Welcome!
Hi, Zziccardi. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page contains a lot of helpful material for new users—please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. I took care of the problem you saw at Sanford H. Calhoun High School. But wikipedia really is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit, so if you find problems or articles that need to be changed, feel free to make the changes yourself. Apple Watch
Looks like this is just devolving into an edit war vs one (maybe two) IP editors. I'm not going to edit the page directly again today to make sure I don't violate 3RR but obviously if this continues, we'll have to find an admin to help restore the peace. WWB (talk) 18:19, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed. I still have two reverts remaining today, but I'd prefer not to use them unless it's absolutely necessary. How long do you think we should wait before contacting an administrator? ~zziccardi (talk) 18:28, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- Good question. I was thinking about putting a comment on the Talk page for this most recent IP address, although my assumption is that this is the same person behind a floating IP, so it might not do much good. My philosophy is always: it's OK to "lose" in the short term when you know you're going to "win" in the long term. In this case, I'd say we'll have shown an abundance of patience if we wait until tomorrow. WWB (talk) 18:56, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- I'm fairly certain it's the same anonymous person, as well. That two different anonymous editors would target the same article for the same reasons within such a short period of time seems extremely unlikely. Anyway, I've just completed a massive copy edit of the article, and I removed the templates in question once more while I was at it. Now, I'm going to wait and see what happens. If the templates do magically reappear on the page, I think waiting until tomorrow to contact an administrator is certainly reasonable. ~zziccardi (talk) 22:51, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but, hey, seems like we've outlasted the B.S. Hooray for us? WWB (talk) 08:03, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
Certainly. Cheers! zziccardi (talk) 15:06, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- Never mind; I just checked the page. Sigh. Perhaps we should just leave the page as it is for a week or so and see if any other editors get involved. As far as I'm concerned, the article is as good as it's going to get until the device's actual release, when all of the reviews will be published. —zziccardi (talk) 15:25, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah. Well, I went ahead and filed a dispute resolution notice, partly to see what the process is like. Might have to take this to a user conduct review, since the IP is, in my opinion, violating WP:NPA. That said, considering how often invocation of NPA is met with a counter-accusation of the same, I'm going to tread lightly. So, we'll see where it goes. Best, WWB (talk) 13:30, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- All right. I'm interested to see where this goes as well; I'm not familiar with the dispute resolution process at all either. If you need backup of any sort, feel free to reach out to me. —zziccardi (talk) 17:21, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- So I finally found the time to do some research and rewrite the "Reception" section of the article, which I've now renamed Initial reception. I've quoted a bit more broadly, preserving some of the sources, but doing away entirely with the opinion polls. I'll be curious to see if there's any more activity here in the near future. Best, WWB (talk) 18:23, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Hello, again, and thanks for giving me a heads-up. I took a look at the section, and by all means, you made nice progress. I tweaked a few minor things in an otherwise lovely paragraph. Let's hope further nonconstructive predicaments won't arise. Sincerely, —zziccardi (talk) 21:31, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Apple S1
I know this is a self link. I have marked the redirect page with "{{Redirect with possibilities}}
- in the hope that the link would encourage people to create an article there. I suppose I should create the article myself...
All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 16:13, 13 September 2014 (UTC).
- Sounds good to me. I'd offer to help you with the S1's page, but I don't think we'd be able to find any reliable sources yet. Once the Watch is released, though, I'm sure Ars Technica and AnandTech, among others, will have lots of information on it. Thanks, —zziccardi (talk) 16:18, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
Halo: Combat Evolved
Your description of the character Master Chief is wrong, according to all official literature of the fictional Universe of Halo. I've corrected it several times and according to edit history you revert the corrections... Please read the books to get a better idea of the nature of the character if you insist in being the one that last edit the page. Thank you

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.
