- (talk page watcher) the deletion of Victoria Asher does not have to do with her being a woman/Spears' assistant/whatever, but it's just that the page was deleted through a a discussion due to the lack of significant coverage of her outside of Spears or Cobra Starship (which is required for anything to have an article). and besides, the redirect was fully protected which prevents anyone but admins to edit the page, including me or scottish; pages also cannot be undeleted due to the subject's request no matter how popular they are. 💜 melecie talk - 09:27, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

On the Waukesha parade incident
I apologize for bringing this to your talk page, this concerns a thread by User:June_Parker on Talk:Waukesha_Christmas_parade_attack which in my opinion was closed prematurely. The OP's comment appears to have been compltely misunderstood. I do not believe it is an unreasonable request to mention in the Waukesha incident's article how right wing media peddled false narratives about the driver, and that there's evidence that the Buffalo shooter believed those narratives. The article on the Buffalo shooting already mentions criticism of right wing media for the role they played in promoting far right conspiracy theories, and that section is going to be expanded soon. 46.97.170.50 (talk) 08:23, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- As the close said, until there is RS coverage for that, it's a moot point, and the talk page isn't the location to have general discussions. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:41, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- Isn't it a bit too early to declare that there are no reliable sources? This is an ongoing story, and reliable sources have already mentioned both the waukesha incident as one of the reasons for the attack, and the responsability of right wing media in spreading false narratives. 46.97.170.50 (talk) 08:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- And if such sources exist, connecting the parade attack to
the responsability of right wing media in spreading false narratives
then that would be fine to discuss on the talk page for the purpose of determining content. Simply chatting back and forth about it without sources or specific improvements to the article isn't the place of a talk page. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:59, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

- Talking about the edit request I just answered? I generally give pretty short replies like that for image requests, because the likelihood of getting an applicable fair use rationale is basically nil. Warhammer fantasy lore
Fun series. El_C 16:56, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- I'm a big Warhammer fan, although I prefer 40k to fantasy. I've played a lot of whfrp, 40k inquisitor and Necromunda. If you ever find yourself playing Necromunda, play zealots. Flamers are OP as fuck. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:18, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
- Boo, science is boring (except for that one electron in the back). Magical thinking is where it's at! But I'm with ya about the flamers' warp thingy being OP. El_C 23:51, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
- 40k is all about magical thinking. No one knows how any of the technology works, so repairs and maintenance are religious rituals. Orks have so much magical thinking that it's literally how all of their technology works. If there are enough orks in one area that believe they can make a spaceship, then they can make a spaceship out of whatever is around, and it will work. Everyone knows red is the fastest color, so red ork vehicles are faster than the others. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:11, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- Right, they paint it red so it goes faster, and so on, I get that. But star systems and interstellar travel is still too sciency. Wood Elves should not be piloting spacecrafts! Maybe dwarves (space fortress!). El_C 00:23, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- I've always liked the depth and moral ambiguity of the setting. When the "good guys" sacrifice an innocent life for to sanctify every bolter shell fired by a space marine, and sacrifice countless psykers just to keep a dead god emperor with some semblance of life, it leads to interesting moral choices in the game.
- I played a game of inquisitor once where my team got assistance from space gypsies (who have some special name in 40k that I can't recall right now). After we used the information they gave us to complete our mission, we turned them in to the custodes for providing the information to us, since they didn't know we were an inquisitor cell. They could have been convinced by anyone to provide that assistance, and that's not good enough. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:54, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- Blood Ravens? For me, it's all about immersion. I'm okay with steampunk tech in a quasi-medieval fantasy setting, but it usually makes less sense in a space opera (barring some notable exceptions). It's also a matter of scale, having like a thousand inhabited planets vs just the main one + chaos realm. It's just simpler, and I am a simple simp. El_C 01:07, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

More Republic of India noir
O'olish Amana does return and so far he's kinda awesome. Unspeaking of Republic of India noir, I watched the first two eps of Dark Winds and found it quite promising. Getting some True Detective (season 1) vibes, which is glued. BTW, Jessica Matten (red link), the actress who plays SGT! was also the lead in Tribal (seen both seasons, am a fan), where she also plays a Tribal cop. And like in that role, she's beautiful and vulnerable and fierce. El_C 12:31, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I guess it was deleted back in 2018. Un'd! El_C 12:53, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sure the character isn't as bad as it seemed, but the person reading used a John Redcorn style voice, and it didn't come off very well. I think I saw something about Dark Winds recently, but I don't think my wife was interested. There was also a Amerind sheriff in Outer Range. Seems like it's becoming a bit of a trope. I should be finishing Running the the Demon on my ride home today, and I already have the next book ready to go. If I do the whole Shannara series, I should be set for a few months. The Yadav caste generally follows Vaishnav traditions, and share Vaishnav Dharmic religious beliefs. They are the worshippers of Lord Krishna or Lord Vishnu. Yadavs are classified under the Kshatriya varna in Hinduism and remained in power in India and Nepal until 1200-1300AD, before the arrival of Muslim invaders. 106.67.88.90 (talk) 20:22, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

