Welcome to Wikipedia!
[edit]Dear Thenar:
Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia edited by people like me and you. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:
- Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- Community Portal
- Frequently Asked Questions
- How to edit a page
- How to revert to a previous version of a page
- Copyrights
- Shortcuts
And these (I still use the image tutorial):
Don't worry too much about being perfect. None of us are! But for help avoiding common mistakes, you can click here.
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator, or, as before, leave a question at the New contributors' help page or the Help desk. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen.
I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know at my personal talk page. Everyone here was new at one time. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

August 2011
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Nausheen Sardar Ali, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please note that original research cannot be accepted. If you have any reliable published source, please add one whenever you are adding or changing anything. Thanks. -Managerarc™ talk 21:22, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:PeterMike.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:PeterMike.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:59, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Peter Plantec
[edit]Hello Thenar, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Peter Plantec, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Plantec (2nd nomination).
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Velella}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!
