HelpMe Tag - RE: "Oppera," "Violince"
[edit]There used to be pages for the band Oppera as well as for the self-titled album Oppera and their album Violince. It appears that all three entries have been completely deleted and Oppera now simply redirects to Opera. This band is notable for a variety of reasons, most importantly that the lead singer is award winning singer Martika. I can find no history of these pages being voted for deletion, so can someone please tell me what the heck happened?? TheGoonSquad (talk) 13:30, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- The article Oppera was nominated for deletion in April. The deletion discussion for the band at Articles for Deletion (AfD) is here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oppera (2nd nomination). You ought to have been notified here on your talk page about the AfD when is was posted, which the nominator apparently forgot to do. The concern was notability, which the article eventually got deleted for. The page was re-created by another user for a redirect to Opera because it's "a plausible misspelling/typo" [1], which probably doesn't have anything to do with your article being nominated for deletion. I would suggest that you be bold and create the article again by editing this page. Be sure to add facts about the band's notability using reliable sources. Let me know on my talk page or add the
{{helpme}}
template again if you have any more questions. :) --JamieS93 13:44, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Although it's somewhat "indirect" notability, it sounds like it's good enough to me. As long as you have several reliable sources in the article along with some proven notability, it should be fine. I added a "References" section to the article, by the way, so that your references can show up in that section at the bottom of the page. I'd be happy to help you expand the article if you'd like. Have a great day! --JamieS93 16:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Gender Identity quote
[edit]Can you provide any more information about the Orrin Hatch Wikipedia quote? i.e. what time it was given or what he quoted exactly? Kaldari 15:50, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- I did my best to expand by including time and a summary of what he quoted but I could not directly quote what he said. TheGoonSquad 17:26, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: constant removal of content at The Dark Knight (film)
[edit]And how is one supposed to know that without an adequate citation from a reliable source, pray tell? A YouTube link to this idiot celebrity gossipmongerer would not constitute such, I would guess. Liquidfinale (Ţ) (Ç) (Ŵ) 18:34, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I feel your pain. Try Comic Book Resources http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12518 or another source, perhaps. That seems to be the big issue. joshschr (talk) 18:34, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I just wanted to say that I appreciate your attempted contribution to The Dark Knight (film). However, YouTube is not an appropriately reliable source, despite its content being verifiable. It's better to cite something more static where there's a reputation for fact-checking and editorial oversight. There's a lot of viral marketing going on with this film, and it's not possible to report every aspect of it. We need to provide a historical perspective for this marketing, and considering its scale, there will likely be coverage from solid reliable sources. I think that the alternative provided by Joshschr above would be appropriate, but if possible, it should be replaced by something even more concrete. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 18:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
R.E: shock site and lemonparty.org
[edit]The only source I found was a link to a video clip, and that isn't enough. Sources need to be something like reports or newspaper articles, or something that proves its notability and reliability. If you can find those, you can add the site back. --AAA! (AAAA) 00:02, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Sandragems.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sandragems.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Fair use rationale for Image:8arms.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:8arms.JPG. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:35, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Nonsense of Vocal marking
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Vocal marking, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Vocal marking provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Vocal marking, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image source problem with Image:Melissaleftonpromotional.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Melissaleftonpromotional.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:49, 26 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 20:49, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello TheGoonSquad! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 11 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Orphaned non-free image File:Vegasvinyl.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Vegasvinyl.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Danielcartier.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned file with no obvious value in transferring to Commons
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Salavat (talk) 04:36, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
