde 01 (talk) 09:08, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Labour Restrictions Abolishment in 2013 and Schengen Membership

[edit]

In 2013 when all labour restrictions will be lifted for Romania and Bulgaria permanently what will this mean? What will it mean in terms of working in other of the EU 25 Member States? When Romania and Bulgaria enter the Schengen what will this privileges and responsibilities does this bring?Pryde 01 (talk) 03:31, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The two are two different things. The abolishment of all labour restrictions mean that Romanians & Bulgarian will be able to work anywhere in the EU on the same terms as natives, i.e. you can go and live anywhere you choose and work there without having to apply work work permits and visas.

The Schengen expansion would mean the abolition of passport controls, essentially between Hungary & Romania and between Bulgarian & Turkey. However I wouldn't count on this happening too fast, as the Bulgarian / Turkish border especially is a concern to many in Europe. Passportguy (talk) 11:06, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you been reading about all this hype about Bulgaria loosing funds from 2007-13? Schengen stuff Funds etc? Bulgaria may not join the Schengen cause there chances is slim. Looks like Romania might be the only one joining the Schengen in 2010/11!Pryde 01 (talk) 11:35, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible we can add the Odessa and South Ossetia and those Ukrainian islands?Pryde 01 (talk) 12:45, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think I quite understand. Why would we add Ukrainian Islands & Odessa ? Passportguy (talk) 13:01, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because some other Passports have it like the Thai one they have Abkazia and South Odessetia. [5]Pryde 01 (talk) 14:55, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any harm in adding South Ossetia et.c in general, however the visa situation is somehwat unclear on these non-recognized countries, the only thing that seems to be sure is the CIS nationals don't need one. All others likely do.

I still don't understand the part about adding Odessa though... Passportguy (talk) 14:57, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you add South Ossetia on the map?Pryde 01 (talk) 07:31, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can we add Abkhazia then?Pryde 01 (talk) 07:34, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and no. We could add it is they were visa free, but non-CIS nationals do need a visa to enter both Abkhazia & Sout Ossetia, i.e. they aren't visa free for Romanians. Passportguy (talk) 08:23, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Visa Reciprocal EU and Russia

[edit]

When will the EU will get Visa Free Access to Russia and vice versa? I understand that it is going to happen but there are negotiations that will last for a long time? Can you give me more information on Visa Reciprocal for EU and Russia?Pryde 01 (talk) 07:45, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see that coming any time soon. Both sides aren't really committed. The EU is afraid of illegal immigration (mainly prostitutes and mafia) and the Russians are still very much in a control mood, i.e. want to keep a tabs on who enters the country and when. It might happen eventually, but I would say it will be a least 5 years. Passportguy (talk) 08:22, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Update Visa Travel to the United Kingdom - EU

[edit]

The United Kingdom is considering changing its Visa Policy so more countries will require Visas to the United Kingdom. This does NOT apply to EU Countries. More information read here:

Can you remove Britain off these Countries Visa page when the decision has been confirmed?Pryde 01 (talk) 08:59, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will do so, when the regulations are inacted. Britain seems to be moving away from proving visa-free access to Commonwealth countries and is bringing its visa-policy in line with Schengen/EU policy. Passportguy (talk) 09:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't only that other reasons include identity swapping and other illegal crimes to gain entry into the United Kingdom. The reason you said is part of the global visa review. Those 11 countries and more will be added overtime there were many other reasons for introducing the global visa review. The UK is intending to introduce visa regimes for 80% of the worlds population.Pryde 01 (talk) 10:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that the thinking was that if these 11 countries were added to the list of visa countries, 80 per cent of the worlds population would be covered. (See the BIA news item.) But is it the aim to cover 80 per cent of the world's population, or would this merely be the outcome of these changes, if they are implemented? Ondewelle (talk) 12:43, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The changes have not yet been implemented. It is suggested that visas should be introduced for citizens of Bolivia; Botswana; Brazil; Lesotho; Malaysia; Mauritius; Namibia; South Africa; Swaziland; Trinidad and Tobago; and Venezuela. If done, 80 % of the world's population would then require a visa to enter the UK. However it is not an aim as such to reach any particular percentage. Passportguy (talk) 12:48, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's how I read it... Ondewelle (talk) 15:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EU Visa Free Travel

[edit]

Who arranges Visa Free Travel for countries outside the EU for EU Countries? What is the process for the EU arranging Visa Free Access for EU Citizens?

The EU foreign relation commissioner and sometimes other members of the commission hold takes with representatives of various nations and pressure them to extend visa-free travel priviledges to all EU citizens. Sometimes they threaten to introduce retaliatory visa-requirements if this is not done. However that threat has yet to be followed through on. In any case, the individual foreign countries always have the last word on whether they abolish visa requirements for certain nationals or not. Passportguy (talk) 07:31, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Visa Free Access to Panama

[edit]

When will Romania and Bulgaria get Visa Free Access to Panama as part of the EU's Visa Reciprocal Policy for EU Citizens?Pryde 01 (talk) 09:03, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I had to guess, I would say probably yes. Panama is likely to be more interested in visa-free access for its citizens to Europe than in illegal immigration from Romania in the long run. But as the bureaucracy in Panama is slow, it may take some time. Passportguy (talk) 07:33, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Visa Free to Japan

[edit]

When will Romania get Visa Free Access to Japan as part of the EU Visa Reciprocal Policy?Pryde 01 (talk) 08:48, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the report. It's probably not vandalism, per se, but when you get someone running around adding unsourced edits to articles there are a useful set of templated warnings that you can use. The full lot are set out on this page - in this instance you'd probably start (as I did) with the lowest level of the "unsourced" series - putting {{subst:Uw-unsourced1}}~~~~ on the IP's talk page will generate the warning you can see here. If they continue, then you can progress with uw-unsourced2, 3, and 4, and then take them to WP:AIV if they carry on regardless.

In terms of their edits, you're probably okay to revert them, but with an edit summary that assumes they were acting in good faith, but without citing sources the edits can't stay.

If I can help further leave a message on my talk page. GBT/C 12:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When Australia adopts the e-Visitor/ETA Facility to all EU Member Countries in October 2008. This needs to be added to EU Passports, in other words Australia needs to be added to the Visa Free list.
