I am not sure what you mean by a ‘joke edit’ because what I added wasn’t intended to be a joke. It was simply just made to compliment the headteacher of the school and I would appreciate it if you could let me write it again. Mikeschmiked34 (talk) 16:28, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
- Your addition to the article, "The school is run by Headteacher Tim Beesley, who’s ability to run the school is almost as good as his beard. ;)" is unnecessary, and it's not the tone of how to write encyclopedia. Meanwhile this edit made by you contains irrelevant image and furthermore it's not the way to attach images to an article here, so I reverted that one too. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 16:36, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello PlyrStar93. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at We will rock you goo goo ga. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of User talk:MESCOT Asia
A tag has been placed on your user page, User talk:MESCOT Asia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — fortunavelut luna 05:08, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

- why was the page deleted? Did you see that it has been revised. Why did you still see a conflict? It focused on (ongoing and relevant) research. References on research are all peer-reviewed. Please review the last version. I appreciate your efforts to keep Wikipedia free of spam and sales talk. But we should also give it space for European research and development activities. If still not ready to go, comments would be appreciated. ScienceGuard (talk) 11:09, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

- @El cid, el campeador: I can read Chinese and I am able to check it, and if your web browser displays Unicode Chinese characters correctly and recognizes character encoding correctly, try copying each sentence manually and use the search function on the web browser. Note some sentences have minor replacements, e.g. replaced "该校" (this school/university) with "云南大学" (Yunnan University).
- But basically, section 1 is made of the news article's third paragraph and some part of the first paragraph; section 2 is paragraphs 2+4+5+6; section 3 is the last paragraph. Wikipedia's duplication detection tool appears to be unable to detect duplication because the 163 page is not Unicode (it's Chinese - Simplified for my Firefox, becomes gibberish when manually switching to Unicode), while Wikipedia uses Unicode. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 03:52, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

G'day, just a reminder to add the {{salt|Shiwam Kumar Sriwastaw}} tag after tagging for speedy deletion as some of the admins have been missing it on articles. - What was the title of your page? There are several reasons why a page may be deleted, generally pages can't be included in Wikipedia unless they are about notable subjects. The criteria for each type of article can be found in the following links. Additionally they require reliable sources to validate the claims made and can't be raw copy-pastes of existing information elsewhere as this is usually either a copyright violation and/or unencyclopedic in nature.

- I am actually not an administrator and thus I don't delete articles. The IP is the one who edited Shirin mokhtarian, which was created by Lulllulaua. Assuming they are editing in good faith, it could be possible the user got logged out incidentally while editing. Hasty tagging
Hi there. Glad to see someone becoming more active on Wikipedia :) I just wanted to leave a note saying that it generally isn't a good idea to tag an article for speedy deletion based on the G2 criteria the moment after it was created. That article was more along the lines of A3, which has a commonly accepted 15 minute grace period. FWIW, I've tagged the article as A7 because he seems to be an extraordinarily average 21-year old. I did just want to leave a note about the hasty tagging, though. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:18, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