This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help this dispute come to a resolution. Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! --Acetotyce (talk) 19:41, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
Please be careful about script date formatting
Per WP:DATERET, dates should be unified to the prevailing standard in the article - the date format is separate for in-prose dates, and reference dates. Using scripts to make changes like this [1] where you are normalizing away from the clear prevailing standard (in this case the use of YYYY-MM-DD for reference formats) is generally not acceptable, though discussion by consensus to make that change is a reasonable step. I would check some of your other edits too from looking at past used of the script. --MASEM (t) 21:54, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- From the message you left on my talk, please be aware that dates in prose and dates in references can be two different formats, so that "use myd dates" template (which I do agree applies to Valve's games) is only for prose dates, not reference ones. The bulk of the dates in both articles are using the yyyy-mm-dd format for date and accessdate for references, so this is acceptable and should not be changed without consensus per DATERET. --MASEM (t) 22:22, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, again, Masem. Thank you for informing me; I was unaware that date formats used in references can be different from those used within the actual text of an article. Fear not—having only learned of the script today, I've made a relatively small number of edits using it, and I'm more than happy to double-check my edits for any other errors I may have made while using it. Just to clarify, there is no issue updating the article on Portal 2 such that all dates in the text of it adhere to the mm-dd-yyyy format, correct? —zziccardi (talk) 23:18, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Ostend Manifesto
Apologies for the intervention (and I'm not familiar with any processes at present), I actually found the article both well written and fascinating. I know Wiki articles are not for original research and I am certainly not interested in conspiracy games, but I did come away from this article with more questions than answers regarding the role of Pierre Soulé. Just an observation - please feel free to revert my edit. User: Pupsikon Pupsikon 09:15, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, Pupsikon. No worries—you are more than welcome to leave a message here on my talk page. In fact, that is precisely what user talk pages are for! I've left you a welcome message containing many useful links for new editors on your talk page; hopefully, any questions you may have will be answered in the pages to which I've linked you. If not, again, feel free to reply to this message and ask me any questions you may have about contributing to Wikipedia. I'm always more than happy to help new editors.
- As for your concerns regarding Ostend Manifesto, I'd highly recommend that you leave a message on the article's talk page, saying exactly what you told me here—that you found the article to be well-written and fascinating (which I'm glad to hear), but that you came away from it with more questions than answers as to the role of Pierre Soulé. (If you need help doing so, ask!) What you are looking at right now is my user talk page, a place where any editor may leave me a note or ask me, specifically, a question. User talk pages are different, however, from article talk pages, where any user may express concerns he or she may have about the content of an article, ask for the input of others before making major changes to an article, or otherwise make recommendations for improving the article in question. It may be the case that other editors believe going into more detail about Soulé's involvement would be beyond the scope of the Ostend Manifesto article, or, it may be the case that many others agree with you that more information about his relationship to the manifesto should be added to the article. This is why bringing the issue up on the article's talk page is so important—otherwise, there's no way to know how other editors may feel about your concerns.
