My infinite ban was a hasty decision:
#I not received a warning for my article and was banned outright. #My article contained no blatant advertisements or defamation of other companies. #I have not vandalized nor created a disruption of any kind #My article might have been an infraction of the guidelines but a complete ban is quite severe please bottom of talk page if further detail is needed
Decline reason:
As this user's only interest in Wikipedia is promotional, there is no need for an unblock. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:50, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
I understand that there is alot of spam attempts in Wikipedia. I am not here with the intention of spamming our services to this stie as I know the result will be in a baning and deletion of content anyway.
After reviewing accepted company articles such as vbuzzer and VoicePulse, I was under the impression that it was acceptable to have our similar company's article inserted. So, I made an article that was in the same general format in a similar neutral fashion.
Further, at the bottom of the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest page, it states that users may be blocked IF their editing history shows that the account was only created to promote the company or individual. I have only created the one article and was deleted without warning or guidance.
My choice of username was made in passing and, in hindsight, a poor choice. I would like to change the name if given the opportunity.
- So far, all of your edits have been related to your company. Now that you know that Wikipedia editors avoid writing about themselves or their own companies, do you still want an active account? Now that you are not going to write about your company anymore, what other kinds of useful edits do you see yourself making in the future? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 14:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Like I said before, I tried to write the article from a neutral point of view. I did not put in any promotional material, just the facts on the company.
- What I don't understand, is why similar companies such as VoicePulse and vbuzzer can have an article. They are just as notable as we are and their articles are obviously for self promotion. The only reason I made this article is because I noticed that smaller VoIP companies have one and judging from the articles histories, they have generally been accepted
- If my company's article will be deleted, then I have little use for this account (as it is). But can you please at least remove the block on this IP address? This halts everyone at my company from making unrelated edits and contributions to Wikipedia.Voiceway (talk) 15:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Your IP shouldn't be blocked, because this block was made with autoblocking disabled. (If you want to check this, try logging out and then editing the sandbox, and see if you are able to.) As for why VoicePulse and vbuzzer have articles: I don't know anything about those companies or those articles. It's possible they don't belong, but two wrongs don't make a right. See WP:CORP for our guidelines on what kind of corporate articles are appropriate. Mangojuicetalk 15:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

- Can you please delete this account then, I'd rather not have it upVoiceway (talk) 16:02, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but it's not possible to delete accounts, because of our copyright policy. If you want to, go ahead and edit this page and remove all the text from it. It will eventually be deleted. But the account itself will not be deleted. Mangojuicetalk 16:03, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
