Braves
[edit]I wonder if you're old enough to remember the Braves years in Milwaukee, which someone compared to a comet... they came, they made a spectacular show, and then they were gone. Milwaukee was a minor league city for most of its existence, and is again, thanks to the way the Brewers have been run. Anyway, I lived in the south for several years in the early 1990s, and developed a fondness for the Braves. In 1995, I wondered if I was the only one north of the Mason-Dixon Line who was rooting for the Braves in that World Series. It's just a shame that they have had so many great regular-season teams that have had a tough time in the short post-season Series'. They remind me in some ways of another favorite team of mine, the Baltimore Orioles of the late 60s / early 70s. Wahkeenah 2 July 2005 21:21 (UTC)
If you are into history, it would be worthwhile sometime to pin down whether it is accurate to say the Braves are direct descendants of the Cincinnati Red Stockings of 1869-70. I've believed it to be true for years, but more research might be needed. Wahkeenah 2 July 2005 21:21 (UTC)

Calvin Johnson (American football) Featured Article push
[edit]I'd like to nominate Calvin Johnson (American football) for Featured Article status, but I'd like the article expanded a little bit before I do. Since you're one of the primary editors of that article, I figured that you'd be a good one to ask. My primary concern is comprehensiveness; it needs more prose/information, especially in "Early years" and "College career". Also consult suggestions in the recent peer review, the ongoing WPBIO A-class review, and these examples of FA-Class athletes. Once the article gets a bit longer, I'll nominate it at FAC, and I hope you'll help address reviewers' suggestions. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 01:13, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
