The Mole (Australia season 6) assignment locations
[edit]Hi,
Do you know the exact location for the two assignments "Scales of Justice" and "Chain Gangs"?
I'm guessing Bradleys Head. I've tried to Google Map it and I figured it was very close to the Manly area.
I know the first few assignments took place on Stockton Dunes and the next few in the Blue Mountains. I am from Sydney and I know those areas well.
Regards, MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:35, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks I do believe it was filmed there & Thanks for your help, I watch "The Mole" live by the way TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 10:37, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- I live in the south-western area of Sydney (Liverpool area) and I frequently go places, but I haven't been to the Manly area in a while. If you do live in Sydney, then which area do you live in?
MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:53, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't live in Sydney, I actually live in Melbourne.TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 10:55, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- Who is your early suspicion for the Mole? I have these people in my mind: Sam, Alex, Jayden (aka. Mozzie), and Aisha. Maybe Kerrie could be in the fray as well.
The Mole episode (17/7/2013)
[edit]It was good to have the Hostage Rescue assignment back in this series, this is what makes the series captivating!
My top suspects: Sam, Shaun, Alex and Aisha.

This is fine, I was intending to put the logos of all 4 "Gruen" logos on The Gruen Transfer but This was not done & I was wanting it deleted TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 12:46, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

The Mole episode (24/7/2013) [Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 1]
[edit]Well, that was worthless. No money won or lost. Simply the worst assignment in the history of The Mole EVER.
My main suspect is now Alex. Did you hear what he said at the end, that "he will be there at the very end"? Sounds like Bob from season three.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:38, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- I loved the Maze challenge from season two/five, but I think what Seven should have done was bring back The Weakest Link and put those nine contestants on the show! Like they did in season three!
- It'd be interesting how those nine would handle Cornelia Frances!!
- MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:49, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Nice! You should know Victoria very well then. I think next week the contestants move onto Queensland next.
- Also, I think the two assignments in the Geelong area could be a clue as to who the Mole is - possibly Erin? MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:02, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
The Pinata assignment is fun! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Player comparisons from other seasons:
- Nick = Marc (season 3), Nathan (season 4)
- Aisha = Alaina (season 3), Petrina (season 4) - I'm not suggesting that Aisha could be the mole, but I strongly think she IS the mole.
- Shaun = Bob (season 3), Shaun (season 4 winner)
- Erin = Liz (season 5)
- That's what I think. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:13, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
I will laugh if Hillal gets terminated tonight! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:20, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- The Mole's elimination that season (Petrina) was a trick to try to get the contestants NOT to suspect her - in fact, nobody suspected her until after the final quiz!
- Main suspects after tonight's episode: Aisha, Erin, Shaun, Alex. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:25, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
The Mole episode (31/7/2013)[Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 2]
[edit]Hi, this is to let you know that this week's episode is NOT a double-header, this is due to a Seven News investigation into the Essendon supplements controversy which will air in your city at 8:30pm tonight (right after The X Factor). As a result, The Mole will air at 10:15pm in Melbourne, but here in Sydney we get it earlier at 9:45pm (after Criminal Minds).
That Seven News special will air in Sydney after The Mole (i.e. 10:45pm).
At this stage, I am not expecting a termination tonight.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 23:33, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
That PYRO assignment was intriguing as, but I don't vividly call it as I was only nine when the show was on and I may have been too young to remember it. I know that there are full length episodes on YouTube, though.
You may also remember in season three, they had the assignment where the helicopter team threw everyone's baggage out to an unknown destination, and the rest of the team, using only the directions they were given from the helicopter crew, had to try to retrieve it. They failed, and lost five grand from the kitty.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:21, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
In fact, Cornelia Frances was the host of The Weakest Link when it was on in Australia. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:31, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
The Mole episode (31/7/2013)UPDATE[Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 2.5]
[edit]The Mole will NOT air in Melbourne tonight, due to the aforementioned Seven News special, that's according to The Mole Australia's Twitter account.
The show hasn't been rating well (hence the move from three nights a week to Wednesday nights at 9:30pm), and the only previews air just before Criminal Minds ends.
Viewers in the southern states I think won't be able to access the episode that is aired tonight on PLUS7, and it won't be long before this show is gone for good.
That would be a shame though, I have been following this show since I was eight. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:52, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
Big Brother
[edit]I don't really follow Big Brother, as it's not my type of reality show. I like those involving adventure and talent (think The Mole, The X Factor, the Amazing Race, etc.)
There was no The Amazing Race Australia this year, due to The Mole coming back. But if the Mole does NOT come back in 2014 (it highly won't), then TARA MUST be brought back.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:09, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (7/8/2013)[Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 3]
[edit]As you may be aware Melbourne is getting a double episode of The Mole tonight, after last week's episode did not air due to that Essendon drugs controversy.
I will keep updated on the assignments, and maybe there may be a termination tonight. If the trend continues, a female will be eliminated tonight - girl, boy, girl, boy, girl?
One of the assignments will take place where I just went paintball recently!
I hope you enjoy tonight's double episode (in Sydney we get the second half of what you will be getting).
MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:09, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
One terrible mistake I made last week during editing - I should have never released the details of each of the first two assignments, now the Victorians, South Australians and Western Australians will know what happened... it's like someone giving away who the Mole is before it's even been announced!
But I will still press ahead with editing for this week's assignments, and hopefully one of the Victorian editors will fix up my work later on.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:25, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
It's season 6. The site for that location is a west Sydney suburb called Penrith.
They had the white water-rafting assignment in season three and it was really scary seeing one team fall off (it had a 72-year-old contestant, who was eliminated in episode two and thus missed out on the Weakest Link assignment later in the series).
The Mole, though, wasn't on that team. Alaina was that season's Mole.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:29, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Seven HAD to do it, because the announcement on the outcome of Essendon's drug controversy can be expected any day now. It's big news where you are and around the country.
If a woman gets terminated tonight, it's probably going to be one of Ally or Kerrie. But what if Kerrie gets terminated - this would mean that a new treasurer would have to be appointed (or a new twist could take place - she could take all the money and run!).
MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:33, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
In fact, can you actually use to cover up the following:
The Exemption Defence assignment. I will edit inside those and leave it that way until someone releases it at 11:30pm tonight.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:07, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Okay, when you "edit source" for the Week 5 section on the page, you will see the "Exemption Defence" assignment, which was made public, will be bracketed by <!-- and -->. TRY TO AVOID THIS, I AM STILL KEEPING TRACK OF THE ASSIGNMENTS.
DO NOT "EDIT SOURCE" for The Mole Week 5 section until that assignment is aired into your region.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:13, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
No worries.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:21, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, it started to rain during the episode.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:33, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Not that I know of. Also, I'm assuming that those two earlier assignments have already been aired in Melbourne, please reword those two assignments if you see fit.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:37, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
I have absolutely no idea. I think exemptions and freebies have been overused in this series, and it's damaging the tension of the series.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:50, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
No, but there was a similar assignment in season 3, yes. The three snipers (Alaina, Pete and Yasmin) were playing for exemptions, not defending them. Also, in that season, each person they shot would be $1,000 into the kitty; in this season, if they were shot, then $5,000 would be won (for each sniper that was shot this series).
MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
By the sounds of it, either one of Erin or Aisha is the Mole. I think it's Aisha. IT HAS GOT TO BE HER!!!!
MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
This series hasn't been rating well. If it does get revived, Grant Bowler MUST be brought back, he's the main reason why the show was successful in the first place.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:12, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
The Mole episode (14/8/2013)[Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 4]
[edit]The show is at 10:30pm tomorrow night, disappointing ratings have not helped.
Thank god it is only a single episode, but by showing only single episodes weekly instead of the pre-planned three-a-week, it's stretching the series out and we're not really sure when the series will really conclude.
My money is still on Aisha, Erin or Shaun as the Mole. I hope you enjoy tomorrow night's episode! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:30, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
It's not exactly an "eviction" as in Big Brother, actually the one with the lowest score goes home (you obviously know that).
The elimination trend has gone female, male, female, male. If this continues, one of the females will go home tonight, and as Erin and Kerrie are exempt from elimination, and Aisha is my top suspect, Ally will be eliminated.
My younger sister watches the show and says she hates Ally! Anyway, enjoy tonight's episode. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:27, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
What hasn't helped is the last few weeks:
- 31 July/7 August 2013: The Essendon supplements controversy exclusive that aired in Melbourne.
- 24 July 2013: The Melbourne Victory vs. Liverpool match that was aired on 7mate and overlapped into The Mole.
