COPIED FROM ANOTHER TALK SO THAT YOU WILL SEE IT
Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Young Earth creationism, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 21:32, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices. ANSWER TO WHOMEVER IT MAY CONCERN: This is not a joke edit. There is a very real and very serious need to reveal the ACTUAL and real facts and to use responsible and REAL information concerning the scientific study of creationism (of which I participate in). I am an engineer and deeply involved student of the sciences and I felt a need to publish some truth, today.
Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, you may be blocked from editing. Theroadislong (talk) 21:41, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices. It is NOT incorrect information that I am revealing. What is being reverted to is the inaccurate information. Just because YOU don't believe it doesn't make it not true.
Besides, who are YOU to declare that what edits I make are wrong? Hm???
Edits made to a page about the scientific theory of Young Earth Creationism should only be conducted by Young Earth Creationists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.58.199.61 (talk) 21:47, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything you or I want to say about anything. It only reports on what reliable sources have published about a subject, your edits contained no such sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:59, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi, you just rejected the draft of the Marisha Ray article with the comment that youtube and imbd are not reliable sources. The very first source on the page is a forbes article and two other linked sources are masters theses. I understood these to be sources that prove Ray's notability, and the rest to just be supporting sources - the interviews cited are also on projectalpha.org and twitch.tv, but can only be viewed by subcriptors there. What should I do to make sure the article passes muster? Delete all youtube and imdb sources on it? Thank you for taking the time to help me understand. Fajority (talk) 09:19, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes please that would be a help seeing the wood for the trees. Theroadislong (talk) 09:25, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Marisha Ray article
Hi Theroadislong,
thank you for your comment - I think I've caught all the unreliable sources now. I added replacement sources where I could. I hope this is sufficient. Fajority (talk) 12:47, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- No there are still some IMDb sources and Twitter and her own website none of which are reliable, I will leave it for another reviewer to look at though. Theroadislong (talk) 12:53, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Marisha Ray Article
Sorry to bother you here again - I hope this is the right way to respond to your comments. I thought those sources function primarily as a "proof" that Marisha Ray did indeed star in these roles. I will not be able to find in-depth articles discussing her performance in each of these. But I am not sure how the Geek&Sundry article is a primary source? I can delete the rest but it will mean the list is incomplete. Or is it okay to leave it in the list without a source? Fajority (talk) 17:18, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia requires in-depth coverage of the subject in order to show that they are notable this link for example [1] doesn't even mention her, the very fact of her appearing in a film doesn't make her notable. Theroadislong (talk) 17:37, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Why was my post accepted?
Hello,
My recent post of Rabbi Naftali Hertz Zeichik was not accepted. I cited a well known newspaper for the majority of the information.
Thanks, Jon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathanleener (talk • contribs) 23:03, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- I declined your draft because it has only one source an obituary, the draft doesn't explain why he is notable Wikipedia requires there to be significant coverage about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources. Can you find more sources and suggest how he passes the notability guidelines. Theroadislong (talk) 23:06, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I thought I did mark my edit on the Judi Dench page as minor. Perhaps I mis-clicked. Apologies if I did.Imogeninwonderland (talk) 10:58, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes you did mark your edit as minor, but it wasn't a minor edit, a minor edit is a spelling correction, not the addition of a quote. Theroadislong (talk) 11:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Judi Dench edit
Hello. Why did you revert my addition to the Judi Dench page? Because youtube was the source? I put a direct quote from her there, I don't see how that can't be a viable source when she literally says exactly what I put. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imogeninwonderland (talk • contribs) 11:06, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- YouTube is never a good source for anything. Theroadislong (talk) 11:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Well it is from an official verified channel, and if you'd care to take 3 minutes to watch the video, you'll find that she says exactly what I put. Youtube is a perfectly viable source if it is from a reputable and verified channel. Furthermore, I shall continue to add the information that I previously added until it is accepted. I see no reason it shouldn't be there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imogeninwonderland (talk • contribs) 11:54, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Sir/Madam, I saw your suggestion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MaxiColeman40/sandbox What should I do? Every unsourced award and certification is in the above cited sources. Should I reuse the reference or delete the unsourced. Can I add publications? I'll appreciate your quick insight. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaxiColeman40 (talk • contribs) 21:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

