Your sandbox

[edit]

Hello Becky,

I saw your question at the Teahouse and looked at what you have been working on. I regret to say that the material in your sandbox is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. It is promotional material advertising your own small business, and that is unacceptable by Wikipedia standards. This is a project to write a neutral, well-referenced encyclopedia about notable topics. Unless your business venture has received significant coverage in independent, reliable sources, it is not appropriate to try to write an article about it.

I know that you are new here and unfamiliar with our policies and guidelines. And your purse designs sound interesting. It is just that Wikipedia is not intended to be a place to promote your own business. Sorry to have to inform you of that. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:34, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:RMChaffee/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ukexpat (talk) 13:00, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

Hello Becky,

On my talk page, you asked whether I can help you. If your goal is to have a Wikipedia article about your company, then I highly recommend that you work through the Articles for creation process. Your first and by far your most important challenge is to show experienced editors that your company is notable, exactly as Wikipedia defines that term. I recommend that you assemble a list of links to significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. Five good links are vastly better than 20 crappy links. Do not list blogs, social media posts, YouTube videos, your own website or writings, anything generated by a press release you sent out, or any of that kind of stuff. It won't fly here. Only list the best of the best of the "old school" media coverage your company has received. So that is "step #1". Let me know when you have done so, and I will give you my frank opinion about whether or not a Wikipedia article about your company should be written.