- 17 July 2013: The third and deciding State of Origin match that was aired on Nine and also overlapped into The Mole. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:34, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
I strongly doubt that there will be a seventh series, as this series has been disappointingly rating very low in the ratings. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:37, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Another twist this series. There was a challenge in season three where Bob was extracted from the group and he had to predict whether the rest of the contestants would hit any targets or not. From memory, that season's Mole (Alaina) was the only player who hit the target, and told the others to do something that would make them miss. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:40, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
In my childhood I was actually afraid to even abseil down, but as I got older I managed to conquer that fear. I can't wait to see Hillal take on this assignment! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:45, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Another show from my childhood. There are some videos up on YouTube, so you can check them out. You may also remember Wipeout, The Big Arvo, and many more.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:49, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Go Go Stop just disappeared from our screens without the kids knowing. It's Academic was deemed to be more educational, given the quality of the show which is hosted by Simon Reeve, Weekend Sunrise sports presenter. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:54, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Just a name that I made up. 5 represents the day I was born, 9 the month (September), 91 means I was born in 1991. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:56, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
It's Academic is undoubtedly the best kids' show going around at the moment. Every week I would watch in the hope that my old primary school would appear, but it hasn't occurred as of yet.
Back to The Mole, and this assignment is stupid. They've already lost six grand from three correct predictions! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:00, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
The exact location for this assignment is near where my cousin lives! I'm Don, by the way. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:04, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
The Mole must have enjoyed that assignment very much. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
They can't do even something very simple. It could have taken a group of teens about HALF THE TIME to complete that assignment, in my opinion. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:21, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
You're a 2000 kid then. Now Erin and Kerrie are about to lose their exemptions or money from the pot! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:24, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
That's it. Erin is now my top suspect. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:27, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
She just wants Ally to leave. She thinks Aisha is the Mole. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:30, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Actually, I had a dream that Erin was the winner, Shaun was the Mole and Sam was the runner-up. I don't know who will win, all I'm focusing on is who is the Mole at the moment. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:33, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Kerrie gave up the exemption and paid the price for it. Like you, I now wonder who the new treasurer will be. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:37, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (21/8/2013)[Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 5]
[edit]Season 3 was based on the Gold Coast. They will also have the Minesweeper challenge tonight, similar to that season. Ironically, the Mole that season (Alaina) was the only player to even win any money in that assignment! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:42, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
I've been up to Queensland twice, once in 2004 and as recently as 2010. It's a beautiful state, no doubt. The second time I stayed at a hotel on the Gold Coast where the overlook of the Gold Coast was great! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:46, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Finally, they won some money for the first time in a long time. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:50, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
It finished late in Melbourne? Was not aware of that. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:53, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, at least they won some money this episode after going winless last week. Again, freebies and exemptions are being overused this season. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:57, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
These people just cannot stop arguing. Jokers used in Australia for the first time, something originated in Belgium (the country which invented The Mole). MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:03, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
At last, more money won. Even Shura is excited. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Now there's set to be some drama. Somebody has stolen some money from the pot. Will be interesting to see how that unfolds. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:10, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Nick is the new treasurer, so it'll be interesting to see how he handles the entire thing now. Maybe Kerrie stole some money when she was terminated? Who knows! Also, I think Sam told Aisha to dig up that nothing hole just so to play the game safe. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:14, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
It's back to school for the contestants now. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:18, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
I will laugh if the contestants answer these ridiculously easy questions wrong. Ireland was the most obvious answer, thank god they got that. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:23, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Get ready for an explosive conclusion to tonight's episode. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY GOT THE COUNTRY QUESTION WRONG! THAT IS VERY OBVIOUS TO EVERY SINGLE LIVING PERSON ON EARTH !!!! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:28, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
It's getting very obvious that one of Erin or Aisha IS THE MOLE. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:31, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
This show just wants to make viewers shout things like "He/she is the Mole!" "why did he do that" etc... such drama. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:33, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
End of discussion until next weeek. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:37, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
The Mole episode (28/8/2013) [Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 6]
[edit]Unfortunately, no termination tonight. The rate the series has been going, terminations are scheduled for the following episodes:
- 4 September (sixth termination)
- 25 September (seventh)
- 16 October (eighth)
- 6 November (ninth)
- 13, 20 or 27 November (reveal)
This is stretching out the series. The show should just wrap up altogether.
Normally when there are three contestants left there aren't much assignments. Also this means less arguing. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:34, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, at least the good thing about tonight's episode is that it will continue on the Gold Coast, and probably after the sixth termination it will move up to Queensland. Okay, no more discussion until the episode starts at 10:30pm. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:39, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
We're underway! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:31, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
This assignment has the potential to be disastrous. The Move could make his or her move here. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:36, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Good move by Nick. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:38, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Ally loses the challenge on the first card! My reaction: Sucked in Ally!
By the way, The X Factor's finals have begun airing. I've even tried to "identify" the Mole from the crop of contestants! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:42, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it seems Carlton are in the box seat, as they are provisionally eighth on the ladder. They are in the stronger position, North play Collingwood on Sunday, and the Pies are more likely to win than Carlton.
I think the Mole will allow Shura to keep dealing until he or she gets the red card. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:50, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Aisha IS the Mole. She just allowed Shura to keep dealing those cards until she got the red card. She lost the team $4,000. MARK MY WORDS: AISHA IS THE MOLE. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:52, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Aisha has lost the team too much money:
- That card dealing assignment where she lost the team $4,000.
- She got that geography question wrong last episode (which is the largest country in the world by population)
- She also took $3,000 away from the pot.
- She also got that distance question wrong in the tram assignment a few weeks ago.
- She also says in her confessional that she was good at geography in high school.
Also, she pretended to fumble with her shoelaces in the very first episode.
THIS POINTS TO HER BEING THE MOLE! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:57, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Not sure. Only paying attention to the assignments. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:03, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Sam and Ally should have tried to unfurl that flag as early as possible. But still my top suspect is Aisha. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
He was probably the most determined of them all. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:08, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Some assignments take place on separate days. And yes you are right, most days on The Mole never exceeded 23 or so.
The canals bring me back to an assignment in the third season where they had to find their bags which were dropped from a helicopter! (it was the same episode as that Weakest Link assignment) MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:15, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Again, discussion and argument dominates the assignment, just like it did in the bag search assignment back in 2002. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:21, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
It appears another $20,000 will go down the drain. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:25, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Nick and Sam could be moling the team here. But I will stick by my hunch that Aisha is the Mole. I won't be surprised. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:29, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Nevertheless, they still won the assignment. Anyway, termination next week! Who will go? Intriguing. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:33, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
The bets for the exemption are back next week, and so is the termination. Discussion finishes for this episode. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:35, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

The Mole tonight (4/9/2013) [Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 7]
[edit]Yep, seems like Sea World to me. There was no promo in Sydney but it should still be on tonight.
Are you also following The X Factor? I'm playing "The Mole" with the contestants - thinking that one of them could be the Mole - that person is trying to stop the others from performing to their best on the Sunday night shows! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:27, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Hillal and Shaun are already at it early. But still my top suspect for the Mole is Aisha. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:41, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Aisha says that the Mole will try to bid the maximum money out of the pot. I also heard Sam say that someone may have bid $70,000 out for something - that could be the most money ever lost in Mole history.
And for the record - the lowest ever amount won on the Mole was in season two - $100,000; the Mole's most successful season was 2003 when $427,000 was lost. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:49, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
This could end up as the most catastrophic assignment in the history of The Mole. Back in the Paradise season, they had the chance to win $9,000 but lost $18,000! ($1,000 for a correct answer, -$2,000 for an incorrect answer) MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:57, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
They could only end up with $7,900 by the end of all this. Watch out for a clue here - the Mole WILL bid the maximum amount possible. Have you paid attention? MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:02, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Shura says that "THIS ULTIMATE EXEMPTION" will take someone to the final four, suggesting that there won't be a "final three" this season - rather, there would be one winner, one Mole and two runner-ups. That does not make sense. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:06, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
$7,900 remains in the pot. That's over $100,000 lost in one assignment. This could lead to the lowest ever final total amount in the history of The Mole worldwide. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:08, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
$125,000 is the most money ever lost in one single assignment in the history of The Mole WORLDWIDE - and this is the amount that equates to a standard 12th question on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
Sam will be copping it from everywhere now. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:13, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Worst episode/assignment ever. It's going to take a mileage to make up all that money. Discussion closed for tonight. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:43, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Election and Finals [Discussion with MasterMind5991: Episode 8]
[edit]Well, well, well. I didn't see Freo's win over Geelong coming. This will now mean that:
- Assuming Collingwood beats Port tonight, the Cats will have to beat Collingwood for the first time since the 2011 Grand Final, and then that would lead to a preliminary final against Hawthorn.
- Hawthorn's so-called Kennett curse is well known, the Hawks haven't beaten the Cats since the 2008 Grand Final.
- Sydney's path to the Grand Final has somehow gotten easier, they don't have to face the Cats but they will have to travel to Perth to play Freo in the preliminary final (assuming they beat one of Richmond or Carlton next Saturday night).
- Hawthorn and Fremantle have the week off.
