Agouti

[edit]

Welcome to wikipedia! I appreciate the information you added to Agouti (gene), looks like you put a lot of work into it. But, I do think that article should continue to be about the gene in mammals in general and not in mice specifically. Happy editing, Iamnotabunny (talk) 20:24, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Iamnotabunny and Vaandrews: My suggestion is to move the latest additions to Agouti-signaling protein and restore the previous, less technical material to Agouti (gene). Even better would be to merge the two articles (including both the less and more technical material) as the gene and the protein encoded by that gene are highly interrelated. Thoughts? @Boghog: I'm fine with either of those. When I started this, I was going for a description of phenotypes caused by different agouti alleles in various species, but now that I think about it a list would be better for that anyway. I've just re-added the information from the previous version that I would want to see in Agouti-signaling protein if they were merged. I think the cat hair picture is probably worth keeping too, since banding patterns in hairs are such a major part of what ASP and α-MSH do normally. For the rest, I'm inclined to make a List of Agouti alleles with phenotypic effects or something if I get around to it. Iamnotabunny (talk) 08:19, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
