Changes of date format
[edit]Could you please explain why you change the date format in numerous articles? Is it about British and American English? Then such changes should not be done. Stefan Weil (talk) 09:52, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your question.
- In essence, for consistency. Some of the articles I've edited (eg University of Mannheim) already contain guidance of the form <<Use dmy dates|date=February 2023>>. Other articles contain a mixture of US-style (mdy) and UK/European/international style (dmy), and in these instances it seems sensible to standardise on one format per article. In yet other articles, particularly those on European subjects, the use of US-style dates is conspicuously inconsistent with the format used in neighbouring or related articles. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