But if you suggest I can add references to all of them or remove some. Thanks, I really appreciate your help. MaxiColeman40 (talk) 22:28, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Auguste Groner review
I should clear up one point: I'm not really a beginner, since I've been on WP about as long as you and created a fair number of articles, though I haven't made significant contributions for many years. I do have two quibbles about your review:
- I don't understand your comment "no sources", when I provided four, and when everything I wrote was referenced to a particular source. Perhaps you didn't really mean "no sources", but meant something else?
- Groner is a Project Gutenberg author -- she has five books there -- and that suggests notability, at least to me. There is also a page on WikiSource with a list of her works, though none have yet been transcribed. Also suggesting notability.
So, am questioning your assertions on two things: "no sources" and "notability". Would appreciate a real response, rather than one-size-fits-all boiler-plate with a few words changed.
Thanks. Anthon.Eff (talk) 02:01, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- My apologies I hadn't noticed the sources because of the unusual formatting, if you would like to read WP:REFB and reformat them I would be happy to accept. Theroadislong (talk) 08:11, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Rejection of the submission about "article video"
Hi friend, Could you please explain how I can improve my submission. I am open to suggestions. Please note that though I am interested in the idea of article videos, this concept is new and I feel that the definition can help me write proper articles about Video Content Marketing. Honestly I am trying to contribute something about the emerging trend of video content. I hope your wisdom can guide me here.
Hoping to hear from you.

Republic of Russidia
Hello!
I am trying to make my Micronation's Wiki page for inclusion here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_micronations
Is there a way to do this? Or what would I have to change about the article I submitted to make it acceptable? (This is my first article so I am a bit lost) ItzPyr3 (talk) 18:14, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- Has your micro nation Republic of Russidia been discussed in depth, in multiple reliable sources? If so you can use those sources to create an article. Theroadislong (talk) 18:37, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- It has not, being founded only recently. Would linking the nation's website (in progress) help towards that goal?
ItzPyr3 (talk) 18:43, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry no, Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about it in reliable places. Theroadislong (talk) 18:45, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

247 Airport Transfer
Hello! You just rejected one of the articles I submitted - 247 Airport Transfer.I don't know if you at least looked at the cited sources, PHTM is the leading trade newspaper in the UK for the private hire and hackney carriage industry, a primary source for this category. Business Motoring is the motoring resource for small businesses and SME small fleets running company cars and business cars. I don't think you even researched the sources to see if they are reliable. I don't see any advertising in that article, only facts with citations. I request someone with experience in the Transportation and Minicab Services to review the article. I saw too many published articles with anonymous local sources I don't understand why this was declined. I researched a lot for this one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Icenemesys (talk • contribs) 13:36, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

- 5) same as above
- 6) This [7] is a press release.
- 7) This [8] doesn't mention 247 Airport Transfer.

Can you please help us to understand what other references could contribute to "notability?" Submission confusion
Hello! You rejected my article on an independant film, 'Loves Park' for "Too soon and no reliable independent sources". The sources listed are the official website for the distributor, and a news article on the film itself. I'm curious as to how I can make these sources more independent? Or what sources would be considered Independent? I'm also confused as to what "Too Soon" means? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wcbraymen (talk • contribs) 21:26, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- The news article is fine but the primary sources are of no use for establishing notability, we need multiple in depth coverage of the film in independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:30, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Mr. Theroadislong
I have added references from independent sources. However, I still want to be clear on how to approach references when Ms. Willis is mentioned in other people’s sources especially if the edits submitted are still not acceptable. As for All Music, did you click the link? Ms. Willis is listed in every single link as either a composer, producer, writer. Is it necessary to put independent references on every song? If so, the source would either be AllMusic or Discog.
Thank you

