I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hello, Prisencolin
Thank you for creating Suicide by starvation.
User:Dps04, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
There is already a much more detailed description of suicide by starvation at Suicide methods#Starvation, so what little this article contains can be selectively merged to that article, or to List of suicides. Therefore, I am converting this short article into a redirect with possibilities for the time being, without prejudice to you converting this back into an article, provided that you can significantly expand upon its contents. Thanks~~

The article 2015 in League of Legends has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NOTSTATS.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 15:01, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
WikiCup 2020 May newsletter
The second round of the 2020 WikiCup has now finished. It was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 75 points to advance to round 3. There were some very impressive efforts in round 2, with the top ten contestants all scoring more than 500 points. A large number of the points came from the 12 featured articles and the 186 good articles achieved in total by contestants, and the 355 good article reviews they performed; the GAN backlog drive and the stay-at-home imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been partially responsible for these impressive figures.
Our top scorers in round 2 were:
- Epicgenius, with 2333 points from one featured article, forty-five good articles, fourteen DYKs and plenty of bonus points
- Gog the Mild, with 1784 points from three featured articles, eight good articles, a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews and lots of bonus points
- The Rambling Man, with 1262 points from two featured articles, eight good articles and a hundred good article reviews
- Harrias, with 1141 points from two featured articles, three featured lists, ten good articles, nine DYKs and a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews
- Lee Vilenski with 869 points, Hog Farm with 801, Kingsif with 719, SounderBruce with 710, Dunkleosteus77 with 608 and MX with 515.
The rules for featured article reviews have been adjusted; reviews may cover three aspects of the article, content, images and sources, and contestants may receive points for each of these three types of review. Please also remember the requirement to mention the WikiCup when undertaking an FAR for which you intend to claim points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Politics of Hangzhou moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Politics of Hangzhou, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 05:31, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

- @Prisencolin: Need to delete the Xǔ (state) redirect first then move the Xu (Henan) to Xǔ (state). Now cannot move the Xu (Henan) because the name of Xǔ (state) was using. Cannot use the name of province to mention in the page of state, that was wrong, the person of move the page name was totally corrupt the politic and geographic. I don't understand the rationale behind your move of Li (surname) to List of surnames romanized Li. Can you explain in greater detail how WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT connects with your move? To me it seems conceivable that people might actually search up the former article name because the "SUBJECT (DISAMBIG)" format is the standard here. The latter name isn't particularly intuitive at all. Are you planning to perform similar moves for all of the Chinese surname articles as well? bibliomaniac15 00:50, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I misinterpreted and saw that your target name was actually to Li (surname 李). It makes more sense considering how common it is, but I think you probably should have listed this in WP:RM first because the format of this whole thing was decided in an RFC before. bibliomaniac15 00:54, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- You're free to revert my page move, but I don't think I did anything against the consensus established by the RFC. It was specifically about disambiguation for the individual articles, not the name of the umbrella/disambiguation article itself.--Prisencolin (talk)
- I honestly don't feel strongly enough about it to revert because the 木子李 variant is so overwhelmingly common. I do think you should clean up a bit and fix double redirects in Special:WhatLinksHere/Li_(surname) though. If we've made our bed, we may as well sleep in it. bibliomaniac15 03:12, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

As the page clearly states any entry should have an article in the English Wikipedia. We do not do lists that point to nowhere and may contain wrong entries. If you can write it, or get an article written, then by all means. Note that links to other Wikipedias are not acceptable as they are not reliable sources. -- Alexf(talk) 20:57, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

June 2020
Your recent editing history at Shui (surname) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. WikiCup 2020 July newsletter
The third round of the 2020 WikiCup has now come to an end. The 16 users who made it into the fourth round each had at least 353 points (compared to 68 in 2019). It was a highly competitive round, and a number of contestants were eliminated who would have moved on in earlier years. Our top scorers in round 3 were:
- Epicgenius, with one featured article, 28 good articles and 17 DYKs, amassing 1836 points
- The Rambling Man , with 1672 points gained from four featured articles and seventeen good articles, plus reviews of a large number of FACs and GAs
- Gog the Mild, a first time contestant, with 1540 points, a tally built largely on 4 featured articles and related bonus points.
Between them, contestants managed 14 featured articles, 9 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 152 good articles, 136 DYK entries, 55 ITN entries, 65 featured article candidate reviews and 221 good article reviews. Additionally, MPJ-DK added 3 items to featured topics and 44 to good topics. Over the course of the competition, contestants have completed 710 good article reviews, in comparison to 387 good articles submitted for review and promoted. These large numbers are probably linked to a GAN backlog drive in April and May, and the changed patterns of editing during the COVID-19 pandemic. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.