I think Tony Abbott will win the election, I can't see Kevin Rudd making a comeback.
And as for The Mole episode that is on this Wednesday 10 September, termination is first, and then the assignments. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:23, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Make sure nobody leaks anything. I anticipate a result by between 9 and 10pm. I will skip watching the footy tonight. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:28, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Everybody just loves to hate Collingwood. They are the Maria Sharapova of the AFL (in my opinion). Pies gone - maybe Bucks is gone as well? Who knows.
Port now goes on to play Geelong - the same team that thrashed them by 119 points way back in the 2007 Grand Final - it won't be a repeat, for sure. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:31, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
That's also possible. Sydney now have an easier path to the Grand Final, but they'll have to divert to Perth, rather than Melbourne, to return to the MCG for the Grand Final.
I can see them beating one of Richmond or Carlton, but Freo away will be the biggest challenge. The Swans have not lost in Perth since 2009 (round five vs. Fremantle). The two teams also had a draw back in Round 8. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:42, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Me - I am a Saints supporter but I must acknowledge that this year hasn't been a good year for the team, finishing 16th (lowest since 2000). MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:46, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll add it on later. Discussion ends here. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:53, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, came home late. This match is going down to the wire! MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:43, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
Carlton are the lucky losers from the Essendon drugs scandal, and are making the most of their second chances. Richmond's first final in 12 years will be sadly short lived. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:50, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
Carlton win by 21 points, but their finals campaign will end with yet another interstate loss. They lost to the Lions in 2009, the Swans in 2010 and the Eagles in 2011 (will they lose to the Swans again in 2013?)
Discussion ends here. Back on Wednesday for The Mole.MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:56, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
North Melbourne article
[edit]Maybe bias isn't the right word. But, firstly, comments such as "A sorry saga" and "emerging as a force to be reckoned with" are violation of WP:POV; secondly, language such as "with shock regularity", "last round's shocking loss" and "finally achieved a win" are violations of Wikipedia:Tone; thirdly, a theoretical prediction of what would have happened if all close losses were reversed is a violation of WP:CRYSTALBALL and is altogether unencyclopedic in content; finally, going into such excessive detail for a season which will ultimately be considered unremarkable in the 140 year history of the North Melbourne Football Club is a violation of Wikipedia:Recentism.
I have undone the edit again on these grounds. I do encourage you to write the article 2013 North Melbourne Football Club season to give a full appraisal of the season, and I believe these articles add value. But please use a more appropriate encyclopedic tone, reference it properly, and don't go into hypotheticals about what might have been. Aspirex (talk) 09:37, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (11/9/2013)
[edit]I have requested a protection of the page. Also, tonight's episode is set to be delayed by about 20 minutes, as Highway Patrol needs to air after this Malcolm Naden investigation.
I will need to go to sleep by 11:30pm, as I have work the next day. Please keep track of the assignments after then, thanks. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:04, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
No worries, and then I'll reword it the following day or whenever I have time. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:08, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Only registered users would be formally notified. I've also noticed that Wikipedia notifies its users almost the same way Facebook does. Only those IP addresses DON'T.
I'm sick of these spoilers saying that either Erin or Aisha is the Mole, but I am sticking with my hunch and that is Aisha. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:13, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Can you somehow try to get this applied on the page? MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:16, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Highway Patrol has just started. This means The Mole is now 10:50pm, termination first up. I hope one of Shaun or Ally goes. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:22, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Seven ditched TARA for The Mole, and this has clearly not worked. TARA will come back next year, I hope. Hosted by none other than Grant Bowler. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:26, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
If The Mole had been getting the ratings, then The X Factor would not have started as early as that last Monday in July (traditionally, it starts the last Monday in August or something). Speaking of The X Factor, I'm loving Redfoo as a judge! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:38, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
The Mole: Sam's chances are now even bigger now that he has "that" exemption. But he might drop off in concentration and get terminated after quiz nine, you never know. Aisha is still my top suspect for the traitor. Erin might also be there as well.
The X Factor: Third D3gree are looking good. I don't like Jai Waetford at all. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:43, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Sam will cop it from everywhere this episode. It's about to start in a matter of a few seconds from NOW! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:53, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
I wonder how they are going to win back all that money after last week's catastrophe. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:55, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Let's see how much money they win tonight. Bring on the termination! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:57, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Sucked in Ally! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:01, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Welcome to Thirlmere, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:03, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
But then again, they could still lose money. Now, Shura has the chance to buy the exemptions off Sam! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:05, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
I still think that Sam will not get back the respect of his peers. He brought an exemption for $70,000, and only gave it back for $15,000/ That's betrayal. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:10, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
A question in the assignment: Who are the reigning AFL premiers? Easy. Answer: Sydney Swans. Still remember that match very well. The one that got away from Hawthorn. Nick (from Brisbane) got that one. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:21, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Anyone who missed that question must be living under a rock. Anyway, we're back in New South Wales, and this means near my hometown! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:25, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
They're slowly rebuilding the pot as we speak. I'll still watch the episode, but I may not do any more editing. Or maybe I will, until the episode ends. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:28, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Final assignment of this episode I think. We're back on the beach, I'm guessing it's Wollongong. I now have a gut feeling that Aisha is the Mole and that the winner will be male. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:34, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Normally on Friday nights (and maybe Saturday nights) I provide live commentary of the AFL games on Twitter (you can follow me at @mastermind5991). Discussion could take place at the quarter, half and three-quarter time breaks. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:35, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Sometimes though I am not at home on Friday nights (or I am very busy with other commitments) thus I cannot do my job. But I don't get paid to do it, it's just a casual job that I love doing. I also provide live tweets on Grand Slam tennis as well (and will do for the 2014 Australian Open). MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:40, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Tension is about to reach boiling point. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:45, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Half of the group remain but still the arguments double. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:48, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Just on a footnote - the Mole page has been protected until next week's episode. MasterMind5991 (talk) 00:58, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
AFL finals and The Mole
[edit]This match is proving to be as close as I expected. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:22, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Hawthorn fans are doomed. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:25, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
iPhone 5S and 5C come out, the Kennett curse will continue and there is sadly no termination tonight. But according to EPG the show will not start until 10:41pm MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:51, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Had the series gone as planned (that is, three nights a week), then the series would have finished in the last week of August. But it seems the longer the more interesting. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:59, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Let's see how this pans out, on the assumption that termination takes place every third week:
- 25 September (7th)
- 16 October (8th)
- 6 November (9th and final termination)
- 27 November – REVEAL (ten weeks from now)
So yes, you are right. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:07, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Well, that's how it is. In the winter, league, union and the AFL are the dominant sports, in summer, it's cricket, soccer and tennis.
Do you follow any tennis by any chance? MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:18, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
26 weeks in a year is sufficient. Players also need rest especially from the unrelenting summer heat. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:29, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Soccer is less physical (no body contact like tackles and all that). MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:38, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
That place is the Blowhole near Kiama. I have been there numerous times! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:45, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
That's the point of the series. One of them is supposed to stuff up the team, whilst others are trying to act like The Mole just to put people off the scent.
Random fact: Shura Taft is a Hawthorn supporter – he will probably be suffering on Friday night! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:54, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
There's even a Hitler parody in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WCZ721-Vw8
Anyway, all hell is about to break loose in this assignment! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:59, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
The word they are about to spell out is "LIAR", which could be a clue as to who the Mole is. In all those promos that aired long ago, Aisha says "I'm not a big, fat liar". THERE'S THE CLUE! Aisha IS the Mole! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:03, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Shura says something like "$5,000 please" so it could be suggested that the assignment has been failed. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:09, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
This is where they're gonna lose it. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:13, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Hillal's freebies have gone missing. Could he be terminated next week? You never know. All hell will break loose in the next segment.
Non-Mole related, and I know that you don't follow The X Factor, but you may have heard a lot of criticism about one of Redfoo's acts, Joelle. People are saying that she cannot sing, and that people only voted for her based on looks.
This show is about SINGING, not LOOKS. Joelle should have just gone on Australia's Next Top Model instead or something.
Back on topic, and the South Coast is one of my favourite destinations. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:20, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Well, that's stupid. Maybe we'll find out more later on.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:25, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Northern territory: Darwin, Katherine, Marrar, Alice Springs
- Western Australia: Perth, Geraldton, Fremantle, Broome, Bunbury, Subiaco, that's all I can think of from my head now.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:28, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Hillal suggested all the AFL teams, which would be a smart move, but not all of them could be listed. NSW and ACT are next!
- NSW: Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Port Macquarie, Grafton, Bathurst, Granville, Kogarah, Hurstville, Hornsby, Strathfield, Parramatta, Penrith, Bankstown, Cronulla, and so on.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:36, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Another failed assignment. Nothing won this episode and they remain stuck on $62K. TERMINATION NEXT WEEK! That's all for tonight, now hoping that the Kennett curse continues this Friday night. MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:47, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Geelong vs. Hawthorn
[edit]THREE-QUARTER-TIME: Geelong lead Hawthorn by 20 points. The curse is set to continue! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:50, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
The Hawks have been terribly inaccurate. 10.10 plays 14.6. This could be a factor in the final quarter. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:53, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Buddy has just kicked a goal for the Hawks, and the deficit is now just 14 points.