List of One Piece characters
Hi there. I know you're not an admin, but I was wondering if I could ask you for some advice, since you recently replied to a semi-protected edit request on Talk:List of One Piece characters. The IP range you responded to, 2601:40:3, created an account, Weeebatowj, but was indefinitely banned for vandalism shortly thereafter. Now, it seems like the same user/IP range is continuing to try to add their edits to the page. I reverted it, giving my rationale under their edit request on the talk page. Their sources are mostly unreliable, with Screen Rant being considered only a "marginally reliable" source at best. And even though this is approaching WP:OTHERSTUFF territory, even the One Piece fan wiki doesn't consider the addition official yet (sorry, I'm not sure how much you know about One Piece). As expected, they reverted my revert today, and I imagine this will continue to go on. Ultimately, is it the IP's responsibility to gather consensus for the addition, or will I have to let it slide eventually (to avoid getting banned for edit warring) and gather consensus for my side of the argument?
Also, this is ban evasion, right? I'm not sure if I can report them though...would that seem like I'd be doing it in bad faith, given the above situation? Wani (talk) 14:23, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- It's likely ban evasion. I suggest you request protection at WP:RFPP, and possibly reach out to Widr to see if a WP:DUCK block is in order, as they blocked Weeebatowj. Starting a talk page section about the addition, even if the other user is editing in bad faith, is a good idea too as it shows that you're trying to use good faith dispute resolution methods. If you're still having problems, I'd put together a short list of diffs showing the disrupting and the similarity between the IP and the blocked user, and make a short report at WP:ANI. If you need any other help, feel free to reach out. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:41, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- Wani, pinging, in case you're not watching this page. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:42, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
Possible GA?
Based on your Lawson couple work, I thought you might enjoy working on John Mercer Langston, another individual active in African American activism around the same time. The article seems very short for the importance and stature of the man it is about and you have a good knack for finding information in newspapers of the era. — Ixtal ( T / C ) ⁂ Join WP:FINANCE! 21:15, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- Jesse Lawson was actually his lawyer, so they're even connected that way. I keep meaning to wikilink him in Langston's article. I think the next article in going to work up to GA is Frelinghuysen University, which needs a lot of love, and then I was going to create articles on the notable people tied to that. I may get to Langston at some point during that I don't have a lot of time, and I don't know when I'll get to writing more, but rest assured, it's in my radar. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 21:28, 23 June 2022 (UTC)

