Please note that Wikipedia follows Parliamentary practice on the start and end dates of an MP's term. Regardless of whether he retired or was defeated on election day, an MP's term as an MP is denoted as ending the day the writs were dropped to start the election in which he ceased to be an MP, not the date of the election itself. It's the date that Parliament itself uses, so we follow the same practice whether anybody agrees with it or not — if you don't like it, you need to take it up with Parliament, not us. Also, the template title of a politician's infobox does not change based on whether or not the MP is a current incumbent; on both Aspin and Charmaine Borg, your edits actually broke the infobox and had to be reverted. The "Infobox CanadianMP" line at the top of the infobox does not change based on the MP's incumbency status — the name of the template stays the same regardless of whether they're still in office today or not, and their change in incumbency status is denoted by the inclusion of a term_end date in the body of the infobox rather than by changing the box's title.
