Continuing this comment from ANEW:

The more I look at the situation, Rockchalk717, this is a content dispute. It takes two to edit war, meaning you were as much as fault as the IP for edit warring—and could just as easily have opened the talk page discussion.

I'm giving the IP some slack because they're new and don't know the ropes. Hence the requirements for warning them and why it's a good idea to give guidance. For an editor like yourself, with ten years experience on Wikipedia...frankly, I expected better.

I didn't block the IP, and I'm not going to sanction you after the fact either. Were you to edit war further on the page, that would be another matter entirely. So to borrow a little terminology from football, consider this your first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty toward disqualification. —C.Fred (talk) 00:13, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

@C.Fred: Lol nice analogy. I know I could have been better. Handling content disputes is one thing I know I truly need to work on and I am trying to improve and just when I think I'm doing better, I mess up. And like I said, take it to article talk. Then you can show it's many against one instead of one on one. Honestly, one of your saving graces here was that mixed in with your reverts was a revert by a(nother) seasoned editor.

And IMO, I don't like putting CGD in the name field. I'm just not sure where a better place for it is right now. That's why I've asked at the article talk and template talk to generate a broad(er) consensus. —C.Fred (talk) 12:02, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

NY, NY

Regarding your revert back to "New York, New York" from "New York City, New York", I used to think the same, but then it seemed that non-Americans found it strange, then I though the general convention was with NYC e.g. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. No worries. I don't think I'll bother anymore with NYC in general. Some don't want it linked per MOS:OVERLINK, some just want it without the state in the infoboxes because of WP:USPLACE (which applies to page titles, not necessarily page content or infoboxes), then some want to list the borough e.g. Manhattan, Brooklyn, etc.—Bagumba (talk) 08:29, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

@Bagumba: Gotcha. Before I had changed it someone had removed the link citing OVERLINK as the reason why and I've seen NYC unlinked a couple other times (but I think those were articles about politicians, Donald Trump being one specific example of this). I think OVERLINK might be getting misinterpreted because it appears New York is being mentioned as a suggestion not that it has to be delinked. NYC is just weird to me. Sometimes the boroughs are treated like actual cities sometimes they even go specifically to the neighborhood, like I've seen Harlem and the Jamaica neighborhood in Queens mentioned as a birthplace before. @Sagatorium: That depth chart is unofficial and it says so at the top. Using something that clearly says "unofficial" as a proof shouldn't be done here. Now, I'm well aware (because I'm a Chiefs fan and I watch every game) that he has started all 4 games at right tackle, he is, however, listed as a guard on his Chiefs.com roster listing. I put G/T to provide his listed position and the position he is playing. I did this in the hopes of compromising with people changing his position to tackle but you seem to be totally unwilling to compromise on it and instead keep removing guard. Finally, I didn't call your edits unconstructive. I selected "disruptive editing" in the Wikipedia plugin I use to post warning and for some reason it put unconstructive.--Rockchalk717 01:40, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

Whether you deem it not constructive or disruptive doesn't matter. Hasn't he played right tackle? He's not playing both at the same time. He was a guard before switching over and the Chiefs' roster just didn't updated it yet. The depth chart did. Sagatorium (talk) 01:56, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

@Sagatorium: Again, stop referring something that clearly says "unofficial" on it. His official roster listing says guard. That seems to be the part you keep forgetting. Players play positions other than what they are listed at all the time. Sometimes there's a valid reason (like Carlos Dunlap is listed at LB/DE despite exclusively playing DE so he can have the number 8 which isn't allowed for defensive linemen), sometimes there isn't. It's confusing to me why you have such an issue with the inclusion of his listed position and the position he's playing.--Rockchalk717 03:16, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

@Ad3elprzwiki: Gotcha I did remove that. I removed it because the person that died during the climb wasn't a notable person. We do try to avoid mentioning non-notable people by name in articles. @Ad3elprzwiki: It's more the name being there that I had an issue with. I suppose I could have just removed the name and just said he was climbing with a friend that also died. However I noticed you called him by his full name. After saying a person's full name at the beginning of the article, they should either be referred to by their last name or pronouns only per WP:SURNAME. Oh okay, thank you. I hope I didn't come across as argumentative, but I did think it was significant enough to mention. I was going to acquiesce if you still objected to it, because I know I have a lot to learn, and I didn't want to ruffle feathers.