- I look forward to hearing back from you. Cheers! —zziccardi (talk) 16:31, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Many thanks for your courteous and helpful reply. I followed your advice re the Ostend Manifesto, it's a bit beyond my resources to assist with regard to any research on the matter at the moment - as always time can be an enemy. I am trying to gain some recruits to assist on some other articles that seem to need expansion and clarification where my previous life experiences (for good or bad!) might be useful. The links were very helpful; so much to take in and gain from - please feel free to contact me with any points or other ideas. User:Pupsikon Pupsikon 11:16, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, again, and you're quite welcome! Yes, the real world does tend to get in the way of other activities, doesn't it? If you'd like assistance working on an article or some feedback on the progress you've made so far, feel free to give me a holler. As always, I'm more than happy to help. Further, I'm glad to hear the links were of use; and, yes, there certainly is much to learn (hopefully not overwhelmingly so!). Not to assign you more homework, but if you feel you've acquired a thorough understanding of the Simplified Manual of Style, to which I previously linked you, why not set aside some time to read the Manual of Style in its entirety? It's rather lengthy, albeit extremely helpful in that it comprehensively covers just about any style issue you could imagine. Sincerely, —zziccardi (talk) 14:25, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Rollback
Hi Zziccardi. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! —Tom Morris (talk) 21:47, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you kindly, and I'll be sure to ask if I have any questions. Here's to eliminating vandalism! —zziccardi (talk) 01:01, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
Use of Reflinks
How did you get User:Zhaofeng Li/Reflinks to work? I cannot enter the article name. Did you have to add something to your scripts? Thanks. Student7 (talk) 22:54, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, Student7. In order to use the script, I added the following line to my common.js file, as is documented here:
importScript('User:Zhaofeng Li/Reflinks.js'); // [[User:Zhaofeng Li/Reflinks]]
- I hope this helps. If not, feel free to leave me another message and I'll do my best to help you troubleshoot. All the best, —zziccardi (talk) 01:00, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Zziccardi! Piggybacking on to TParis's post above, I noticed your edits while Endometrial cancer was at TFA, and hoped to entice you over to WP:FAC as a reviewer. FAC is always short on reviewers, and your demonstrated competence would be a welcome asset! Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2008-04-07/Dispatches might help should you decide to join in. - Hello, SandyGeorgia, and thanks for stopping by. Lately, I've been trying to become more active in improving featured articles at large, and I'd definitely be interested in lending a hand with reviewing FACs. That said, as I have my last few final exams throughout the next week, I won't be able to dive into reviewing until they're over with. If a week goes by and I haven't left a comment or two, please feel free to ping me! Thanks, again, and I looking forward to collaborating on FACs soon. —zziccardi (talk) 00:25, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

This user Uaat , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Uaat , Vandalism a lot of article for a long time , can you stop this guy ? thank you ViPremierce (talk) 13:15, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, ViPremierce. As several other editors, such as Prhartcom, have pointed out, it appears you are in a content dispute with Uaat. Please take a look at Dispute resolution, Wikipedia's policy on resolving disputes with other editors, as well as at the policy on edit warring; be especially sure to familiarize yourself with the three-revert rule, which both you and he or she have violated. The first step in resolving any dispute is to calmly approach the editor at his or her talk page and explain in a civil, polite manner with which edits you disagree and why. Assume good faith and try to achieve consensus. If you are unable to do so, you may wish to request outside input; seek mediation; and, if all else fails, contact the Arbitration Committee (although, in this case, visiting the administrators' noticeboard would almost certainly be a better option). Franchises
Hi. You seemed to disagree with my categorizing Frozen franchise article into the category for Disney franchises. You did have a point by saying that the article has already been present in a sub-category of the aforementioned one. However, I think that the article should be added to both the category of Disney franchises in general (since it itself is a franchise) and the category of the film (since the franchise is resulted from the film's success). If you notice in the Disney franchise category, other franchise articles are categorized in the same way. For now I have restored my revision in consistent with those. If you have any counterarguments, please let me know on my talk page. Thank you and have a nice day. —ALittleQuenhi (talk to me) 05:47, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Quenhitran. Normally, I'd say that as per WP:SUBCAT it's unnecessary for an article to be added to a category when it's already in one of its subcategories, but it looks like that section is currently under discussion. You certainly make a good point about being consistent with other articles in Category:Disney franchises, so I agree that it couldn't hurt to keep the category on Frozen (franchise) and apologize for the inconvenience. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. All the best, zziccardi (talk) 16:19, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

Invitation
Hello, Zziccardi,
The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and try to fix these small things, too.
You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.
More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

VisualEditor News #2—2015
Since the last newsletter, the Editing Team has fixed many bugs and worked on VisualEditor's performance, the Citoid reference service, and support for languages with complex input requirements. Status reports are posted on Mediawiki.org. The worklist for April through June is available in Phabricator.
