Managing a comflict of interest
[edit]After reviewing your edits, it has become apparent that you are promoting books published by Pippa Rann Books. Please be aware that this is not permitted and is considered spamming.
Hello, Weinfelden. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Skyerise (talk) 14:57, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Hindu astrology. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 15:10, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing that out. The link will be deleted, if you have not already deleted it. 2.26.170.252 (talk) 16:37, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies. I was unaware of the COI rules, which I have now read.
- In future, I will post only in the approved way, according to the guidelines. 2.26.170.252 (talk) 16:48, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