Anyway, you may have noticed on The Mole on Wednesday night that Hillal was missing his freebies. Do you think this is an attempt by the contestants to get him off the show? Speaking of which, remember termination is THIS WEDNESDAY 25th SEPTEMBER. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:58, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
The curse is just another 16 minutes away from extending to a twelfth match. That's unless the Hawks can produce somewhat of a comeback. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:01, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Buddy's kick is touched on the line. There's no coming back for the Hawks and the curse is still alive. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:07, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Gunston missed that very easy shot. The Cats still lead by four points with just five minutes remaining! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:16, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
And all of a sudden Shaun Burgoyne kicked the goal and this match is still alive when it was thought it was dead. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:17, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
The Kennett curse is over, and Geelong's odd-year dominance is over. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:25, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Fremantle vs. Sydney
[edit]Fremantle are off to the Grand Final. Melbourne is OUT of the NRL finals :O MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:53, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Well, well, well. Fremantle are off to their first Grand Final in history but how will they handle it? Ironically, West Coast's first ever AFL Grand Final was against Hawthorn in 1991! (the Eagles lost on that occasion) MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:58, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
The Dockers are going to fly loads of its fans to Melbourne, but I think the Hawks fans will outnumber them, as they tried to do last year MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:00, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Geelong fans will probably be cheering on the Dockers, as they don't want those Hawks to win after they ended the "Kennett curse". MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:02, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Hawthorn won't want to lose this one, neither does Ross Lyon (who is fast becoming the Andy Murray of AFL Grand Finals). MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:07, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
I would not say so. Sydney have been ravaged by injuries whilst Freo had the week off. It will be a great Grand Final next week, no doubt. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:11, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
They won't do it. Just over a minute left. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:16, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
It's official - Fremantle are off to the Grand Final! Superb performance from the Dockers tonight. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:18, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
I knew Fremantle would win, given its advantage on the Swans (week off and stronger players not injured), but just how much was going to be the answer.
Here's some trivia - for the past five years, the team that won their preliminary final by the bigger margin goes on to win the premiership. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:26, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Brownlow Medal
[edit]Who is your tip for tonight's Brownlow Medal? My prediction is that Gary Ablett will win. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:42, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Whilst Ablett remains the favourite, just who will top their clubs will be the most interesting. Who do you think will poll highest for North Melbourne? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:00, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Ablett will come out on top, Selwood second and Pendlebury third. That's my prediction. The discussion will end at 8:10pm as I will need to tweet vote by vote. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:04, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Thing is, I'll need to do two matches at a time, that's the tweeting limit in terms of characters.
Who do you think will be terminated out of The Mole on Wednesday by the way? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:08, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Gary Ablett, Jr., 2013 Brownlow Medallist with 28 votes. Selwood second with 27 votes and Swan with 26. SO CLOSE TO A THREE-WAY TIE! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:52, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (25/9/2013)
[edit]Tonight's episode will feature a termination, but only after this gross show about a man with the biggest testicles finishes.
I am watching 7Two instead, I can't stand myself to watch that gross show.
And thank god Joelle was terminated from The X Factor last night! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:24, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
Grand Final
[edit]This is very close! Fremantle kicked five goals in the third quarter. Anyone could win the game now. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:35, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Hawthorn will be very motivated to win this match, as will Ross Lyon, who was unsuccessful three times with St Kilda. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:41, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
The margin is now three goals straight in Hawthorn's favour. Freo need to get the ball forward otherwise they're going to lose. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:44, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
One man who is stopping Fremantle from scoring is Brian Lake. Hill has just scored for the Hawks and the premiership is all but theirs. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:49, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Fremantle must score one goal every 2:15 MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:54, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
No chance. Hawks by 16 with two minutes left. Freo must score once every 40 seconds, impossible. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:03, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Hawthorn are deserved premiers. Fremantle far from disgraced. I think Shaun or Hillal will be terminated on Wednesday. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:09, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (2/10/2013)
[edit]It's now three months since The Mole started. Note that had the series gone as planned, then the series may have finished in the week of August 19-23.
There will be a termination tonight, after which only four people will remain. If there is a termination next week (9/9), then the finale will be on 16/9. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:26, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Sam says that he knows that one of the girls IS the mole, but is unsure which one! For mine, it's Aisha. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:34, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
True. I'm trying to interpret what they have to do in the assignment but I cannot seem to focus, as my mother is on the phone and is talking too loud. Please correct the descriptions (use proper grammar) if you see fit. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:41, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Now I'm starting to understand the assignment. My mother's just ended her loud conversation on the phone. Thank god.
By the way, what do you make of Buddy's move to the Sydney Swans? MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:46, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Sydney are all but premiership favourites for 2014. I won't be surprised to see them win the flag next year.
I think Shaun will leave tonight, by the way. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:51, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Hope you're still watching as we are seeing the most heated argument on the Mole ever! MasterMind5991 (talk) 13:01, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
The Mole tonight (9/10/2013)
[edit]Tonight is the penultimate episode. Next week is the final, and according to TV Week it's scheduled to go for 90 minutes. Had the series gone as planned the finale would have been on Thursday 15 August, The X Factor would have begun the following week. So it's fair to say that the demise of The Mole was what led to Channel Seven's decision to fast-track The X Factor. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:23, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
I am depressed but I'll still chat. TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 10:26, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
What is wrong? Is it because The Mole is coming to an end?
Also, the Kangaroos are looking at luring Nick dal Santo to the club from St Kilda. Your thoughts? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:31, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
That is terrible to hear. You might also remember the story of Sheniz Erkan from very early last year, when she committed suicide after being severely bullied at high school. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:44, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Hmm. Sheniz's story is very sad, no one wants to remember it.
Tonight's episode is set to be intriguing - there's only two assignments and the cards in the second assignment will feature the names of ALL the contestants! Wonder what twist is next. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:56, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
I have somehow been able to torrent all of the episodes so far, dating back to the very first episode! Search "mole australia torrent" and you should be on your way to downloading all the episodes and enjoying them from the start!
Discussion will pause until the episode begins. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:02, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
This has taken so long and had the series not been pushed back then this would have finished about two months earlier. Sam has been tricked into giving away his freebies – I will laugh if he is terminated tonight! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:50, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Based on what you may have heard from Hillal and Shura, you may want to reword the "Freebie Refund" assignment, as I could not catch all of it.
It will also be interesting to see ALL the sabotages next week! The last three seasons, they revealed all the sabotages in the final segment after the mole, winner and loser were revealed. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:54, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
I'll be working on the "Mole Sabotage and Hidden Clues" section next week, after all has been revealed. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:59, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
No worries. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:05, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
The possible earnings is now just over $1 million! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:09, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
She looks ugly (in my opinion, no offence intended). By the way, games are about to be played out here! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:16, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
This game is going down to the wire. As you say this could determine the entire outcome of the game FOREVER. My gut is that Sam will get terminated tonight.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:30, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
The Mole is one of Aisha or Erin. I think it's Aisha. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:37, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Bye bye Sam! Didn't concentrate enough after that ultimate exemption. So Erin can be ruled out as The Mole. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:41, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Next week's final episode is set to be a cliffhanger. All the contestants will be back! So we haven't seen the last of Sam.... or ANY of the other contestants!
Goodbye. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:45, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
The Mole GRAND FINAL (16/10/2013)
[edit]The Grand Final is on tonight, and ALL WILL BE REVEALED! MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:25, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
I got no idea. And The Mole is very unlikely to return next year after the dismal ratings it has received this year. Also keep this date in your diary: October 31 – the draw for the 2014 season is revealed! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:06, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
In fact, have a read of this article, these are some of the things the AFL should consider next season:
[1] MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:12, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Suicide is a sad topic. The most recent notable suicide came in Melbourne last year when Sheniz Erkan took her life just short of her 15th birthday.
Anyway, there will be an assignment tonight when all the contestants are reunited! Adding to the twist, it will take place where THE VERY FIRST ASSIGNMENT (yes, that's right) took place! But do they hinder or help? (as per the sneak peek) MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:22, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Of course. I've been to the Gold Coast twice and it's really beautiful and picturesque. The second time I actually stayed in one of the hotels on the coast, the first I was staying in Brisbane with a family friend. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:29, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
They say Queensland is the sunshine state. I've also been up to Brisbane, once I had dinner at an underground restaurant in the CBD. Yes, if I could then I would move to Brisbane. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:32, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
This is actually the 21st and final episode. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:41, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
The 21st and final episode of The Mole. But yes, this is the 13th and final discussion, and how ironic is it that it's the unluckiest. I will follow the A-League, but very likely won't provide any Twitter commentary. I will, however, return to Twitter for commentary on the 2014 Australian Open and of course the AFL. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:47, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Good idea. Also, I have a feeling that this final quiz could be like no other. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Season two of the AFL discussions! For sure! However, I have purchased a GWS Giants membership and thus will be going to a maximum of three Giants home games this year. I will, however, be cheering on the opposition as it's way too obvious the Giants will lose.