The weekly task triage meetings continue to be open to volunteers, each Wednesday at 11:00 (noon) PDT (18:00 UTC). You do not need to attend the meeting to nominate a bug for consideration as a Q4 blocker. Instead, go to Phabricator and "associate" the Editing team's Q4 blocker project with the bug. Learn how to join the meetings and how to nominate bugs at mw:Talk:VisualEditor/Portal.
Recent improvements
VisualEditor is now substantially faster. In many cases, opening the page in VisualEditor is now faster than opening it in the wikitext editor. The new system has improved the code speed by 37% and network speed by almost 40%.
The Editing team is slowly adding auto-fill features for citations. This is currently available only at the French, Italian, and English Wikipedias. The Citoid service takes a URL or DOI for a reliable source, and returns a pre-filled, pre-formatted bibliographic citation. After creating it, you will be able to change or add information to the citation, in the same way that you edit any other pre-existing citation in VisualEditor. Support for ISBNs, PMIDs, and other identifiers is planned. Later, editors will be able to improve precision and reduce the need for manual corrections by contributing to the Citoid service's definitions for each website.
Citoid requires good TemplateData for your citation templates. If you would like to request this feature for your wiki, please post a request in the Citoid project on Phabricator. Include links to the TemplateData for the most important citation templates on your wiki.
The special character inserter has been improved, based upon feedback from active users. After this, VisualEditor was made available to all users of Wikipedias on the Phase 5 list on 30 March. This affected 53 mid-size and smaller Wikipedias, including Afrikaans, Azerbaijani, Breton, Kyrgyz, Macedonian, Mongolian, Tatar, and Welsh.
Work continues to support languages with complex requirements, such as Korean and Japanese. These languages use input method editors ("IMEs”). Recent improvements to cursoring, backspace, and delete behavior will simplify typing in VisualEditor for these users.
The design for the image selection process is now using a "masonry fit" model. Images in the search results are displayed at the same height but at variable widths, similar to bricks of different sizes in a masonry wall, or the "packed" mode in image galleries. This style helps you find the right image by making it easier to see more details in images.
You can now drag and drop categories to re-arrange their order of appearance on the page.
The pop-up window that appears when you click on a reference, image, link, or other element, is called the "context menu". It now displays additional useful information, such as the destination of the link or the image's filename. The team has also added an explicit "Edit" button in the context menu, which helps new editors open the tool to change the item.
Invisible templates are marked by a puzzle piece icon so they can be interacted with. Users also will be able to see and edit HTML anchors now in section headings.
Users of the TemplateData GUI editor can now set a string as an optional text for the 'deprecated' property in addition to boolean value, which lets you tell users of the template what they should do instead (T90734).
Looking ahead
The special character inserter in VisualEditor will soon use the same special character list as the wikitext editor. Admins at each wiki will also have the option of creating a custom section for frequently used characters at the top of the list. Instructions for customizing the list will be posted at mediawiki.org.
The team is discussing a test of VisualEditor with new users, to see whether they have met their goals of making VisualEditor suitable for those editors. The timing is unknown, but might be relatively soon.

WikiProject Hillary Rodham Clinton
You are invited to join WikiProject Hillary Clinton, a WikiProject dedicated to improving articles related to American politician Hillary Clinton. You received this invitation because of your history editing articles related to her. The WikiProject Hillary Clinton group discussion is here. If you are interested in joining, please visit the project page, and add your name to the list of participants. |
Thanks for your consideration, and please note that joining this project is in no way an endorsement of HRC or her political positions. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:54, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Another Believer, and thank you for the invitation. At this time, I'm going to respectfully decline the offer, as I am not particularly knowledgable on Hillary Clinton (or on politics as a whole), and I don't feel qualified to substantially contribute to articles related to her. I'll probably still drop by every now and then to make minor improvements—I suspect there will be lots of noteworthy content to add to her biography in the coming months. Best of luck with getting the WikiProject going. —zziccardi (talk) 15:12, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
