Hi Viji683!
I have done a bit of work on the draft for the Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar article.
Here is what I have done:
- Added links to other articles on Wikipedia
- General reformatting
- Used the past tense instead of the present, as he died in 2004
- Formatted citations
- Removed unreliable sources
However, I am still not convinced that he meets the criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia here or here.
If you are confident that he meets the criteria for inclusion, please move it to Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar. I must warn you that I would probably propose it for deletion regardless - whether it is an article (using the Articles for deletion (AfD) process) or is kept as a user page as it currently is (using the Miscellaneous for deletion (MfD) process).
This is not a reflection on the work you have done, but there are defined standards of notability for the English-language Wikipedia, and I do not feel that Bhagevatar meets that standard.
If I have not heard from you within a week of placing this message on the page, I will assume that you are not coming back to work on the article, and I will go to MfD - if you work on it and I still do not feel he meets the standard for inclusion, I will go to either AfD (if it's been moved to article space) or MfD.

Hello PhantomSteve,
You had sent a message to me(Viji683) on August 23rd.I checked the message only today. So the late response.I created an article titled "Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar" which was deleted. I understand the reasons for deletion and i want to create a new article with the same title. You had mentioned in my talk page about changing the name of the title from "Bhagavatar" to "Bhagevatar".Bhagavatar is a sanskrit word for person who is an exponent in music and story telling. Mannargudi Samabasiva Bhagavatar name is already listed in Wikipedia under the title Harikatha, Katha(Storytelling format),Pravachan and also under Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer.I want to create a new article with the same title so that it may link to the name "Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar" which is already listed in Wikipedia.
Thanks,

- You do not need to copy a response onto my talk page - this page is on my watchlist. If you really want to leave a notification, use the Talkback template rather than copying the message itself!
- I mistyped Bhagavatar above as Bhagevatar - I have corrected it now. From what I can see of the draft you have at User:Viji683/sandbox, he does not appear to meet the criteria for inclusion. Whether other Bhagavatars have articles on wikipedia (such as Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer) is irrelevant to whether or not Sambasiva should have one. I would in fact argue that Iyer should perhaps not have an article (I will look into it in more detail at a future time), however we are not discussing that article at the moment! If you feel that I am wrong, and that Sambasiva's article shows that he meets the notability criteria, feel free to move it to Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar. If myself or someone else wants to, it can be nominated for deletion and the community can decide on the issue! If you do not feel confident in moving it yourself, reply here and I am happy to do it for you. If I move it, I will not nominate it for deletion for at least a week, to allow you (and other editors) the opportunity of finding more substantial sources to demonstrate his notability. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 18:53, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- I should also mention that if no further work is done on the article and it is left at your sandbox, I will consider nominating it for deletion at Miscellany for deletion, as a user draft should not be kept indefinitely - it should either be moved to mainspace as a Wikipedia article or deleted PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 18:57, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Hello PhantomSteve, Iam currently working on the article and i have made changes in my sandbox.I will finish the article and submit it within a week. Thanks,Viji683
- Please note that YouTube is not considered a reliable source as far as Wikipedia defines it. Also, a list of his works which is unreferenced at reliable source(s) would not usually be considered suitable in an article about a musician - it looks like original research. I strongly suggest that you find some reliable sources which are independent of the subject. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 08:59, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
The compositions which i have listed are released in CD's and also printed in a book titled 'Sangeetha ratna mala'.You can verify this in the source that i provided 'Exponent in many ways'. Under the Hindu article dated Dec 01,2005, it says, "His sahityams are compiled and published as `Sangeetha Ratna Mala.' The compositions have been recorded on CDs and cassettes." "Three cassettes containing his compositions were released two years ago. M. Chandrasekaran, Jayakrishnan, K.V. Krishnan, Namagiri Ramesh and P. V. Geetha have rendered the songs. A CD of Muthuswamy Dikshitar Charithram by Sambasiva Bhagavathar was released two years ago." The Youtube link that i provided has one of the tracks of the CD recording by Jayakrishnan. If you want i can remove the youtube link but the source is reliable. Also the book 'Sangeetha ratna mala' which has the compositions is not published in English. It is published in an Indian language,Tamil. If you want i can scan the cover or pages of the book for your reference. - The book itself can certainly be mentioned, but I feel that a list of his compositions is not appropriate, unless any of them meet the criteria for notability in their own right. Overall, I still feel that this article is not showing the notability of the person. Also the raaga website does not appear to meet the criteria as a reliable source. I have provided enough sources or references and submitted the article "Mannargudi Sambasiva Bhagavatar" for review.I suggest that the article can come under Wikiprject India(India portal) and Wikiproject Indian music as the artcle is about an Indian musician.Viji683 (talk) 00:07, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Viji683
