Post towns

[edit]

Please check post towns and postcode districts before you change them!

You recently entered incorrect post town details at LS postcode area, Tyersal, Rodley, West Yorkshire, Garforth, etc.

The post town article explains that Royal Mail has an official post town for each postcode district:

The post town is part of every official postal address. It is usually based on the location of the relevant Royal Mail delivery office and is not necessarily the same as the local council area or the nearest town, so you cannot just guess the post town based on nearby places.

I hope that is helpful. Thanks for your contributions. Let me know below or on my talk page if you've any questions.

Cheers

You have just now edited Sherburn-in-Elmet and Monk Fryston, and have again edited LS postcode area, incorrectly listing Selby as a post town for LS25. The only post town covering the LS25 postcode district is Leeds. Please stop making inaccurate edits. Please do not enter incorrect information on Wikipedia. If in doubt, please double check your facts and cite sources, or ask an editor for guidance. — Richardguk (talk) 18:46, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
