Re: GoYB and borrowing
Thanks so much for helping; it's much appreciated since I've suddenly gotten a lot busier than I expected to be. And no problem at all about the header and archive box; I think I originally got the header format from Merbabu (another U2 fan), and the archive sections from Talk:U2. It's amazing what you can find on other pages, eh? I'm always looking out for neat new userboxes too! MelicansMatkin (talk) 19:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Unknown comment
(moved from the top of this user talk page to approximate time frame here...) None of these things below here are to do with me... I can only assume that somebody else is signing things with my username. I've had a few "password reset/request" type e-mails since September 2006 up until 2010 (and ongoing); so I presume that someone wants my username. So anyway, if you have some kind of issue with something that you think I've done, please bear in mind, that I might not have done it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Macdaddy (talk • contribs) 08:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:04, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Autopatroller
Hi Terrasidius, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature should have little to no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 05:10, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Once again, thanks for your offer to serve as administrator. You might want to take a look at WP:GUIDERFA and WP:PASSRFA for some pointers on the process and tips on providing information for participants. I should let you know that typically participants are looking for candidates with a fair amount of recent activity (i.e. over the past year) that shows the candidate is up to date on current guidelines and policies. Please note that if you wish to withdraw your RFA at any point, you are free to do so (just make a note on the RFA itself). Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Best of luck, –xenotalk 01:55, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- You might consider withdrawing at this point, taking on board the constructive advice, and coming back at it in 6 months with consistent editing and more experience in admin-related areas. –xenotalk 21:36, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for the advice. I suppose I might as well stop the vote. Is there a way to stop it but keep the page, so I can go over it? Thanks again ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 02:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC) (copied from user talk:xeno)
- Yes - as Katerenka noted at my talk, the RFA will still be available for viewing. If you wish to withdraw, simply make a comment on the RFA below your nomination statement to that effect and someone will close it. Cheers, –xenotalk 04:20, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Saw that you withdrew - good move. I look forward to providing my full support in a future bid. Feel free to drop by my talk page if you ever have any questions. Best regards, –xenotalk 18:57, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
I've taken my place in the gauntlet. Dlohcierekim 02:16, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Your RFA
I noticed you recently withdrew your RFA. Please don't let this discourage you or alter your editing habits here. If you read through the neutral section, you have a lot of future supporters. I, and all of your future supporters encourage you to educate yourself in admin areas and policies (vandal patrol, np patrol, admin reading list, etc.). I look forward to seeing you again at RFA in the future. Best of luck, Tyrol5 [Talk] 19:29, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
User rights
You asked me on my user talk page for rollbacker rights. I've reviewed your account and I see no reason not to, so I'm granting you rollbacker and I've also granted you "account creator" rights as you seem to be a reliable editor who should have these privileges (I don't believe in withholding them from anyone who is capable of handling them regardless of whether they expect to need them). Personally, I never found rollbacker particularly useful, when I used to do some significant anti-vandal work I used automated tools that were normally available to all registered users.
I noticed your RFA above and took note of your rather specialized work. I recommend getting more broadly involved, particularly in deletion and policy discussions; if you find some areas that particularly interest you, specialize in them and do some non-admin closures of relatively uncontroversial discussions and if an admin overrides you or you get other complaints ask what you should have done (ask the admin who took the overriding action but also ask some independent admins for thoughts too.) While mainspace edits are important to show an understanding of the project and its ultimate goal - which is good articles - as well as the ability to work with other editors and while user talk edits are important to show communication, Project Space (/Wikipedia:) edits are important to show that you are already engaged in the management of the project. Template space and category space edits are also useful to show technical understanding, though not imperative in my mind.
