I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make silly mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful, and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.
Good luck! -Chairman S. 08:54, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Open Source Days
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Open Source Days requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Toddst1 (talk) 16:42, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]With reference to your question on my talk page; I could not possibly comment in advance on the page you plan to create. But I deleted the previous attempt, by another editor, on the basis that it was promotional. If your article is clearly non-promotional, and equally clearly asserts notability then it might survive; bear in mind that articles about companies and organisations have quite a high casualty rate.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:05, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. ViperSnake151 Talk 03:41, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
User_talk:ViperSnake151, thank you for taking the time to post an excerpt from the guidelines so I have a clue why you removed my edits. Maybe you could have embedded the link to that and given a little bit of explanation of why you think I needed this reminder? For example, why is it better to remove that Ben Kingsley starred in SyFy Tut this week? And, why not have his quote on that subject? Robin Rowe (talk) 06:46, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Responding to your question at the Teahouse
[edit]Hello again, Robinrowe. I received notification that you had addressed me in a message at the Teahouse. I see that you subsequently deleted the message because it got put in the wrong section of the page. Please try again, and be sure you refresh the page right before clicking "Join this discussion" (or "edit"); that should ensure that Wikipedia doesn't accidentally give you the wrong section to put your response in. See you (hopefully) there! —GrammarFascist contribstalk 18:36, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