Copyright issue
Your edits at League of Legends universe and lore, specifically this one, triggered a report at CopyPatrol.
I'm still trying to sort out what happened but I think it was triggered because you are copying a lot of material from League of Legends. that's permitted but it has to follow rules to make sure that attribution is maintained.
I'll copy below my standard response when I see such a situation, can you look into it and see if I'm off base?
This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.S Philbrick(Talk) 16:37, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Future of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Choir and Orchestra page
Hello, sorry for bothering you. In case you have not received a notification in my reply to the furture of the said page, I have copied the message here. Though some most of this message is directed at User:Ajf773, you have been involved in some decision making, and so I am letting you know of what I feel:
Just in reply to Ajf773, you mentioned that the CBS is not mentioned in the Catholic Cathedral's Wikipedia page. Granted, this is true. However, though it isn't much, the CBS is stated in the Wikipedia page of St Mary's Pro-Cathedral. The Basillica's Wikipedia page, I think should solely be about the building and its history, as to why the CBS has its own Wikipedia page ... just a thought. Also mentioned, the CBS aren't notable. I would disagree with this as they were given the status of cultural ambassadors by the New Zealand government and have been on numerous World tours, including performing for the Mass at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican (..."80 members of the touring group were invited to lead the singing in St Peter’s for the Papal Christmas Midnight Mass to inaugurate the Holy Year of Jubilee." [1]) and at Notre Dame in Paris. If they weren't notable, I don't think they would have ever been given this permission or opportunity to do so. On a domestic/local level, the choir and orchestra are well known within the various church and music organisations in NZ, as well as some orchestral players even employed at the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. I hope this has changed your mind somewhat, but I see two other wikipedians have suggested it be merged with a building that will in future be demolished - something the CBS will no longer be apart of. I hope you are well. Lord A.Nelson (talk) 04:46, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your help!! Lord A.Nelson (talk) 05:04, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Runeterra. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 08:02, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
I'm about ready to issue a disruption warning about all of these League of Legend cruft articles you keep trying to sneak under the radar. With the "Lore and settings" AFD headed towards a delete, and the list of champions being rejected by AFC (as well as past AFDs), I cannot believe you created the "Champion" article without knowing it would be opposed. -- ferret (talk) 22:56, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- What in the world are you doing with League of Legends universe and lore? I'm seriously considering a block right now. Stop. -- ferret (talk) 22:57, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- That article wasn’t being debating in the AFD, so it’s entirely unrelated to the AFD.—Prisencolin (talk) 23:40, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- Please, save it. You moved Runeterra to that article, then tried to move it back through draftspace and "redefine it" as the AFD didn't go your way. It's clearly an attempt to game the system, and if you don't stop, it'll result in a block. -- ferret (talk) 23:42, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- Well it looks like we're not going to resolve it here so I'm taking this to WP:DRV. Starting with League of Legends champion. If you actually read the article you'll see it's entirely different from the List of League of Legends champions list which was debated in previous AFD's.--Prisencolin (talk) 23:44, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

- Prisencolin, I'm looking at this by request and it doesn't look good. Here's the carrot: You need to back away for a few days and let the content processes sort out what should happen instead of taking this stuff into your own hands. What you have been doing is really disruptive. Please, stand down.
- Here is the stick: The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, I will block you. Please stop. --Izno (talk) 02:32, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- How am I supposed to know this was "disruptive" it's not even against any of the rules on AFD. The topic was entirely separate from the Runeterra article.--Prisencolin (talk) 03:46, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- You made a mess across both mainspace and non-mainspace pages and did so while there is a review of whether that content is appropriate. That's not against the "rules on AFD", that's not how we expect editors to behave. --Izno (talk) 14:13, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Izno: This was an honest mistake on my part. I didn't like the title that was being debated at AFC as it wasn't WP:COMMONNAME so I made the switch. Just because you clearly WP:DONTLIKE the topic of the articles doesn't mean it's a "mess" and I can't at least make draft space content about it, there's clearly more room for experimentation in that space.--Prisencolin (talk) 15:00, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm not here because I like or don't like it, which is irrelevant. You made an actual mess that I cleaned up. That's how people get blocked. Now that I see it, you need to stop talking about other editors. The next time you talk about an editor in an edit, I'll block for that too. --Izno (talk) 15:56, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sure I'll agree to stop doing that but the same goes for other users in the debate as well.--Prisencolin (talk) 15:59, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

- You made a mess across both mainspace and non-mainspace pages and did so while there is a review of whether that content is appropriate. That's not against the "rules on AFD", that's not how we expect editors to behave. --Izno (talk) 14:13, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- How am I supposed to know this was "disruptive" it's not even against any of the rules on AFD. The topic was entirely separate from the Runeterra article.--Prisencolin (talk) 03:46, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Carbon (Halo team) players
A tag has been placed on Category:Carbon (Halo team) players requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! WikiCup 2020 September newsletter
The fourth round of the competition has finished, with 865 points being required to qualify for the final round, nearly twice as many points as last year. It was a hotly competitive round with two contestants with 598 and 605 points being eliminated, and all but two of the contestants who reached the final round having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were
- Bloom6132, with 1478 points gained mainly from 5 featured lists, 12 DYKs and 63 in the news items;
- HaEr48 with 1318 points gained mainly from 2 featured articles, 5 good articles and 8 DYKs;
- Lee Vilenski with 1201 points mainly gained from 2 featured articles and 10 good articles.
Between them, contestants achieved 14 featured articles, 14 featured lists, 2 featured pictures, 87 good articles, 90 DYK entries, 75 ITN entries, 95 featured article candidate reviews and 81 good article reviews. Congratulations to all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