If I can help in any other way, let me know and if I don't get back to you within a few days feel free to hit me with an e-mail.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 14:53, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- For a further example, see this analysis of my editing, keeping in mind that I've been on a rather extended unplanned wikibreak, but the ratios should be about right nonetheless, and keeping in mind that as an admin I have to spend a lot more time than I'd otherwise like on user talk pages telling people why I did something, why I won't, etc.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 15:06, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there, I was coming to this user page to confirm that it was you who requested an account for the account creation tool. Upon reading the message from Doug, I have removed your account creator right, for now, as WP:PERM clearly states The account creator flag is granted to users who are active in the account request process. The flag removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24 hour period. It also allows users to make accounts with names similar to other accounts. The account creator flag is only given to users who participate in the ACC process and may be removed without notice should a user's participation in the account creation process cease. Due to the fact that you haven't been given access to the tool or hit the 6 account creations in 24 hours limit, you currently don't need this flag. Please kindly confirm that you requested access to the tool. Regards, The Helpful One 20:24, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion, TEO is right, I haven't been involved in ACC in a long time and didn't remember this restriction; highly recommend you get involved in this area as well as the various project space areas where policies are discussed and just as importantly, where they are enforced. This will give you a better handle on how consensus is determined, which isn't as simple as it sounds. Your steps below to get involved in ACC are on target. On the rollback, I just want to add that although anti-vandal work is important to the project and important to understand, it's really not an area to go too deep into. Anti-vandal fanatics tend to become pretty deletionist and can be looked at potentially "block-happy" when the make an RFA attempt. Better to get to know the vandal arena and the tools available but focus on block and deletion and noticeboard discussions as well as policy changes and contributing to RFAs. I've beat this horse silly now, so again, good luck and let me know if you need anything else.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 16:46, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

- Hi Terrasidius, thank you for your confirmation.
- If you'd like to join the mailing list as suggested in the above message, please feel free to do so, and I should be able to accept your request there too. Hope this helps, The Helpful One 20:37, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Helpfulone, Ive followed the above steps, although Im a bit confused, can I utilise the tools? I seem to have lost them. Thanks for the help :) ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 00:40, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there, I've accepted your request to join the ACC mailing list. To create an account, you actually don't need any special tools or user rights. The account creation interface is located at http://toolserver.org/~acc/acc.php - which you now have access for. Additionally, you can have a read of Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide - which is a guide explaining how to use the interface and how to go through the process of creating an account. If you need any more help, feel free to ask. Hope this helps, The Helpful One 09:57, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Good article nomination of The Future Sound of London
Hi there! I reviewed your WP:GAN for FSOL. Unfortunately, it has a number of issues that prevent it from being marked a good article, and I think it will take more than a week of work to fix the problems. I've left a detailed review here. Please contact me if you have any questions, and I'm definitely willing to help you further improve the article myself, as I really like the band, and in fact, that was why I reviewed the nomination in the first place. Take care. —Torchiest talk/edits 14:13, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Greetings from Jesper Kyd
Hi there, I noticed you have made a lot of contributions to my wiki page and so I thought you would be the best person to ask. I would like to remove the old bio section text with a more up to date text as well as add some newer links and music samples on my wiki page. Is this something I can do myself without any bot or user that currently contributes to this page objecting or reversing my updates? I have made some updates lately that went through without being removed but often when I try to add a link pertaining to for example the Assassin's Creed short films I have scored, the text is always reversed back. I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to best go about updating my page.
Cheers,
Jesper Kyd (wildvset) - you can also email me at: kyd@jesperkyd.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wildvset (talk • contribs) 00:28, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kabyle people, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Germanic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of I Can See for Miles (Yunie song)
The article I Can See for Miles (Yunie song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Richhoncho (talk) 13:16, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Thanks.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:40, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
New deal for page patrollers
Hi Terrasidius,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi. This month The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There is over £3000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. Wikimedia UK is putting up £250 specifically for editors who produce the most quality new women bios for British women, with special consideration given to missing notable biographies from the Oxford Dictionary of Biography and Welsh Dictionary of Biography. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate independently this is also fine, but please add any articles created to the bottom of the main contest page even if not competing. Your participation in the contest and contributing articles on British women from your area or wherever would we much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!