Susan Collins Page
Hi, I am 2600:1017:B409:6009:6D3F:DF0A:677A:7182 (talk) 15:37, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Collins Historian. I saw your comment to build concensus to resolve the dispute. I have not been given feedback from Administrstors to address the removal of content. I continue to respond to all feedback but I am unable to get resolution. How should I respond to my only feedback which was “get off your soapbox” when I added historical events with citations including primary source citations and direct quotes? Earnestly willing to work with administrators. I am open to edits but believe the article is missing substantive content on Dobbs v. Jackson and the role of Susan Collins in this ruling surrounding her floor speech, and immediate criticism for her vote, and now her statements punlically that she was “misled.” The content can not exclude the fact of her floor speech, the decisive vote she justified within her floor speech, and the now historical events of the leaked draft and her vote against codifying Roe, and then the final decision of Dobbs v. Jackson. I respect the reverence of adding to a sitting senators profile but at the same time Wikipedia has an obligation to address the legacy of Susan Collins even updating the current events of what is already mentioned. It is widely argued that this is a pivotal moment in Susan Collins career and I think the bar is set pretty low in the article which already mentions her votes on the court in the edited section.
- I have no opinion on the article content, I simply made a procedural close of the edit request, as there was an objection. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:50, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
britannica
Hello SFR. I couldn't find anything at rsn about the Britannica website. Could you point me to any discussions on this source? I've used it in the past, might lean to avoiding it if there's something i don't know about. Thanks. (Also, I'll cop to not paying attention on the Gallo age discrepancy that's out there. That's my bad. Apologies.)Nohomersryan (talk) 23:28, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, nevermind. I just saw the listing at WP:RSP. Sorry again for bugging you. Nohomersryan (talk) 23:38, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- No worries. Happy editing. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:39, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- It's listed at WP:RSP, WP:BRITANNICA links to the specific entry. There also needs to be wide coverage. I actually had to check RSP, because I thought I had seen it somewhere. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:38, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
Barca request
Thank you I provided two links to support the request, 108.21.235.188 (talk) 17:58, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
Should we just AFD it? His stupid calendar isn't notable and I don't think he really is otherwise, there's a lot of crufty PR pieces about him but nothing that's really in depth or independent imo. PRAXIDICAE🌈 19:47, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I think it would probably be kept. This isn't a bad source, this is local, but has some depth, this is in-depth and independent. I think there's probably enough independent SIGCOV out there that he meets GNG. :( ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 19:53, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Praxidicae, based on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Beyond the Farthest Star (film), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Heritage Falls (film), and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Power Sword (2nd nomination) I'm pretty sure it'd be kept. He has far more coverage than any of those topics. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:20, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Very important news!
JR joins the Cuban Federales (for the Revolución!), gets arrested (peacefully) for terrorism: JR's perspective, RW's perspective. You heard it here 3rd! El_C 23:45, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- The real terrorism is from that massive daikon I pulled out of the ground today. About 2 feet long. I finished Angel Fire East. Was pretty good, although "Gypsy Morph" might be the stupidest name for a macguffin in fiction. Having read the original trilogy ruins the ending a bit, because I know that her Jesus magic baby doesn't actually save the world. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:55, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, super-dumb name. Wait, what's Jesus magic baby's name again — sorry, two books later, I forget (my own name). El_C 00:04, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Little John, only not really, because he turned into Nest being pregnant. It mentions she is planning on making the baby John Ross Freemark. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:39, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Post the daikon pic for the masses! El_C 00:05, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I'd get blocked for vulgarity. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:40, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, okay, I'm remembering now. I thought maybe it was tied to the Shannaras or Allanon or something, but I guess not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ El_C 01:28, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Big dick daikon! Anyway, I have 82 years of experience, you know how it glows. El_C 01:30, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not a fan of uploading a lot of stuff to Commons, because then I can't delete it later. Also big daikon will probably steal my image and use it in marketing. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:38, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- But it's Commons, they love pr0n! El_C 02:21, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Very important update!
The bail hearing went great! There was a mass protest to Free the Cubans! and, of course, grenades (clip). But there were so many people gathered in one place, the voip went down for the entire server for like 20 minutes. Anyway, in a surprise twist, the honourable Judge Crane has released JR and the Cubans to the custody of a "true patriot," Capt. Wrangler. So now they live with (and annoy) him, and are forced to do various chores. All's well that... El_C 08:46, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- A very important update from me as well, I found a private zoo nearby that gives off some Tiger King energy, but with less tiger shooting. They sell animal feed right at the entrance, and you can hand feed and touch almost all the animals, so my wife and I were feeding cavys and oryx and capybara and tapir and such. I did see one animal being treated by a vet, so that's good at least. They also had two zedonks! I didn't know feeding and petting a zedonk was on my bucket list, but it was, and now it's not. "Reliable Sources" for Oxfordian theory
I made my comments on the Talk page as appropriate. What do "reliable sources" have to do with any thing?
The anti-Oxfordians happily denounce ANY Oxfordian source as "unreliable." Is that your view also? Jamesdowallen (talk) 11:38, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Looking again, I see that you objected to the 3rd of my three edits and then reverted against all three -- two of which you probably did not review! Please "Assume Good Faith" and "Take Neutral View". Thanks in advance.
I have reverted your revert. (It seemed easier than typing in the whole new section again.) I'm happy to let you change the "answered=no" to "answered=yes" (albeit an incorrect change :-) BUT please do not make me un-revert the other changes again.
Thanks in advance. Jamesdowallen (talk) 11:55, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- Please familiarize yourself with WP:NOTAFORUM. Complaining about the article, and Wikipedia in general, while providing no sources, examples, or suggested changes is not a constructive use of the talk page. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 12:19, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

- YES! This award is well-deserved. ScottishFinnishRadish is a shining light around here. I am always happy to see their edits and work. Congrats! Oh, and if you like topicons you are now eligible to include the Editor of the Week topicon somewhere on your userpages or talk. YAY to ScottishFinnishRadish!!! - Shearonink (talk) 16:01, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks everyone, I appreciate the recognition. I was thinking about topicons, because I have a couple GAs and DYKs I could put up there too. I heard EotW comes with a 20% raise, is that true? ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 16:15, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- It does? Huh, I didn't know that. Wow, I'll be living high on the hog, the life of Riley, be on Easy Street and all the rest. Especially with the back-wages I am certain I am now owed... Shearonink (talk) 16:24, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

- Right? Although, in my defense I've implemented well over a thousand requests. I think the edit request accept to decline ratio proves the effectiveness of page protection. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 21:19, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