Hi Theroadislong.
Thank you for reviewing my Adia App page. Unfortunately you believe it is not neutral. We already actually have a page in the French site of wikipedia. You can access it here - https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adia_(entreprise)?veaction=edit§ion=2 Would it not be possible then to use this page and translate it/I'm not sure how I could do this and then edit and update this page?
Kind regards, Ross — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rossafrica (talk • contribs) 10:37, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- You say "We already actually have a page in the French site" who is we? Please note that accounts are for single person use only, and please read WP:COI. Theroadislong (talk) 10:47, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Hi Rossafrica. In addition to what Theroadislong posted above about Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest (see WP:FCOI in particular), each of the different language Wikipedia's has its own separate policies and guidelines. There may be some similarities when it comes to certain policies and guidelines, but there are also often some big differences. Since English Wikipedia has the most articles with the most people editing it and the most people reading it, its policies and guidelines in general tend to be much more restrictive and rigorously enforced than other language Wikipedias. This is particularly true when it comes to things such as WP:NPOV, WP:RS, WP:BLP, WP:N, etc. So, there being an article about the app or company on French Wikipedia doesn't not automatically mean there should be an article about the same on English Wikipedia; moreover, the article being written in a certain way or in a certain tone on French Wikipedia doesn't mean the same is acceptable for English Wikipedia. This doesn't mean that such an article cannot be written; it just means that it might be harder to do so since the standards are higher. Just looking at the draft, I'm not really seeing something which is sufficiently Wikipedia notable enough for a stand-alone article per either WP:NCORP or WP:GNG. You'll have a better chance of getting the draft approved if you can find sources which meet WP:ORGDEPTH. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:57, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- One other thing is that if you're going to submit the draft for review via WP:AFC (which I think is a good thing to do), then I think you'd be better off moving it to the draft namespace instead since I believe that'S the preferred namespace for AfC submissions. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:01, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Editor, I am brand new to Wikipedia, and appreciate your patience. Thank you so much for all your help in editing. I cleaned up the categories to the best of my abilities. Would you take a look and see if it makes sense? Can I then remove the citation at the bottom of the page "Need additional or more specific categories"? or is that something that an experienced Wikipedia editor does? I'm still confused as to how this works. I know we are all a community of editors, but I assume there are certain people who actually work for Wikipedia and have more authority/responsibility for editing new articles? Would appreciate any enlightenment... Medimauro (talk) 15:04, 18 February 2019 (UTC)medimauro

HI Theroadislong, I am struggling to add the references to make the CogitalGroup page reliable. Would you be able to offer me advice on how best to do this? Also, how do I change the overall page name to 'CogitalGroup' insetad of 'cogital'?

