Vladimir Horowitz discography fair use images
[edit]{{adminhelp}}
The page, Vladimir Horowitz discography used to have an album cover on every row. However, User:Hammersoft has removed these images and tagged then for deletion under the criteria that they are not included on a page. The only reason that they are orphaned is the user removed them off the page. Can you sort these out because User:Etincelles spent a lot of time uploading these and adding them to the page. He has been spoken to about this kind of activity before. Also, the user has ruined the tables and this will take a while to sort out. The revision before Hammersoft removed these is this. Thanks--Pianoplonkers♫(talk) 14:03, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- Have you spoken with Hammersoft about this directly? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:05, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, he didn't. I did address the primary author of the discography, and the one who uploaded all the images at User_talk:Etincelles#Covers_in_discographies. Vis-a-vis album covers in a discography, my posting there should satisfactorily answer that issue. As to having been "spoken to about this kind of activity before", that carries no authority. I've not been cautioned by any administrator that what I am doing is in any way incorrect in regards to these removals or taggings. Sorry. As to the errors in the table, they have been fixed. Four minor changes. Please understand that I'm not the source of error, even though my edit left the tables as they were. The error was including the images in the first place. My actions took steps to correct that. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:17, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
New Horowitz page
[edit]I decided to create a page on Vladimir Horowitz - The Complete Original Jacket Collection. Etincelles (talk) 08:50, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Are you going to order the albums by year of issue? Etincelles (talk) 11:34, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- I was thinking of doing that yes, but the site that I retrieved the info from was not in date order. But yes, I will list then in date order at some point, unless you want to do it? Thanks for your help--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 11:35, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- I don't mind sorting them out. Etincelles (talk) 11:36, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I will add some more albums when you are done--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 11:38, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Want to do a deal and review each others FLCs?
[edit]Hi. I notice that youve rcently nominated the Horowitz discography. My candidate is Bayreuth canon which has almost reached the bottom of the list with only three reviewers.--Peter cohen (talk) 11:47, 9 February 2010 (UTC) spacing:1.6px;">Etincelles]] (talk) 11:34, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Using an Archive Bot
[edit]Message sent to Misza13's Talk Page
Recently, I have been thinking of using an archive bot to archive my talk page but, currently I am archiving my talk page every 30 comments. I would like to start using an archive bot to archive my talk page every month. Would it be possible to delete my previous archives, when I have moved their content onto my current talk page. Also, will the bot continue with my user theme (the blue border and menu) on the archive. Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 17:16, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Advanced Editing Toolbar
[edit]{{helpme}}
Where has the search and replace feature gone off the advanced editing toolbar? I was really useful--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 19:49, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- All that stuff is still in testing phases, I believe. If you would like something that helps with the "find and replace" function, you could look through Wikipedia:Text editor support. :-) Killiondude (talk) 01:19, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
WikiEd
[edit]{{helpme}}
My wikiEd doesn't seem to be working. How am I supposed to use it? (I have checked the enable button in the top-right)--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 08:09, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Kindly see the installation instructions there. If you encounter any specific problem then kindly define it clearly so that it can be sorted out step by step. feel free to ask it on live chat here or put another helptag with the specific problem. — Hamza [ talk ] 12:47, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Your much-needed work on classical discography
[edit]Given that pop music artists sometimes now have 5,000 words written in Wikipedia articles about a three-minute song, a one line mention of each of a classical artist's releases is welcome. As it happens Brendel is one of those artists whose recording interpretation I'll listen to strictly on the basis of his quality as an artist. I have a number of his Beethoven sonatas. I was rather pleased you were working on the article.
My editing process was only to clean up Amazon.com links. I spelled out the basic issues just above your comment on my talk page.[1] It's a fairly classic Wiki position that "information might be useful to some reader" as opposed to the Wikimedia Foundation's goals for its encyclopedia. You may not want to read my response in detail, in fact, because I'd encourage you, particularly, not to add the (spam) Amazon.com links on the basis of utility.[2] That is, I don't believe the Amazon.com links will be used, and your diligent Wiki contribution is better invested in review sites such as Allmusic. Multiple review sites would be highly convenient for readers who wished a spectrum of opinion. Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 21:51, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
MiszaBot archiving
[edit]Hello Pianoplonkers. I saw your note at User talk:Misza13. I don't know of any way to archive after 30 comments, but I notice that the oldest comments on your page go back less than two weeks. If you set up MiszaBot with 'algo= old(14d)' that would probably give you what you want. My own talk page is set up similar to that, but it has a 10-day timeout. The difference is that I don't archive by months; I let an archive roll over after it reaches 250K. If you would accept that method, you could use the following:
{{User:MiszaBot/config |maxarchivesize = 250K |counter = 1 |algo = old(14d) |archive = User talk:Pianoplonkers/Archive%(counter)d }}
The template must be spread out as shown, not condensed onto one line. If you want to archive by month, there are some instructions for doing that at User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo. You'll notice there is a parameter called archiveheader which would allow you to customize the look of each archive page. You might be able to use it to insert blue borders. Wikibreak Enforcer
[edit]{{helpme}}
I would like to enforce a wikibreak on myself for a week (starting tommorow at 00:00 (UTC) until Saturday at 00:00 (UTC)). Would this be the correct code:
/*** BEGIN WIKIBREAK ENFORCER ***/ addOnloadHook(function() { /*** Start editing here ***/ // When you want to end your break? // no leading zeroes. (example: 7 - correct, 07 - incorrect) var date = { year: 2009, month: 2, day: 28}; var time = { hours: 10, minutes: 0, seconds: 0 }; /*** Stop editing here ***/ var currentDate = new Date(); var enforcedBreakEnd = new Date( date.year,date.month-1,date.day,time.hours,time.minutes,time.seconds); if (currentDate <= enforcedBreakEnd) { alert("Enforced wikibreak until "+enforcedBreakEnd.toLocaleString() + "\n(now is "+currentDate.toLocaleString()+")\n\nBye!"); location = "http://"+location.host+"/enwiki/w/index.php?title=" + "Special:Userlogout&returnto=Main_Page"; } }); /*** END WIKIBREAK ENFORCER ***/
Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talk • contribs) 16:37, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Nathan Chapman
[edit]Hi, I saw that you tagged Nathan Chapman (producer) for deletion using CSD#A7. Be careful when using that criteria - the standard is lower than WP:Notability and should only be used where the article makes no credible claim of significance. It's an easy mistake to make, I've certainly made it myself in the past. The article mentioned that he had produced Grammy award-winning albums, which would clearly be such a credible claim. Had the article not been a copyright violation, I would not have been able to speedily delete it. Let me know if you have any questions. Best wishes, Rje (talk) 20:17, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
