The article Judicaël Perroy has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 07:35, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

referencing

[edit]

The Wikipedia coding takes care of a lot of referencing issues. See WP:REFB for an introduction on how to use them. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 23:18, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Judicaël Perroy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 23:25, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thanks for your message. Julian Bream is a poor model. It's a start class article already tagged for lacking in references. However, he is undoubtedly notable. Compare with, say Olivier Messiaen. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines.
  • Although you gave references, multiply repeated, effectively they consist of a college concert programme, an interview with him and a mention in a book. None of these has a web link, so we can't verify what has been said. If he was genuinely notable, I would have expected mention in a high quality on-line source such as the web versions of major newspapers, music magazines or books too.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of claims presented as fact but unsourced or sourced only to him include: propelled to the international scene... the prestigious... world-wide recognition... first-rate artist... Many of his students had been competition winners... his eclectic side... a first in the world of the classical guitar... has been highly praised.

If you recreate

  • Add links to other articles, like Paris, acoustic guitar
  • If you want to repeat a ref, on the first occurrence format beginning with <ref name=suitablename> and ending with </ref>, and on future occurrences just use <ref name =suitablename/>
  • Consider creating a draft here first and let me know if you want me to review it
  • Let me know if you need the deleted text, if so I'll post it in the link above

I think you are struggling here. Although you added three web links, they just confirm that the publications exist, but don't verify any of the text. If you can't find proper references (not his site, social media, Youtube or sales sites like Amazon) he simply isn't notable enough for a Wikipedia article. His teachers don't seem to have been linked to Wikipedia articles, so they may not be notable either. He seems to have won one notable competition, but we can't verify that anyway
The text still contains unverifiable claims and spam such as He was dubbed a "child prodigy"... His talent was crowned.... Unless you can find decent references (which don't have to be in English), this will be deleted again, by someone else if not me.

OK, a way forward. The Viloteau article is deficient, but has an article we can read as its ref. French Wikipedia has different rules, that article would be deleted here. I found this ref <ref>[http://www.adelaidefestivalcentre.com.au/guitar-festival/artists/judicael-perroy/ Adelaide Festival Centre]</ref>. Although the tone is non-neutral, at least we can actually read something about him. Post it again, with or without the Australian ref, and I'll leave it be. That way, at least we can see if it's just me. Good luck Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:34, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Judicaël Perroy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here.  GILO   A&E 22:06, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, you are obviously working on this in good faith, but the lack of accessible references makes it difficult to write in a neutral tone Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:34, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can let it pass only in the sense of not deleting or tagging it myself. Other editors have to make their own decisions, there is no one-off stamp of approval Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:11, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I made these edits. You need to say who claimed he was a child prodigy, otherwise it's just spam. If it was said by someone we have never heard of (ie, without a Wikipedia article) or someone with an obvious interest, take it out Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:31, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
