I have made several major improvements to parchayi.net/interest.php so that it provides unique information and also stopped placing links to it on wikipedia because editors don't like it. Sgd2z 16:38, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your question, some of the sites to which articles link might have some for-profit elements. I think the distinction between 'information' and 'spam' comes from the overall function of the pages that are linked. The pages on parchayi.net show book titles and links to buy through Amazon, and little else. It's obvious that the intention is to profit from this when your links offer nothing more than a list that can be obtained for free from other sources and have Amazon affiliate links plastered all over them. "Is it more important to have the information accessible to wikipedia users or is it more important that nobody should be able to recover the cost of running their websites?" It's important that Wikipedia remain impartial and not be abused by people seeking to gain profit, like yourself. If you want to recover the cost of running your web site, do so through some other means, and leave Wikipedia out of it, please. And please don't leave me any more messages about this issue, as I have nothing more to discuss about it. If you want to continue to try to break Wikipedia policy and want a sympathetic ear, you'll have to find someone else to talk to. -- Ajnewbold 23:00, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the confusion over your links to parchayi.net on various article pages. When you said "if you feel that linking to author complete bibliographies is some kind of link spam" what you failed to understand is that it's not the bibliographies themselves that are spam, but the multitude of Amazon affiliate links on those pages. Someone profits from this form of advertisement, and Wikipedia, as an online encyclopedia, does not provide free advertising. I'm sorry if there was any confusion about this. -- Ajnewbold 22:13, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just to make sure you understand the process, you are free to remove the "Proposed Deletion" entries from this article. The process is that there are two methods of deletion, proposed and AfD nomination. Someone may "propose" deletion and, if it is uncontested (i.e. the tag is not removed), the article will automatically be deleted in about five days. If the tag is removed, then the option remains to nominate it for Articles for Deletion where full debate can take place. My impression is that this website is too new and unestablished, and would probably still end up being removed, but you're free to explore that option by removing the proposed deletion tag, and taking it to a full debate. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Sgd2z! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Rose Connors - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 19:53, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Rose Connors, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rose Connors. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. MBisanz talk 19:31, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Medical Automation

[edit]

The article Medical Automation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, unsourced since inception in 2006, edited by COI account of same name

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joseph Massucci, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