Bring on the final assignment of The Mole! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:57, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
The two assignments in Geelong could be a reference to Erin, who could possibly be The Mole. But the show never visited Geraldton, which is Aisha's home town.
My heart is pumping, and as I hoped, the final quiz is here! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:07, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Answering your AFL-related questions: No, GWS will NOT go through the entire season winless (though I think they will win about 2-3 games), I can't see a premiership headed North's way (their most recent flag was in 1999), Collingwood's premiership window is all but shut, Carlton and Collingwood won't brawl, and I think Adelaide Oval will do a good job hosting AFL games in 2014.
I am extremely nervous at the moment! And I cannot wait to see all the sabotages! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:14, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
I think it's time for Geelong to rebuild. They won't win a premiership next year, the favourite would have to be Sydney, no doubt. Bring on the final moments of the game! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:23, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
I cannot think right now. Judging by the sneak peek, Hillal might be the winner. I don't want another female winning (four of the five previous seasons have been won by females, with only Shaun winning The Mole in Paradise in 2003). MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:27, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
This final quiz is unique. I'd try to buy a new house with $180,000 or maybe a new car. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:31, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Final quiz is done. ALL WILL BE REVEALED IN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES! MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:43, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
I thought Aisha was the Mole all the way through, but then my hunch on Erin in week four or something ended up being correct. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:48, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
That was the worst Mole recap I have ever seen. Hopefully there's more clues later on. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Congratulations to Hillal, commiserations to Aisha and well done to Erin for playing a good game. Well, that's all for The Mole, possibly forever. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:59, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
International Rules series
[edit]Just wondering if you would be interested in following the International Rules series which starts tomorrow morning, 6:30am on 7mate.
It might be a little bit early to wake up, though. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:46, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
That is good work. Keep it up, and hopefully you'll get it done in next to no time!
Nick Dal Santo is now a North Melbourne player, your thoughts? MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:01, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
I got no pay TV so I'm just stuck with watching whatever's on Channel Seven. Can't wait for the International Rules and Rugby League World Cup, though. And of course, the release of the AFL fixture for 2014. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:18, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
I will not be online to discuss the matches live, as it will be too early (6:30am) and normally I am not in front of a computer.
The next live sporting event I will cover will be the summer of tennis, which I know you are not interested in. There's also the Melbourne Cup, but I don't really care who wins that. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:32, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
You told me you didn't have an interest in tennis, didn't you? Or must I have been mistaken? MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:36, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
In the meantime, you might like to continue the episode guide on your own page. Whilst I'm watching all the old episodes of The Mole which I have torrented and downloaded. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:50, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
R.I.P. The Mole
[edit]Unfortunately, as expected, The Mole will not return in 2014, due to the low ratings that this season received. However, The Amazing Race Australia will be back for a third season next year.
The move by Channel Seven to not show TARA this year in favour of The Mole has clearly backfired.
Anyway, Ireland won the first Test and Australia are in deep trouble. MasterMind5991 (talk) 23:33, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Channel Seven put so much effort and budget into advertising The Mole this year, everyone was excited in anticipation of its return, and it flopped. The move from 7:30pm to 9:30pm was the beginning of the end of the show.
Anyway, I guess we could discuss the AFL and The Amazing Race Australia in 2014! Do you watch TARA (or did you watch it when it was on)? Grant Bowler was a good host, but if Shura Taft takes the hosting position, it will flop like The Mole did. MasterMind5991 (talk) 23:50, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Nathan and Tyler won season one, the surfies. The cops (Shane and Andrew) won season 2. I wonder what type of players this upcoming season will throw up.
Anyway, in regards to The Mole, right before the show started I predicted Aisha would be in the final three. Something told me that she was a top suspect for the Mole, and whilst she did reach the last three, she finished runner-up.
I also predicted Sam would go deep and he did, but he was terminated one round short of the Grand Final.
If there was a Celebrity Mole in the near future, these contestants would make a good fit:
- Matthew Richardson (footballer)
- Joelle from The X Factor
- Johnny Ruffo from Home and Away
- Simon Reeve, Weekend Sunrise sports presenter
- Robbie Kearns, former Melbourne Storm player
- Stephanie Rice, swimmer
- Bianca Franklin, netball player, Buddy's sister
- Samantha Lane, Saturday Night Footy co-presenter
- Gary Ablett Jr's partner
- Jennifer Hawkins, former Miss Universe
- Andrew Wishart, X Factor Australia 2011 winner
- Hillal, this year's winner!
Speaking of Hillal, his clashes with Shaun were my favourite parts of the season! MasterMind5991 (talk) 01:01, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
RLWC Ladders
[edit]I have no idea, sorry. What I know for sure is that you will have to do some swapping around with some rows and its data (for example, Australia's position in Group A). This will be somehow complicated....
By the way, I am planning a funeral for The Mole, to be held this Wednesday (30 October) at 10:30pm here. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:51, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
That is a good idea. It's sad to see the show pass away, but at least The Amazing Race Australia will return, which makes up for the removal of The Mole.
The AFL draw will be released this Thursday, but already some key matches have been revealed (such as Geelong vs. Adelaide in Round 1, Richmond vs. Carlton in Round 2 and the traditional fixtures such as ANZAC Day and Queen's Birthday).
All will be revealed this Thursday. Watch out! MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:26, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
The Mole's funeral
[edit]I have written down the details for the funeral of The Mole tomorrow, to take place on the page "The Mole's funeral" within your own user page (like you did with the Discussion episodes).
The Autopsy
[edit]Show: The Mole
Born: Sunday, 27 February at 7:30 pm in Melbourne, Victoria
Died: Wednesday, 16 October at 12:00 am in Sydney, New South Wales
Cause of death: Poor ratings
More details will be released as they come to hand.
Other matters
[edit]Not very bad. Perhaps we can continue this into The Amazing Race Australia when it airs in the middle of next year. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:38, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
I have noticed some interesting titles for the episodes. Keep them up. Now less than 48 hours to go until the release of the AFL draw! MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:48, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
- "Essendon Saga + Documentary = No Mole"
- "Vandalism Rage & Money Is Back."
- "Shock Mole, Wonderful Winner"
The Essendon documentary was what led to Channel Seven moving The Mole to its final resting place of 10:30 pm on Wednesday nights. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:51, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed the double-up of the title "Vandalism Rage and Money is Back". Australia got embarrassed by Ireland in the Test series anyway. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:58, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Australian sport is in crisis.
- The Socceroos lose back-to-back games 6-0, which is the equivalent of a "double-bagel" loss in tennis.
- The Aussies get embarrassed in Ireland, losing the series by almost 100 points on aggregate.
- Bernard Tomic is continuing to bring the sport of tennis into disrepute with his poor performances.
I'm glad though that Jai did not win The X Factor last night. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:06, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Let's face the facts:
- Australia have not won the Bledisloe Cup since 2001 or 2002.
- Australia have not won the Rugby World Cup since 1999.
- Australia have not won the Rugby League World Cup since 2000.
- Australia have only featured in the FIFA World Cup three times (fourth if you include next year).
- Australia has not produced Miss Universe since 2004.
- Australia has not had a men's Australian Open champion since Mark Edmondson in 1976.
- Australia has not had a men's Wimbledon champion since Lleyton Hewitt in 2002.
It's fair to say that Australian sport on a national front has suffered a lot. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:14, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Channel Nine have always treated Melbourne NRL fans unfairly, going straight to the news at full-time, with the presentation highlights shown in the news. Even when the Melbourne Storm won in 2009 and whenever else I can think of.
Channel Seven/Ten DIDN'T do the same for the Sydney and Brisbane AFL fans.... also, AFL is more NATIONAL than the NRL BECAUSE in the AFL there are teams from Adelaide and Perth and the NRL can't even make teams out of those cities!
Nine must learn from Seven and learn how to do presentations properly. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:24, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
I reckon Seven promoted The Mole very poorly, it's meant to be suspicious and dramatic and not like a comedy show (you may have seen all those promos before the show started). That was what eventually led to the show's demise.
Seven's sporting events (not just the AFL, but also the Australian Open) rate very well, but one time Nine's cricket smashed the 2011 Australian Open men's final (because it did not feature any of Federer or Nadal) in the ratings. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:31, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Even after the failure of C7 Sport the Seven Network's sporting broadcasts have not suffered.