Flood Geology
Please read the talk section of the page before deleting people's edits. Re-directing people to the actual page on surface-water hydrology does not constitute a "Creationist POV". It was so that people who are looking for how large flows of water, i.e. floods, affect the earth, i.e. geology, will be able to skip over an article that is basically about de-bunking the biblical flood narrative and makes no effort to educate people on what the scientific field actually says. It's egregious, really.Sotuman (talk) 02:51, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Your edit included the creationist view point that it was "criticism of the Biblical Flood Theory" Theroadislong (talk) 18:15, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, well I'm sorry that not everyone can see that a criticism of the Biblical Flood Theory is exactly that.Sotuman (talk) 18:50, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- Also, no need to put template notices on my talk page, do you see me putting notices on yours? It takes two to tango, but I never learned that dance. I'm really more of a Wikipedia editor, while you seem intent on simply un-doing my edits, although you have provided some helpful info, albeit rather begrudgingly in the process.Sotuman (talk) 19:38, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- @PaleoNeonate: @Tgeorgescu: If you guys want to keep this here, that's fine. I had removed this section to the history, approximately as per when to archive and editing other user's talk pages. Whatever active discussion on the topic is at the talk page of the flood geology article, and I viewed this as a separate and concluded matter and therefore as unnecessary clutter on your page. Tgeorgescu restored what I removed via WP:TW, maybe because it was thought that the matter was not yet concluded. If you want it to stay as is, I have no objection. Please advise.Sotuman (talk) 02:31, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Please leave content on my talk page alone it is automatically archived, it's just plain rudeness to delete it. Theroadislong (talk) 08:00, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Sure thing, boss. Just FYI, nothing was deleted, it was removed to the history, easily recovered as you can see. If you want to showcase my comments here, well I consider that somewhat of an honour, so thank-you.Sotuman (talk) 02:51, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
COXWOLD POTTERY DRAFT
Hi Theroadislong
Many thanks for having looked at this draft article, and so promptly.
Also very pleased to note from your User Page that you clearly have a great interest in pottery, as shown from many images of pots, so your advice is invaluable.
I'll be very pleased to re-word the various sentences which you have highlighted. I can assure you it was never intended to be a 'eulogy'! But I guess it is a bit difficult to avoid some subjectivity - I shall try to eradicate it. Thanks ArchaicW (talk) 14:18, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- I have already copy edited for neutral tone, see what you think, I have written quite a few studio pottery articles including Michael Cardew and was a studio potter for 35 years until recently retiring.Theroadislong (talk) 14:23, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Coxwold Pottery Article
Dear Theroadislong
That is great, thank you very much. So pleased to have an expert in this area involved. I've read through your revised version, and I agree - I think I've spent too long on the draft article and ended up putting in far more detail than was really necessary or relevant! Simplifying it has improved it. I do hope other 'Admins' looking at this article now will recognise and appreciate your involvment with your background in pottery. Many thanks. Hi Theroadislong, according to my Wikipedia page Draft:Skyrora (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Skyrora) I inform the following: I can confirm that I have had no involvement with the previous creation and deletion of a Wikipedia page for the company Skyrora, I have no concerns regards this. I can confirm that this page is not intended to be advertorial, I have no involvement with the company Skyrora, however, given the recent growth in the UK Space Industry I believe that every company involved in this rapidly growing and exciting sector should be represented with information available online for the public to read and learn from. Hi Theroadislong. Thank you for the welcome message. I was confused by the larger body of the message which suggested that I may have some conflict of interest in terms of the article that I edited. This confused me because I had never heard of the subject of the post and Wikipedia immediately suggested this page for my editing. So I have no conflict of interest and I wonder where such an idea might have come from. I did look into the subject of the post and I mostly disagree with him. However, per the rules, I didn't let this influence my edits. I found links to support his claims and added them. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Laughingpillow (talk • contribs) 22:57, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Are the major reasons for declining the submission the lack of more sources? I can add a few more references, if that would make a difference. I also have some pictures. But since this business was operated by my family, some of the information included is from our family's personal knowledge and is not available from secondary sources. --1schott (talk) 22:55, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

- Thanks for that I have often wondered what caused it and never thought of edit conflict, I think you are right about the undisclosed paid editing too. Theroadislong (talk) 18:17, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- Edit conflicts are common, and cause odd things to happen. A technical term for them in computer science is race conditions. That term comes from electrical engineering (since computers are electronic engineering) and refers to a situation where the outcome depends on which signal arrives first. I occasionally tested situations where two users of a system tried to take similar actions at the same time.

I fear that I might have been overly optimistic about Hannahpartridgeig's future on enWiki. Prior to my comment on Doug's TP I viewed one of her YouTube videos, which was just as...you know...as her User page, and I thought we were in no-harm-no-foul territory. Based upon the Matt Smith (actor) edit, however, it seems I was wrong. Should we suggest to Doug, or some other admin, that she be blocked before things get out of hand? JoJo Anthrax (talk) 22:32, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi there. My page for A.D.K.O.B. has been declined under the objection of "Notability." However I believe this band does meet that criteria, specifically point #11 "Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network." The band's 2015 single "Glue" received High Rotation on Major National Radio Station triple j and was in fact the 9th most played song in 2016 (which can be shown via radio reports from Radio Montior but is not publicly released info unfortunately.)

