User talk:The Flying Spaghetti Monster/Archive 1
I spotted your comment at Talk:Maddie Aldridge, and agree with you. I've tagged the article for a merge and opened a discussion on the talk page should you wish to contribute. Karenjc 14:56, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I might just move my previous post to the discussion :D because I pretty much said what I though there. By the way do you know where you discuss merges? The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 15:08, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- May sauce be upon you; may pirates guide you to other non-notable articles; and may you be frequently touched by His noodly appendage :)
- Merges are normally discussed individually in one place, usually on the talk page of the article which is merged rather than the mergee (ooh, is that a word, I wonder?). There's a list at Wikipedia:Proposed merges but only the ones likely to provoke controversy get listed there. Cheers, Karenjc 15:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Please update all the incoming links (ie, where the image is used) before tagging images for deletion as a duplicate of an image of another name on Commons. Thanks. fish&karate 11:36, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Can you redirect an image link to the commons file? I wasn't sure if you could... The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 11:39, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- No, just go through each of the articles it appears in, and change the file name to the Commons one. I'll do one as an example: [1]. fish&karate 11:43, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Everton F.C. season 1927-28
[edit]A tag has been placed on Everton F.C. season 1927-28 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Beano (talk) 08:18, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Simple English ad
[edit]That's no problem at all! Any ideas on what you'd like or should I just take it wherever? Currently I'm thinking of having a cursor type out something esoteric (the three countries amalgamated into a sovereign entity) and then backspace it and type it out simply (the three countries joined together). It doesn't matter what we think they are (and I know they are much more than metalcore and more like the progressive deathcore/mathcore variety). It only matters what published third party reliable sources say they are and not if Wikipedia is 'inaccurate or not' (unless it is blatantly wrong like they are an indie rock band or something far from the genre they are. For a general idea of what makes a reliable source, see WP:RS. I have looked initially myself and the source on the page is all I could find. I will look into it further and try finding something more suitable. FireCrystal (talk) 22:27, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know how I've missed that one! It must have been recently created sometime after I looked (and a bit later when I looked again). So yes you can use that but are you ok with keeping metalcore until it is far substantiated by deathcore sources? The reviews does mention metalcore leanings (and progressive too but one song doesn't make them so). Another would have to be found for mathcore or progressive metal. FireCrystal (talk) 22:37, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think I've found something for their technical/progressive side. [2] The review of their studio album should be used instead. In the bio, they mention that they are metalcore first on top of all other things and say that they mix progressive death metal with thrash (which I've seen them use in place of metalcore out of the blue a few times). Not sure how this will turn out after adding this but I'll see what happens. FireCrystal (talk) 03:08, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. High Focus Records moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, High Focus Records, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Lopifalko (talk) 07:33, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi,
Thanks for notifying me. To be honest though I feel like it fits the notability guidelines already? What specifically do you think needs adding to make it suitable? I've added a source for the roster already. Some help would be appreciated, as I feel this label is definitely notable enough to have their own Wiki article.
Thanks! The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 11:35, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Hf logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Hf logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:39, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi. If you're not intending to review Template:Did you know nominations/Charles Montier - which is perfectly fine of course - would you please make it clear on its nomination page that you won't be and that another reviewer is needed? The nomination appears to be stuck in limbo and I suspect it's because other editors think you will be reviewing it. --kingboyk (talk) 15:54, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hey, yeah from my experience DYK just takes a long time regardless of other factors - but sure I'll do that. I'm back to Wikipedia after years off, so I don't feel confident enough on the criteria to be fully reviewing noms yet.
Thanks. The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 13:37, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message
[edit]The file File:Advisory Board Crystals logo.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned photo, most likely uploaded as a part of an article that was deleted in July for notability reasons.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 19:25, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Lee Scott at Jazz Cafe.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lee Scott at Jazz Cafe.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dylsss(talk contribs) 17:01, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Deletion pending for File:Lee Scott at Jazz Cafe.png
[edit]Hello, The Flying Spaghetti Monster. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Lee Scott at Jazz Cafe.png — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Though there is often a backlog processing messages received at this address, we should have received your message by now.
- If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
- If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 14:33, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
