Asian Fetish article
[edit]Didn't like to write down what you cancelled on "Asian fetish", hm ? See www.humanevolution.net. Trust in me, I am a professor of anthropology.The next counterproductive edit war will end in the deletion of this leftist-biased article just as "virago".80.138.178.110 23:43, 12 January 2006 (UTC).Bias is against the wikipedia's policy.
- Please refrain from editing an already controversial article to include material that misrepresents scientific research. The POV issues in the article are being worked on.--ThreeAnswers 05:26, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Please stop to deny that Ashley Montague just as the mainstream considered the Mongolids pedomorphous.Denying the obvious is ridiculous. The guys who did that on "virago" are now sad because of the deletion of the whole leftist article. You may add that feminists consider Asian women curveless and "phallic" , but stop to deny long-establich facts otherwise the edit war will end in a total deletion may it take 1 year or longer.I will never stop to edit the truth as I didn't on "virago".
Hello. Could you please provide references for this article? Otherwise it will look like original research. Thanks. JoaoRicardotalk 06:02, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Category:Stanley Cup Champions
[edit]Hi there,
you taged my category "Category:Stanley Cup Champions" for speedy remaning to Category:Stanley Cup winners". I don't object to this sort of thing when it is appropriate, however, those individuals who win the stanley cup are not called "winners" they are refered to as Champions. I content that the current name is approriate, especially since it is a team trophey, rather than an individual award. Michael Drew 02:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
- Right now though, List of Stanley Cup champions produces a list of the teams who won it. So we have two pages of "Stanley Cup Champions]] but one is for teams and one is for individuals. I think we both agree it would be best not to have it that way.
- It's common for individuals to be referred to both as a "Stanley Cup winner" or "Stanley Cup champion". For example: [1][2][3] Many Wikipedia articles refer to individuals as "winners" rather than "champions": for example John Muckler and Andy Moog. As your category is newer than the list of team champions (and I think it is awesome that you made it by the way) it will just be simpler to change it rather than the older one.--ThreeAnswers 02:57, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I saw you left a comment at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 January 16 regarding this category, but didn't vote on the subject. There are currently 4 delete votes and 1 keep vote on it so it would most likely get deleted without additional votes either way. - Bobet 15:11, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Actually, I wasn't the one who started the article; credit should go to User:Ryoske; I merely added a link to the article.--Confuzion 19:53, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you! I thought nobody would notice the article, it doesn't seem to show up on Google for some reason. I'll put that second link in the links section.--Ryoske 01:40, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Jang Sun-wu
[edit]Annyeonghaseyo! You don't perchance know Jang Sun-wu's name in Hangul? Or some alternative spelling? I'm looking for more info, but google on this spelling yields only 4 results (and only 1 in English, and none in Korean). --대조 | Talk 07:40, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- kamsahamnida. Jang Sun-Woo yields a much more successful google. I'm going to move it there. Unfortunately this computer doesn't have Hangul keyboard layouts either, and my own computer can't connect to wikipedia (ISP problems). But I'll put it in my todo. --대조 | Talk 07:57, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- Is this right: "장선우" I copy-pasted it, but I can't see it w/o Korean fonts, and don't want to include it without making sure it's accurate. Is it hangul or hanja? --대조 | Talk 08:13, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's correct. It's written in hangul and there are corresponding hanja, but I don't know which they are.--ThreeAnswers 08:32, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Deleted articles
[edit]Hi! The reason your articles were deleted is because they simply did not meet minimum inclusion because of their length. Simply saying "XYZ is a 2004 South Korean film" and nothing else is a speedy deletion under criterion A1 as an article with little or no content. You may, of course, recreate the articles, but please add some basic information about the films, like some basic plot outlines, directorial staff, awards, etc. Someone researching your subjectas already knows they're researching a South Korean film. :) Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 06:41, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Babe Ruth
[edit]I'm posting this message on you Talk Page either because you've contributed to the article Babe Ruth, or because you've edited other baseball or sports related articles. I've recently completed a revision of this article at Babe Ruth/rewrite. If you have the time, I'd appreciated it if you'd compare the articles and leave any feedback you might have on the rewrite discussion page. I'd like to reach a consensus before makeing major changes to the main article. Thanks for your help. --djrobgordon 20:08, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Categorisation of stub templates
[edit]Why are you categorising (seemingly essentially every) stub template? This is expressly contrary to the stated scope of Category:Wikipedia templates ("Please do not add specific templates themselves to this category"), and was in no way anticipated by, or discussed with, the stub-sorting project -- which has a "model" for the coding of stub templates, and that doesn't include any such thing. Alai 22:51, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I think the original category was created for no apparent reason, and things just seem to have snowballed from there. There's lots of actual stubs in need of categorisation, though, if you're inclined to help out there! Alai 16:13, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
new Portal:Korea
[edit]User:Visviva has worked hard to create a brand new Portal:Korea. Please take a look & contribute if you can. I think the new Template:Korea topics has the potential to be a more useful reference tool than categories or lists, if editors continue to expand and update it. It's also a good reminder for help & requests on ye olde notice board. Hopefully, this will help revive some activity all around. Appleby 22:15, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, ThreeAnswers. The Asian fetish article is at the center of another big edit war again, this time between Gnetwerker, who thinks that Asian fetish is defined as pornography involving Asian women, and me, who thinks that it is defined as men who are obsessed with Asian women. There's been a lot of controversy in the past, but this one is just plain ridiculous. In order to reach for NPOV, we really, desperately need some editors who are familiar with the various points of view on the subject as you are. Thanks in advance. Best, Wzhao553 13:15, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- The comment above grossly misrepresents my position. -- Gnetwerker 23:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Art. 134 of the UCMJ seems to be a very general article indeed. I think you'd have to prove / cite specific evidence to show that paying a bar fine is a direct contravention of that rule. If it's inside knowledge in the military that this is the case then it isn't in the general population, I was a teacher and therefore AFN viewer in Korea hence my interest in this topic and laymans knowledge about UCMJ. [edit]Editorials
[edit]The Chosen Ilbo editorial can not be used as a reference, it is an editorial. It is the POV opinion of that writer. If you want we can state under Japanese occupation 6 to 7 million Koreans died over a period of 35 years and under Rhee 30,000 to 100,000 died over a 5 year period. But you can't write the opinion comparison of two different time periods. Please think of a better solution if you do not like my suggestion. Thanks

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Lee Dae-ro Can't Die movie poster.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Lee Dae-ro Can't Die movie poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use Image:Brian Leetch.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Brian Leetch.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pascal.Tesson 02:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use disputed for Image:New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Duelist movie poster.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:The_Presidents_Barber_DVD_cover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The_Presidents_Barber_DVD_cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 18:58, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Address Unknown movie poster.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Address Unknown movie poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:51, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Princess Aurora movie poster.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Princess Aurora movie poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:29, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Center for Asian American Media
[edit]A tag has been placed on Center for Asian American Media requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Toddst1 (talk) 18:54, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem
[edit]Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello ThreeAnswers! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 8 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

The article Brandy Grace has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:ENT, WP:PORNBIO, and the GNG. No nontrivial GNews or GBooks hits.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 23:11, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Epeefleche (talk) 22:09, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Stanford Journal of East Asian Affairs
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stanford Journal of East Asian Affairs, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 09:48, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