Seven continues to be the leading telecaster in sports, including the AFL (since 2007), Australian Open (since 1976), Wimbledon (since 2011) and a whole lot more. They also snatched the RLWC under Nine's noses! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:38, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
I hated Kelli Underwood's commentary of that Bartel behind from 2009. She could go down as the worst AFL commentator of all time.
By the way, I think Seven should chase Michael Christian for its Saturday afternoon coverage and move Basil Zempilas to a hosting position. Hamish McLachlan would make a good fit for sport on Seven News in Melbourne I feel. Agree? MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:49, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
What do you think about Sam Lane (Saturday Night Footy)? She's much better, in fact, she is the daughter of Tim Lane, who was one of Ten's primary commentators when they had the rights.
I managed to find (and subscribe to) you on YouTube. Anyway it is time for me to take off, as you will need to prepare the page for the Mole's funeral tomorrow night. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:01, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
The Mole's funeral TONIGHT
[edit]Yep, the day has arrived to officially farewell the show. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:38, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
On the page you said "Revealing Erin as The Mole and Hillal as The Mole." Hillal should be the winner! MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:51, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
I don't watch TBBT, not into comedy a lot, though I do watch some comedy shows occasionally. I normally watch Channel Seven during prime time almost every night, and I of course do watch Friday Night Football either on 7mate (AFL) or Nine (NRL).
In Sydney and Brisbane, AFL is on 7mate and NRL is on Nine, elsewhere it is the opposite. So you could watch the NRL live without having to wait until midnight, though you would have to switch to GEM (a women's channel). MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:00, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
I also don't watch Two and a Half Men, it doesn't interest me either. What station do you normally watch the news on? MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:07, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
In Sydney we have Chris Bath, one name that you may know very well. She hosts Sunday Night which in recent times has aired late due to The X Factor Australia.
During TXF, I referred to eliminations as "terminations" and suspected Jai Waetford as being The Mole. Watch this video that I put together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=row9ZnwIgGA
You will notice that Jai is fourth! Four letters in Mole, fourth in the line up, but only three letters in Jai. Whereas in the real Mole, Erin has four letters! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:15, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
Dami was a deserving winner. Never during the series did she face early termination, though she was brought back after she was sent home during Boot Camp.
Taylor Henderson is from Geelong, where Erin is from as well! MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:25, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
Well, obviously you are a fan of The Mole and TARA, which is being brought back next year after the Mole flopped this year. The funeral is just about to start. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:32, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
And thankfully, I have never heard of that terrible show you mentioned. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:33, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
Discussion now moves to the Mole funeral page, and will conclude at 11:25pm. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:41, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
AFL Draw is out.
[edit]The AFL Draw is out. It'll be interesting to see how North Melbourne go in 2014, but on ANZAC Day they will return to Perth for the first time since that narrow loss after the siren.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:51, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Whoops, I accidentally posted on my own page. What I was meant to say:
Don't worry, I won't. The Roos do have to travel to Sydney to meet the Swans in Round 4, in front of what will be a newly redeveloped SCG. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:39, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Another twist takes place in that episode with your friend. Hopefully, North Melbourne will have some better luck in 2014 after they lost so many matches by narrow margins in 2013. This did not deserve to happen to them at all this year. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:52, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Erin used to work at the Geelong Football Club, and from what I know she worked there between 2010 and 2012. Did she somehow sabotage the club's tilt at a premiership in 2010, and was she to blame for the club's early exit from the 2012 finals? Who knows!
On a footnote, North did beat Geelong last year in Round 19 or 20. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:01, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
It was also sweet revenge for that narrow round two loss, in which Jimmy Bartel kicked a goal off a 50-metre penalty to win the game for the Cats after the Roos had led by some 40-odd points in the second quarter. There will be a Friday night meeting between the two in May I think. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:13, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
That was the comeback of the year (Brisbane Lions vs. Geelong). Mind you, the Lions also almost beat Geelong at their home ground in the final round of the regular season, when the Cats just escaped being pinged for holding the ball WITH MERE SECONDS LEFT! The Cats then rushed a behind and won by just one point!
Melbourne is the laughing stock of the AFL. Mark Neeld was a joke. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:25, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
What about Carlton and Round 23? MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:33, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Ahhh.. hopefully this dilemma will not have to play out in Round 23 next season. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:36, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that was that painful Grand Final in 2009 which we led at three-quarter-time, only for the Cats' experience to come to the fore in that final quarter. We weren't even close to beating them this year! (101 point loss at Simonds Stadium) MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:49, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
That was the closest Ross Lyon ever came to winning a flag. And the closest the Saints came to winning flag number two. That loss will haunt the Saints for at least the next decade or so. They're nothing under Scott Watters at the moment. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:58, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Freo failed on the big stage. Hawthorn's experience won out in the end. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:05, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Hmm... let's end the discussion now, and we'll talk again near the beginning of the AFL season. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:15, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
One last thing before I leave... I tipped the ANZAC Day triple header right from the very beginning. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:16, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Re: Seriously!
[edit]If you do that, then I will undo it, because DPH1110 said that the elimination scenarios must stay in the talk page no matter what and It cannot be in the user page, so because of that, I will undo your edits. Don't argue with me, go talk to him, and he will say the same thing to you. Hisakiwa21 (talk) 03:33, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
- I did post it before, but DPH1110 deleted it and told me that it is better to put it on the talk page, not the main article, so that's how it's working ever since. If I see any elimination scenarios, I eliminated it and told me to talk it over on the talk page. Hisakiwa21 (talk) 15:59, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
The 2014 season opener (Part I)
[edit]We shall call this "The 2014 season opener", even though it's still technically 2013.
You may remember, back on The Mole, Hillal had a freebie stolen from him in the round in which Nick was terminated. He suspected that either Shaun or Nick stole his freebie, and there is a good argument to this - in the termination episode, Nick says "Let's get Hillal home", and also discusses with Shaun their tactics of getting him home.
While The Mole will not return in 2014 (sadly), The Amazing Race Australia will. Let's just hope Shura Taft does not destroy TARA. MasterMind5991 (talk) 04:05, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
There are just less than ten weeks left until the beginning of the AFL season again. Collingwood vs. Fremantle will be very interesting. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:02, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
That's 14 games. I'm guessing you're not going to any of the games that are interstate or in Tasmania. And what does "TClash" mean in regard to the Geelong games? MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:16, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
I see. Hopefully North can avoid those close losses that dogged them in 2013. We shall not discuss those ever again. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:23, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
The 2014 season opener (Part II)
[edit]First of all, happy new year and I hope that 2014 brings you a lot of good fortunes and great memories to cherish.
There are 72 days to go until the 2014 AFL season begins. Collingwood will take on Fremantle at Etihad Stadium and discussions will take place here, to replace the fact that The Mole has been axed (presumably). TARA discussion will also take place here, so what a season we will be in for. MasterMind5991 (talk) 03:13, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Awful because the revival of The Mole did not work out as planned. Good because the season was a good one. MasterMind5991 (talk) 03:22, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
It's sad that these things have to happen. Unfortunately, we'll have to end the episode here as I am busy Twitter-commentating the tennis. MasterMind5991 (talk) 03:26, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Brief episode, it's getting late
[edit]Been watching the tennis. Thrilling stuff so far, by the way Sydney FC had a 1-all draw with Adelaide tonight.
Hopefully, all the history between you and that girl is buried once and for all. That's it from me tonight, hopefully we can carry on another day. My apologies. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:25, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Good work
[edit]To be honest, I don't remember some of the episodes, but it's good that you remember a lot of them.
There is now 70 days until we see Buddy Franklin in a Sydney Swans jumper, and 69 days until the season proper starts.
I also wonder what will unfold in the world of politics in 2014. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:56, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Now we wonder how season 2014 will unfold. Hopefully less anarchy and more action! MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:59, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
That final quarter of 2013 had to be very difficult for you. Hopefully you find someone new in your life. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:03, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Episode over, off to dinner and then off to watch the tennis. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:05, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
No problem. But there's no guarantee I will be there for the start of the Williams versus Azarenka match. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:08, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
You seem to be an expert at making Episode guides than I am. I specialise in making tables, profiles on the right of the page, uploading images, tennis seasons, AFL rounds, the lot. Keep up the good work. MasterMind5991 (talk) 04:41, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
My favourite episodes were:
- "Bye Bye Money!"
- "Vandalism Rage & Money Is Back."
- "Shock Mole, Wonderful Winner (The Final Mole Discussion: Wie is... de Mol?)"
- "The Shortest Episode Ever"
- "A Massive Prelusion to The Funeral"
- "The Last Post to The Mole"
- "In Regards To The Shortest Chats..."
End of the episode, off to catch Federer versus Hewitt. MasterMind5991 (talk)
Football
[edit]I don't really follow American football (I don't understand it, to be honest), but what you told me was amazing!
