Tip of the moment...
How to create a subcategory

There are two ways to create subcategories.

  1. Add a category tag to an already existing category page. For example, add the text [[Category:Animals by common name]] to the bottom of the page Category:Apes by common name. Then "Apes by common name" will show up as a category in the list at Category:Animals by common name.
  2. If the sub-category page does not already exist, then you have to create it first (see the tip How to create a category). For example, after you create the Category:Apes by common name page, then you click edit and add [[Category:Animals by common name]] to the bottom of it.
To add this auto-randomizing template to your user page, use {{totd-random}}

Hello. It looks like you are in the process of building this informative article. However, I noticed there are no sources listed. Please cite some reliable sources for this article. Otherwise, the article may be tagged as a candidate for deletion at some point in the future. A full list of citation templates is available here. If you are already in the process of adding sources now, please continue to do so and ignore this message. Cheers. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 15:56, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your message. I agree that the site is not a reliable source for the biography, but it seems entirely suitable for the very limited material for which I linked to it in footnotes: 1984 as the date that some people started seeking beatification, and two places of interest. As for the general link, to say that there is a bibliography there, making it clear that it is a Catholic site, did seem useful and sufficiently objective. Regards, - Fayenatic (talk) 01:16, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I removed the POV tag as no-one explained why it was still justified. If you have more complaints about the article, by all means change it, or just let me know what's still unacceptable. - Fayenatic (talk) 20:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Umayalpuram K Sivaraman

A tag has been placed on Umayalpuram K Sivaraman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nicholas II

Please refrain from removing material from the Nicholas II wikipedia page. It is considered to be vandalism. It would appear you wish to deprive others access to information that is directly relevant to the said personage. Finneganw 23:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalise (or delete portions of) page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Nicholas II, you will be blocked from editing. Finneganw 23:36, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

User:Finneganw PLEASE DONT PRETEND TO BE AN ADMINISTRATOR I know you are not. Either you give a suitable and meaningful reply on the discussion page before reverting my edits or accept my suggestions and STOP editing the article.-- 01:55, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Your addition to WP:3O

Hey. Just wanted to give you a heads-up on adding information to 3O. Requests are supposed to be neutral and succinct. Additionally, as a way of maintaining neutrality, requests should be signed with five tildes so only the date comes up. I've neutralized your comments on the page, and someone should be by to help you shortly. Thanks! — HelloAnnyong [ t · c ] 03:44, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Pondheepankar, let me tell you one thing. I can neither favor you nor the Karnataka editors team. I added the tags to Gounder article because the article has been poorly written and lacks enough references and I feel that it is apt. I dont have any commitment to any individual or people; my job here is to enforce NPOV. I advice u to be constructive by adding more references and improving the article than threatening to wage a "tag war". Thanks -- 14:10, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Coaching

I saw your request for admin coaching. If you don't already have a coach, I'd be interested. I've coached and nominated 3 admins so far. Would you like to be my fourth?

I have a few of conditions though, and they are that you...

  1. watch your coaching page closely, and reply to every post there in a timely fashion
  2. complete all the assignments I give you to the best of your ability. If you have trouble with an assignment, by all means, let me know, so we can discuss possible solutions and options.
  3. take the advice provided by my fellow coaches and your fellow students, to heart (this will be a group effort)
  4. don't go for your RfA, or accept an RfA nomination except from me. I'll nominate you when I believe you are ready.

Please let me know if you agree, and we can get started.
I look forward to your reply.

Ekoji I

A tag has been placed on Ekoji I, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Vanity

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sydney Know It Alltalk 14:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Brahmin Tamil

Can I ask why you tagged Brahmin Tamil with proposed deletion? It appears to me as an article about a genuine dialect, that is notable and verifiable. I'd be interested to know the reasoning behind adding the tag. Cheers. Mostlyharmless (talk) 22:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

RE:Impressive Work

Thanks. Actually Wikiproject Dravidian civilizations was chosen to promote Tamil, Telugu, Malayalee, and other similar groups. Thus, Dravidian civilizations is a family of related ethnicities and languages in South Asia. There is not much info on these groups as compared to the information covered on Indo-Aryan civilizations. There is a lot of work to be done, which is being done. Furthermore, Wikiproject Dravidian civilizations can be used as a platform to create other Wikiprojects focussing on a particular civilization such as that of the Tamils, or Telugus, or Brahuis, and so forth. Therefore, I will consider the idea for a Wikiproject Tamil civilization. Please let me know if you are interested. Regards. Wiki Raja (talk) 05:31, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
