First signs or symptoms can occur about three to six days after the initial tick bite, although it can have incubation periods of up to 20 days. Patients usually experience a two-staged fever and illness which can continue for three days, diminish, and then return for another episode of one to three days. The virus has the ability to live in the bloodstream for up to 120 days; therefore, coming in contact without proper precautions and the donation of blood are prohibited. this is the part that I am changining.

Colorado Tick Fever: Spread by the bite of an infected Rocky mountain wood tick. Common Symptoms: - fevers - chills - headaches - body aches - feeling tired.

if it is a more severe case you can also experience: - a sore throat - vomiting - abdominal pain - a skin rash.

biphasic fever: having a fever come in two phases, where one feels better in between the two fevers.

Treatments: There are no medications to treat CTF or a Vaccine to prevent the virus from occurring after the bite.

Incubation Period of Colorado Tick FeverL - The colorado tick fever virus can stay in the blood stream for up to six months - the onset of symptoms starts between the first and 14th day followed by a biphasic fever.