- @72.161.87.135: Good day, I was just seeing you reverted more than three times in less than 24 hours and giving you a fair notice, as I see this as a content dispute. It would be best if both sides actually come to a stop before this gets resolved at somewhere other than the article's main page. If admins decide that someone violates 3RR, they have the right to temporarily block them from editing. As for the other one, we also have to see how this goes. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 22:34, 27 August 2017 (UTC)
- I have tried discussing this on the talk page, but no one wants to discuss this and blindly reverts my edit. I am only trying to make sure the page is factual correct and have provided multiple sources which keep getting reverted based on 0 sources. The page is locked, and my edits have been reverted so the page is no longer correct, which is a shame since no one except me will bother taking it to the talk page. 72.161.87.135 (talk) 00:23, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Removing speedy delete tag
Hello sweet, you have placed a tag in a article that has been created via AFC. The article has been approved by a experienced editor from AFC team. Hence there is no need of placing a speedy tag, also there is no significant evidence that the article has been created by banned user also If the article was an advertisement the editor of AFC community would have strongly recommended it to deletion and would have not deleted it. Therefore iam of a opinion that the article is not advert since it no positive points.Firstmistake (talk) Take care buddy
- AFC members are not all admins and there are speedy deletion criteria they are not obliged to cover. Also even if it doesn't meet any speedy deletion criteria it is not you who remove the tag. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 03:08, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi PlyrStar93. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Hi @UnknownPro: it's the rollback feature that reverts all most recent changes by the same user. If you are an autoconfirmed user then you can get this ability by enabling Twinkle, when you don't yet have rollback permission. But with Twinkle, you have to warn users manually (go to their page and choose a warning message with Twinkle), while the bot performs this automatically. I have rewrite some info, which looks like more objective. Many private equity firms enjoy excellent historical investing performance, and are respected by players in the industry. They stay low-profile and unknown by mass media. As an retail investor, I have huge respect to them and desire to take some of them to wikipedia and make more people to share their knowings about these firms on wikipedia. Most of these info are from my reading of professional financial journals. Others are from their offical website. I try to select some objective info only to write on wikipedia.

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Nilamp
Hello PlyrStar93, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Nilamp, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. Article "Touchard polynomials"
Hello! I tried to make some changes to that article, but it was reversed by PlyrStar93. I need to get in touch with the corresponding math editor and explain the situation with this article.
Regards, Khristo Boyadziev — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kboyadzhiev (talk • contribs) 01:37, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Kboyadzhiev, thanks very much for getting in touch! There are a few concerns from me regarding the contents you add or change to this article. First is that it really seems odd that an article has this name and then starts straight with the phrase "<title> is misleading". You also did a trivial word replacement by changing all "Touchard"s in the rest of the article into "exponential", even for the first word of a sentence, making it start with lower case letter. Secondly, exponential polynomial has its own article about something different.
- Your change popped up on Huggle when I looked at it. Seeing you start the article with "<title> is misleading", the simple word swap, as well as the way you add external links, I thought there would be a possibility of unwikifying. Plus, the article has been named "Touchard polynomials" since day one, and the only moves are regarding the plural form; "exponential polynomial" has been something else.
- Anyways, it's actually very good that you get in touch with me since I realize you are trying to add your input and gain consensus. Unfortunately, I am not an expert in this topic, instead I am just trying to maintain the encyclopedic writing style of this article. I would suggest that if you plan to make such sudden change, discuss on the article's talk page and use the Help Desk as you have done, before making any change. You will have a much better chance of having someone specialized in this field to help you. Best -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 03:15, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

- Hi @Redgro: that's totally fine. Btw you should be able to turn on Twinkle in your preferences (under gadgets) after 12 hours I write this reply. It will be much more powerful than the simple undo functionality. Twinkle can rollback all edits last made by the same user to the latest version not made by this user, so if you see someone vandalizes a page with more than one consecutive edits, you will want to use this rollback functionality instead of the undo. It's also faster as there is no need to go to the edit page, and the revert can be done directly on the diff or user contribution page. You can also use Twinkle to warn and report users and do a lot more stuff. Cheers. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 03:23, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Article "Touchard polynomials"
September 8, 2017 About this article in Wikipedia. Hello!
I am writing about the article “Touchard polynomials” on Wikipedia. I think this name given somehow to the described polynomials is not appropriate. The polynomials described there were used as early as 1843 in the works of Grunert (see [3], [4], and [12]) and possibly could have been used earlier. Bell [1] called them “exponential polynomials”, so did Touchard [13]. They were called exponential polynomials also by J-Carlo Rota [15] and other researches. Under the name “exponential polynomials” they appeared in a number of publications, including my papers (see below). Most properties were found by Grunert, Bell, and in the papers listed below, especially in [4], [5], [10], and [11]. Most of these papers are available online. Touchard has not much contribution to their theory and was not the first one to mention them. He was just one of the many authors. It is not clear at all how the name “Touchard polynomials” appeared and why. Moreover, the name is misleading and leads to confusion in the mathematical community, because it diverts attention away from established publications. Simple professional ethics requires that the article be rewritten and updated. It will be justified to change the title to “exponential polynomials”.