But from what I have head it is very big over there in the States and I do see some of it on ONE, but I don't really pay attention to what is happening. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:32, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
That must have been extremely close. Do you follow any A-League soccer teams in particular? MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:52, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Away from home, you mean?
And what a terrible result for the Victory over the weekend. Thrashed 3-0 by Brisbane Roar, which I will not discuss any further for your convenience. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:59, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Finals losses are terrible. They are heartbreaking and for the most part some teams do get knocked out.
I like the AFL system. The eight teams are split into two pools (1-4 and 5-8) and from the lower pool, two teams are guaranteed elimination if they are beaten. Whereas in the top pool, anyone who loses gets a second chance.
The McIntyre system, previously used by the NRL before it was ditched in 2012, had too many flaws exposed. In 2009, the eighth-placed Parramatta Eels made the Grand Final after beating teams 1, 2 and 3 before losing to team four, who were later revealed to have breached the salary cap. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:11, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Gallop had to deal with salary cap breaches from the Bulldogs, Warriors and Storm in the NRL which resulted in them being deducted premiership points. His hard stance is also set to apply to the A-League as well, as you may already know.
When Carlton breached the salary cap in 2002 (you may be too young to remember), the club was not stripped of any premiership points; rather, draft picks which would have allowed them to rebuild. The result was there to see - three wooden spoons (in 2002, 2005 and 2006) and a seven-year finals drought between 2002 and 2008 inclusive.
WSW and MVC have the most passionate fans in the A-League, it must be mentioned. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:21, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Gallop has also launched a similar threat on Bulldogs NRL fans in the past. Their fans are so violent which is the main reason why I hate that club.
I don't think this has ever happened in the history of Australian sport, but if it was applied, as you said it would be a stupid decision. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:27, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Aussies are very passionate about their soccer, no doubt. But one thing is this - the club must also be responsible for the behaviour of its fans - that's why teams face being stripped of premiership points. It seems the fans are NOT getting the message! MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:36, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Thus, it's up to the fans to BEHAVE or the players will pay for it. That is absolutely harsh. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:40, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Read one of my earlier posts above. The club must be held liable for the fans' actions home and away. The club has fans, they must behave. That's my theory only. There's more but I feel I can't explain everything in one go. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:49, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Where do you think fan violence is more likely to occur? At a team's home or away match? MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:56, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
I agree as well, though away supporters will want to make themselves known as well. That ends the good discussion of fan behaviour at sporting events, I am off to dinner. Talk soon. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:04, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
The Late Show
[edit]I'm afraid I don't know anything about ADHD's.
As the world grows I feel people are starting to get dumb and dumber. That's only my opinion, though. Today's teenagers are starting to get more rebellious (well, at least where I am living), in my opinion again. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:31, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
In my opinion, it's for the safety of internet users online. Just like on The Mole, you never know what to expect from who you communicate with. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
If you attacked someone online, then there would be very serious ramifications. By the way, good work. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:17, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
One wrong move could spell the end of everything. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:26, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Just don't make a wrong move and keep yourself safe on the net. It's amazing just what anyone can do on cyber space these days. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:33, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
That would hurt. Yes, people are breaking the law everyday and I can see this being very frequent in recent times. Think about the murder of Jill Meagher as an example.
This will conclude tonight's episode. To be continued sometime this week.... MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:45, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Law & Order
[edit]Laws on young Internet users need to be tightened up. But these laws must be applied NATIONALLY, not just within a state such as Victoria, which had to deal with the murder and rape of Jill Meagher in 2012.
Young people are becoming victim to depression and suicide these days; in fact, this Thursday marks the second anniversary of the suicide of Sheniz Erkan, who took her life after being bullied in high school. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:45, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
True. The laws you wrote were ridiculous and there needs to be an overhaul, otherwise there will be more assaults on young people and perhaps more cases of rape in court. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:13, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
You said that:
- "That has got to be one of the most ridiculous thing written" - in reference to that law that you wrote earlier today (which I could not reply to because I was busy with something else).
Anyway, what else do you think needs to be done to protect the identity of young Internet users? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:46, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
You do know about Internet filtering, right? That MUST be applied by parents to each of their children until they turn 18. Parents won't be home to check on their children all the time, thus that law must be applied (and I think it must be made mandatory as well). MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:58, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and many other social websites should be restricted to young Internet users until they at least turn 13. End of story. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:04, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Straight filtering will remove unsafe things such as pornography and things relating to all sorts of violence. Once children start using social websites, their parents should also join in and keep track of what they are doing, in order to protect them from the dangers of the cyberspace. What do you think? MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:11, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
I have no idea why pornography ever existed - this is just the most disgusting thing to have ever existed on earth. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:14, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Pornography is a topic which I will never want to discuss ever again. And with that said, tonight's episode comes to an end.
More discussions will take place until Sunday, when I will take a two week break for the tennis. Discussions will resume "after the tennis" (in reference to Channel Seven promoting the return of their programs "after the tennis on 7"). MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:18, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Law & Order CONTINUED
[edit]Topics we shall never discuss again:
- A5
- Pornography
- Drugs
- Anything illegal.
MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:29, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, yes, but not in a bad way, unless it's serious. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:32, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
But only if you don't take it too far.
About Internet censoring, do you think that it should be made mandatory for families with children under 18? MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:38, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
What kind of attitude do your close friends show? MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:43, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
That is sad to hear. It's sad to hear people insulting each other. It normally results in depression and we saw two years ago what happened to Sheniz Erkan (whose hometown by the way is Taylors Lakes). MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:54, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
These people need to be taught a lesson on how to properly treat people. Full stop. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:03, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Some people just NEVER learn. What are some of the punishments for bullying at your school, do you know? MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:09, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Expulsion must ba mandatory for bullies who don't stop. This will wrap up the episode, I am off to watch the Sydney tennis. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:32, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Getting Along
[edit]Guy Sebastian released a single in 2012 called "Get Along". People should listen to the lyrics of that song. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:50, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't think I've told you this yet, but I am actually 22 and will be 23 later this year. So you better listen to your elders! :P MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:40, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
How is it a miracle? MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:44, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, it is a good thing that this season is going ahead. But remember I will take a hiatus from Sunday night for the Australian Open. The season will then resume in February before it heats up for The Amazing Race! MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:56, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Actually, there were two seasons of TARA, before it was rested for the ill-fated but well discussed return of The Mole. I think Seven must have pushed for TARA to run after The Mole underperformed in the ratings. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:05, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Oh. But you are excited for the return of TARA, right? MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:08, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
That will definitely make up for The Mole never returning again. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:11, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Pre-Australian Open discussion
[edit]Australia copped it at the draw yesterday. Tomic gets Nadal, Ash Barty gets Serena and Hewitt could face Nadal in round four.
I wonder if The Mole would go to the Australian Open! As Erin is now based in Melbourne, it's very likely she might go. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:56, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Nadal, Tomic, Hewitt are all in the top section of the draw. Federer could meet any of them in the semi-finals.
Also, if you plan on watching Channel Seven's coverage, watch out for some AFL footballers in the crowd! This is VERY common at the Australian Open. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:01, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Who do you think will win the Open this year? My picks are Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:18, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Good work. Unfortunately this episode has to be cut short due to other commitments. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:25, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
We Build Then We Break
[edit]In the final episode before we break off for the Australian Open, there will be some interesting matches this upcoming AFL season:
- Buddy vs. Sydney, round eight.
- Betts vs. Adelaide, round ten.
- Buddy returns to Hawthorn, round eighteen.
- The Grand Final rematch, round three.
- The season opener between Collingwood and Fremantle.
- All Western Derbies, Showdowns, Sydney Derbies and QClashes.
- Ablett vs. Geelong.
- Dal Santo vs. St Kilda.
More to come. MasterMind5991 (talk) 04:55, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Very good list. As for the NRL matches:
- Barba vs. the Bulldogs, round one
- Grand Final rematch
- All the Queensland derbies
- Canberra vs. St George
- Battle of the Beaches (Cronulla, Manly and the Roosters)
- ANZAC Day (Roosters vs. Dragons and Storm vs. Warriors)
- State of Origin
MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:27, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, that as well as Melbourne vs. Brisbane and all the Sydney rivalries. MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Will be an interesting 2014 no doubt. Add to that the return of The Amazing Race Australia as well. MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:59, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Good notes. Now that everything is almost finished, the time to break off is looming. But before that, who do you think will win the State of Origin in rugby league this year? MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:08, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
There's no way New South Wales will stop the losing streak. Queensland have two home games this year, and there will be a Melbourne game in 2015, that should make it ten in a row for Queensland. Full stop. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:14, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
In fact, the St. George rugby league team won ELEVEN consecutive premierships between 1956 and 1966 inclusive. It's a world record that will never likely be matched. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:28, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Anyway, this St George streak of 11 consecutive premierships remain a record.
