DOA: Dead or Alive
[edit]The poster for Dead or Alive https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=File:DOA.jpg
that you originally uploaded was changed for reasons that were not clear. As far as I can tell the image you uploaded was the correct theatrical release poster that the guidelines say we are supposed to use. The person who changed the image failed to clearly explain what reason they had for changing it.
I'm hoping you can revert/restore the version you uploaded. -- 109.76.209.249 (talk) 13:27, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- There is a bot threatening to remove the original image[1] and leave only the more recent upload, which will make it more difficult to restore the original image you uploaded. Please comment soon, please restore the original image. -- 109.78.207.200 (talk) 14:55, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
Someone has overwritten the image again. Can you restore the proper image again please? -- 109.79.167.143 (talk) 11:49, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- Is it maybe even possible to get an image locked to prevent this happening again? There's no reason to change the image without any discussion (because there's no good reason for changing the image at all). -- 109.79.167.143 (talk) 12:00, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

The article Dead Clever has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non notable film
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DonaldD23 talk to me 01:45, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

Gary Grant (actor) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Gary Grant (actor), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. July 2023
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into University of Bolton Stadium. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. – robertsky (talk) 15:10, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Obviously this has been explained on the requested move page which is why I have requested the move. Or am I missing something here? I dunno. Quentin X (talk) 17:34, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

- Hmm.. You had requested to move from University of Bolton Stadium to Toughsheet Community Stadium. I checked on the two titles, as the template showed that the article had already been moved. It could mean one of two actions the could have been carried out: the page has been moved by a pagemover or admin, or a 'cut-and-paste' move was carried, of which you had done so. This is discouraged nowadays due to the loosening of... page moves rights. Honestly, instead of doing the 'cut-and-paste' move, you could have just moved the article over the redirect.
- I left the templated message here, because I am not sure if you are aware of the current general aversion of 'cut-and-paste' move. If you are already aware, I apologise. If not, do take your time to catch up to the latest community norms.
- 🍻 – robertsky (talk) 19:04, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Robertsky I created the Toughsheet page earlier this year to stop others from moving it prematurely which is the norm with football pages I find. I understand the 'cut and paste' policy but wasn't aware they had been tightened. Thanks for letting me know. To be honest, I don't appreciate the piling on of a very experienced editor by the other admin and the threat of being blocked. My sarcastic retorts to the other admin reflects this. One admin is enough to make the point I find and it's this kind of thing that I've found makes people leave Wikipedia historically. Just a viewpoint obviously. Quentin X (talk) 08:59, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- well... It's hard for sacarsm to transmit to through the screen. Sorry for piling on as well. I was amused when you replied with that kangaroo court paragraph, but kinda at a loss on how to reply to that.
- Also, you can now overwrite the redirect by moving if the redirect has only one single edit and is redirecting to the current page. This also means that truly stop premature moves as non page mover or admin, you will have do at least two edits on the redirect. – robertsky (talk) 13:21, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