- Hello Rudeboy2811, sorry about this, in the future please be sure to cite reliable sources when changing such information, and furthermore write the place names properly. Alton, Illinois is the proper way to write it, while Alton il is not. Another user has added it already, have a good day. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 15:08, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

It is 'constructive'; ' ... a criminal on the streets' sounds like a snippet from the TV guide. The plot IS about his arrest, his escape, and his 'mission', not just being 'on the streets', which has no meaning. A detailed plot would have much more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.81.246.242 (talk) 02:15, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

The name of the album is misspelled.
The Fall Out Boy album isn't called "Mania", it's called "M A N I A". At the very least, the stylized version should appear above the picture of the album. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.91.5.136 (talk) 18:55, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Link on Jen Richards page...
"Hello, I'm PlyrStar93. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Jen Richards because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. "
Please define inappropriate. The link provided is the correct one and missing... I don't see why adding an external link to a website is innapropriate. Tons of pages do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.232.142 (talk) 01:40, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, you may check out Wikipedia:External links. The primary concern here is that external links, while not being inline citations, should normally not be placed in article's body. Note that at this point, I am not talking about the informativeness/usefulness of the link you added to article yet, but you may also check criterion 11/13 of "Links normally to be avoided". -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 02:04, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- So if it was linked at the bottom in External links, would that be fine? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.232.142 (talk) 02:37, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I would still avoid such addition, personally speaking. The site appears as a blog site and it's not by a recognized authority and thus may not be considered reliable. Meanwhile, although created by the subject of the article (according to the article), the site's contents still don't directly relate to the subject. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 02:53, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

If you are an administrator, please block this IP because this IP is denying all warnings and continuously break WP:3RR. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:52, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Pkbwcgs: I'm not an administrator, but I think it's best to avoid any edits on that user's talk page for now, instead let the ANI do it's thing. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 19:59, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
Notice
I reverted vandalism on your talk page by two IP addresses which were both trying to harass you. I reported one of them and warned the other one. Thanks for the previous advice you gave me. Redgro (talk) 19:20, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Redgro: Thanks very much. For now we are avoiding any edits on that user's talk page since there is an ANI filed regarding this, and we can discuss and decide there whether or not this user's edits are disruptive, given their edit summaries. I also had to look into the school infobox template and realize there actually is a
rival
field and notowned_by
, so I restored this parameter to what this IP made (see edit summary there). There were too many vandal edits at the moment and it's not unusual to make mistakes when looking at all the recent changes and deciding which one appears as vandalism, and apparently I made such a mistake. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 20:07, 15 September 2017 (UTC) - @Redgro: Also, it would be better if we refrain from reverting any of the user's edits for the moment. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 20:09, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

- Yeah, possibly. It's been kind of on and off today, with various teams; someone vandalized Buster Posey a few hours ago. As a Giants fan myself, I found that wholly unacceptable. dalahäst (let's talk!) 04:18, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Revert question
Hi,
I am new to editing. I am wondering why you have reverted an edit I made to the Lebanese Cinema list of non-exhaustive directors Wiki page.
Is the director not credible? Is linking to an external website not supported? I would really appreciate it if you helped me clarify my editing approaches.
Thank you advance
- Hello Peperklipp, I reverted it because you appeared to be adding external links to sites not directly related to the topic. You can take a look at what are generally considered proper for external links. Also this article could use some cleanup, since quite a few of the names don't have Wikipedia entries and may not be notable. Thanks! -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 01:34, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for responding promptly! I read over the guidelines and understand that the external link I added is not appropriate within the guidelines.
Thank you againn — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peperklipp (talk • contribs) 01:37, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