Queensland could match it half a century on, you never know! MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:41, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Same. I have been to Movie World twice and also Sea World, and also been to Brisbane twice. What is your favourite theme park? MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:46, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
$1 million | |
I wonder what it could be. Could it be: | |
⬥ A: Wet 'n' Wild | ⬥ B: Dream World |
⬥ C: Sea World | ⬥ D: Movie World |
Hmm... I have no idea. I give up. What was it? MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:07, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Ahhh.. Dream World, where Big Brother is filmed. I'd like to go there one day. But Movie World is fun! MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:15, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Oh. When was the last time you ventured up to Queensland? My last time was in 2010. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:33, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
That's good. Unfortunately, time for me to take my two-week break now, we shall be back on January 27. Enjoy yourself and good luck with everything. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
What an Open it was.
[edit]Two unexpected but well deserving champions to say the least. All the talk was on Rafa and Serena winning but they got beaten by players who had never won a match, let alone a set, against them!
And Tomic's injury was another big talking point, as well as Hewitt's exit.
The AFL season is now not too far away. The countdown has begun! MasterMind5991 (talk) 02:37, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I am enjoying my public holiday, even though I am already a university student.
Upsets happen in tennis all the time, none more so than last night (when Rafa was injured) and when Serena went out to Ivanovic.
By the way, check this out: User:MasterMind5991/Ivanovic–S. Williams match at the 2014 Australian Open. MasterMind5991 (talk) 03:39, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
You must be a big an of American sports, most of which I don't even understand! MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:04, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't really follow the Super Bowl, but it is really a big event when it is televised in Australia so when I have time I might catch it on TV. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:50, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
I think I do. Ice hockey I hear is very big in Canada, AND it will be a feature sport at the Winter Olympics which start in two weeks. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:55, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Are you going to follow the Winter Olympics? It will be another big sporting event no doubt. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:25, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Speaking of Canada, you may have followed the run of Eugenie Bouchard (a Canadian) at the Open - she's now one of my favourites. Also, Sydney Swans ruckman Mike Pyke is Canadian but only became an Australian citizen over the weekend. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:38, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
So I am guessing that you are Canadian, or are you Australian? MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:20, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't watch The Block, I watch My Kitchen Rules instead, but don't really pay attention to what is happening. It's just that I find myself watching Channel Seven all the time.
By the way, you will have noticed last week the new music for Seven News, which after four days was scrapped because the viewers didn't like it. The old music eventually returned last Friday. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:34, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Worst. Theme. Ever. That's why Seven is getting smashed by Nine in the ratings. Good to have the old mission theme back. Yes, I'm happy with the episodes but please note that not every episode is guaranteed as I might be out on a Friday night or something, but I still expect to commit to my Twitter commentary of some AFL matches this season. MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:42, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
I have heard of Peter Mitchell but any footage of him that I watch is only on YouTube (searching "Seven News Melbourne"). In Sydney we get Mark Ferguson, who used to be with Nine.
Ahhh, Wet 'n' Wild Sydney, which just opened in December. Enjoy! MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:50, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
One mistake in your list. Martin Place station is not on the Bankstown line, rather on the Eastern Suburbs. I travel on trains almost every day. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:01, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Ahhh. That song from Eiffel 65 called "Blue". Anyway, this will mark the end of the episode, as I need to do some work on regards to writing my AFL season previews for each team. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:13, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Back to school
[edit]Well yes, tomorrow is the day when almost every kid returns to school. Lucky I finished school in 2009, only have to wait another four months to return to university.
Must-visit places in Sydney: Bondi Beach, Manly, Luna Park, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Middle Head (the site of the first The Mole termination), Cronulla beach, Kiama (where Nick was terminated), the Cronulla sand dunes (where part of the final quiz took place) and the Ballast Point Park in Birchgrove, where the second part of the final quiz took place. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:25, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't know a lot about Cody Simpson, but I have heard of his music before; speaking of which, I think that song was released around 2010.
I have finished my work on AFL Predictions for 2014, a series of articles previewing each team will be released progressively within the next few weeks. Same for the NRL. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I think (only). I'm not sure. What other artists do you like? MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:30, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
If they can't accept you as a friend then just move on and make new friends. Simple as that. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:50, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I also like Imagine Dragons. In fact, I've got their latest album, "Night Visions". MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:06, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I've always hated Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Never have I liked their music and never will I like it. Same with Chris Brown. I've hated him ever since that Rihanna incident in 2009.
One Direction are okay, though. It's just that one of their members became the target of one (or two) Taylor Swift songs early last year. MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:17, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
You must be a big fan of journalism television. Perhaps that's your future career goal? MasterMind5991 (talk) 09:39, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I normally don't watch Frontline but they are very interesting summaries that you told me. Being a pilot, flying around the world is my guess? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:06, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Back to School (Part II)
[edit]Every new year there are new teachers that you'll have to put up with. They might be ones that you like, and some that you hate. Good luck! MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:22, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
How are you finding your new teachers and any new friends that you may have made? MasterMind5991 (talk) 10:55, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
That's good to hear. Anyway, the first of my AFL season previews are up on www.theroar.com.au - go to the AFL section and there's a season preview for Hawthorn. Previews for Sydney and Fremantle should be up by tomorrow. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:18, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I am going in order of my predicted ladder. So if I wrote Hawthorn first, then they will be premiers. Sydney second - grand finalists, Fremantle, preliminary finals, etc.. all the way down to St Kilda, who I think will struggle in 2014.
As for North Melbourne, they will be hoping for some much needed luck in 2014. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:24, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't watch Media Watch on TV but I do read some transcripts on the internet. Tom Waterhouse is one topic, as well as swearing on live television. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:33, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I wonder what those three words could mean. Possibly television networks trying to pay people to reveal the truth or something. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:46, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I've heard of Jonathan Holmes. A very nice and gritty host. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:53, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
The show is only about 10-15 minutes long, long enough given ABC is commercial free. End of discussion tonight, getting late. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:22, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
No episodes this weekend
[edit]Unfortunately there will be no episodes, or I will be unavailable for any discussions until Monday, as I am observing the Lunar New Year. MasterMind5991 (talk) 08:59, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Super Bowl
[edit]The Denver Broncos were favoured to win, but they were heavily beaten. And some of the ads were controversial too I guess. MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:23, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
And not to mention that Today Tonight has officially disappeared from Seven's schedule. It is now a one-hour Seven News in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:38, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Today Tonight was a big waste of a show. It was just an extra half an hour of irrelevant current affairs which served no purpose to some states.
If you are interested, here are two shows that you should try to catch sometime soon:
- Never Tear Us Apart: The INXS Story, Sunday 9 February at 8:30pm on Seven
- Schapelle, Monday 10 February at 8:30pm on Nine
And to a lesser extent, the second part of Better Man can be seen sometime after 10:00pm Sunday night on SBS.
You may also remember the show The World's Strictest Parents, a show about unruly teenagers being sent overseas to live with another family for a week. My favourite episodes were:
- Singapore (Zaine and Memphis)
- Montana (Chloe and Christian)
- Queensland (Nathan and Adriana)
- Ohio (Aza and Troy)
- Texas (Thea and Corrie)
The show did not air in 2013 because it did not rate very well, the same reason which led to the demise of The Mole. MasterMind5991 (talk) 05:57, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Nine moving A Current Affair to 7:00 is somewhat backfiring. Home and Away is smashing it at that timeslot in the ratings. MasterMind5991 (talk) 06:14, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Nine decided to tinker with its news format and it worked. Hence the permanent one-hour format, which Seven have also applied to their news. MasterMind5991 (talk) 07:07, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Just a reminder, per WP:CRIC#STYLE, in articles about matches played in Australia, use the format of wickets/runs: 8/141 rather than 141/8. StAnselm (talk) 12:13, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Another break for the Chinese New Year
[edit]Again, due to the Chinese New Year celebrations continuing, I will not return until Monday at the earliest.
I'm looking forward to watching Sochi, it's been a while since any Olympics were on. The AFL will also return and it will in five weeks from now (not very long).
I may cover it on Twitter, but if I do, I do and if I don't, then I don't. MasterMind5991 (talk) 11:53, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
The Late Show II
[edit]Well, you got to me late, so I will only limit my contribution to this and this only.
I have yet to go to Wet 'n' Wild Sydney, but as you said it is almost a carbon copy of the original Gold Coast theme park. I have never gone to the one on the Gold Coast either.
I am used to travelling on Sydney trains only. In fact, I went to the city (more precisely, Pyrmont) to watch a live recording of The Project. It was entertaining and I will go again next Wednesday.
The two levels on the trains are actually convenient, as they can handle more passengers, and the voice machines are relevant, especially when it's dark. Also those old station signs are very old.
One last thing, you may want to archive your talk page as it's getting too large, and create a new one from scratch, like I did. My first archive can be seen at: User talk:MasterMind5991/Archive 1. MasterMind5991 (talk) 12:30, 11 February 2014 (UTC) .