[show]
link there; please click it an read the contents carefully. I'd suggest the last link in that section, which is Wikipedia:Verifiability, is the most important – any technical issues can be easily fixed, but the lack of reliable and independent sources will prevent the draft from becoming an article. - BTW, creating an article from scratch is one of the hardest tasks in Wikipedia. I can see you managed to do it almost perfectly. Remember, however, one of the most important requirement is supporting every information in Wikipedia with reliable sources, independent from the subject. Re: ELK Publishing Article
Hi Theroadislong,
Thanks for looking through the article. As a newbie, I guess it will take me some time to work out all the glitches. I have looked through the comments and have applied what was asked. I'm not sure, but I think the reviewers might have still been looking at the first attempt(14 Feb) and not the revised. References to unpublished work do not exist on the article and I thought newspaper articles and interviews were reliable sources? This is why I think reviewers might have been looking at the first attempt. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, could you please point out the 'peacock terms' for me?
Additionally, references 5, 10 and 11 at the bottom of the article - I have tried to resurrect, but I'm not sure what I am doing wrong - They still present as missing or empty. Would you be able to take a look at them for me?
Cheers!

- It reads like a marketing department wrote it..."unique, select works" "Prominent writers and presenters for the USQ Bookcase Writers Festival" "a solution to publishing educational books for disadvantaged school children" "a platform to showcase their unique artistic talents and abilities." "competitions are inundated with hundreds of entries and manuscripts are of a particular, high standard." Wikipedia cannot reference itself and Amazon links are of no use for establishing notability. Re: Publishing Article
Thank you again, Theroadislong. It sounds like you have had a hard day. I do hope it improves.
I am doing my best to stay within the guidelines of Wikipedia and fix the requests. Thank you for pointing out my discrepancies.
Being a Newbie, it is quite difficult to know everything in the first instance of doing a post. Given this is the first one. I do hope you understand that it takes time to learn the protocols and one does not go out of their way to break the rules. It sounds like you have been doing this for quite a long time.
Given Wikipedia is a communal effort, I expected Wikipedia would be grateful for outside assistance in building on/keeping going the wonderful work that has been created to date. One does not expect to be ridiculed on the first go of placing an article. I'm so sorry for not being up to speed - I will do better. PS General politeness would go down a treat here, also. Either way, I do hope my articles are as good as yours, eventually, though I expect that will take me sometime. How long did it take you to master the art of Wikipedia?
I'll get back to you, to let you know how I am faring. Thank you again for your patience. Vanahail (talk) 11:39, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Vanahail
- Vanahail Creating an article from scratch is the most difficult task on Wikipedia, so you have dived in at the deep end, your draft reads like a marketing department wrote it and I wonder if indeed you have any connection with the company? Theroadislong (talk) 12:45, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Help regarding a recent rejection
Hi Theroadislong. You recently commented on, and rejected, and biographical stub (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ally_Adnan_(executive)) for quite some time now. Previously it was said that there is not enough coverage of him and I spent a considerable amount of time gathering information and links but am still getting the same feedback. My request to you is that: Please help me understand what I can do to publish with the current refrences. Often time I see entries on Wikipedia and they are not even referencing half of what I have added as sources. Is there a way to publish this as a biographical stub? I want to get 'Ally Adnan' on Wikipedia as he has become a pretty popular speaker and people should be atleast able to see a short biography/info blob about him on Wiki.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Draft:Mac Sleyney
Hi,
I have received the rejection of the above article, with the reason that it does "not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject."
I feel this is incorrect in that I went back to primary sources, by retrieving the relevant books at the library of Trinity College Dublin. In particular, the books "The pipe rolls of Cloyne" and "The Irish fiants of the Tudor sovereigns" are rare books or limited edition and are not available in electronic form on the Internet. Some photos of pages are below.
You left the comment that "it looks like a family history project". (Whats the issue here??) While the subject is of familial and personal interest, it pertains to an important family from the 16th Century in Ireland about which any oral and written history is long lost within my family or anywhere else. As mentioned above, I went to primary sources to research the subject. The subject is not just of interest to me, but to anybody whose surname has a root of Mac Sleyney (in irish translation or in english). I am using the wikiepedia page as a means of stimulating research, interest into the Mac Sleyney family, for which there is no commercial or monetary gain.
I would appreciate, if you could reconsider the rejection of the above article.
Thanks for your time, its appreciated.
