Care over changes of spelling, etc

Most of your edits make minor changes to details such as spellings. Unfortunately, some of those changes have not been helpful, for a number of reasons, including the following.

You have sometimes made inappropriate changes of National varieties of English, as for example replacing "Defence" with "Defense" in a link to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence. In a context which specifically refers to a British institution", the spelling normally used in Britain is the appropriate one.
You have replaced normally recognised English spellings with obscure, non-standard ones, as for example replacing "shia" with "shiaa". Whatever may be the case in other languages, "shia" is overwhelmingly the usual spelling in English.
You have replaced normal idiomatic English with unnatural English, as for example when you replaced "The initial hardline approach" with "The initial hardliner approach".
You have sometimes broken links, as for example when you replaced a link to the article Muhammad Shiya al-Sudani, which exists, with one Muhammad Shiya al-Sudane, which doesn't.

Please be careful to avoid making similar mistakes again. Sorting out the constructive edits you have made from the many unhelpful ones would take a good deal of time and effort. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:39, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
