The Persian Gulf War was between the 2nd of August 1990 to the 28th of February 1991. The conflict was between Iraq and a coalition force that consisted of 35 different nations. The attack was authorized by the United Nations which is better known as the UN. The Gulf War was mainly led by the United States in order to liberate Kuwait. There are three main causes of the Persian Gulf War, these include the invasion of Kuwait, the fight for oil and the fear of weapons of mass destruction (these included Nuclear, biological, chemical and scud missile programs).
Causes of the war:[edit]The main reason for the Persian Gulf War was because Iraq had invaded Kuwait. Kuwait used to be under control by the British from the 18th century until 1899. In 1961 Britain granted Kuwait independence. Iraq repeated a claim saying that Kuwait had been governed as part of an province in southern Iraq and was consequently rightfully Iraq's. Iraq's claim had little historical basis, however, and after intense global pressure Iraq recognized Kuwait in 1963. On the other hand, there were infrequent fights along the border of Kuwait and Iraq. This made the relationship between the two countries tense and sometimes hostile. On the 2nd of August 1990, Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait and rapidly held control of Kuwait. A couple of days after the invasion of Kuwait, the U.S and the U.N, ordered Iraq's immediate withdrawal. The United States and along with the U.N and other nations had began starting to deploy troops in Saudi Arabia within the week. This was the formation of the coalition force which was to be controlled by the U.N’s authority. The reason why the coalition forces went to war was because there was an agreement between the U.N and Iraq over territory. The agreement stated that if the Iraqi’s didn’t meet the terms the U.N was allowed to send in a force to subdue the invading Iraqi’s. As seen the Iraqi’s didn’t hold there side of the agreement so hence the war started. The countries that were involved in the coalition force were: The United States: 575,000 troops (Operation Desert storm), Saudi Arabia: 52,000 troops Turkey: 50,000 troops United Kingdom: 43,000 troops (Operation Granby (UK version of Desert Storm)) Egypt: 35,000 troops Syria: 16,000 troops France: 14,663 troops (Opération Daguet (French version of Desert Storm)) Kuwait: 7,000 troops Pakistan: 5,500 troops Canada: 4,500 troops (Operation FRICTION (Canadian version of Desert Storm)) Spain: 3,000 troops United Arab Emirates: 2,000 troops Morocco: 2,000 troops Bangladesh: 2,000 troops Australia: 1,800 troops Army, Navy and RAAF,(Operation Habitat (Australian version of Desert Storm)) Qatar: 1,000 troops Oman: 950 troops Italy: 800 troops Niger: 500 troops Bahrain: 200 troops Senegal: 200 troops. Czechoslovakia: 200 troops Netherlands: 200 troops Honduras: 150 troops Argentina: Ships: “Almirante Brown” and “Spiro”, (supervise waters near Kuwait) Denmark: Ships: (to supervise waters near Kuwait) Norway: Ships: (supervise waters near Kuwait) Poland: Elite Polish unit (Operation Simoom (Polish version of Desert Storm)) Bulgaria: allowed use of its airspace to Coalition aircraft.
The main misinterpretation in the Gulf war is association between Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. Operation Desert Storm had began on the night of January 17, 1991. The U.S. used Tomahawk missiles, dropped bombs and used stealth airplanes to destroy key military targets. Desert Storm was the main air campaign that went for 39 days, with over a 1000 coalition sorties flown a day. On the 23rd of February 1991, President Bush offered Hussein an option to leave Kuwait. Hussein however still refused to leave Kuwait. This started a war on the ground. The Coalition forces had surrounded the remaining Iraqi army. This war had only lasted for 4 days. Then the Iraqi army was leaving Kuwait but when they were leaving they then had lit up 600 out of 1,000 Kuwait oil wells and this caused Kuwait to lose billions of dollars. Where as Operation Desert Shield that had started on August the 7th 1990 was built up of a Coalition force of 20 nations. The Coalition had began to build up weapons and deploy troops to the Persian Gulf. The United Nations set up a naval blockade to stop supplies on the way to Iraq. The U.N believed that this would force Hussein to leave Kuwait, however they did not leave. The main objective of Operation Desert Shield was to block the Iraqi army. Many countries also provided financial assistance and donated military hardware instead of fighting in the war. The U.S had asked Israel not to fight in the Gulf War even though there were bombs hitting Israel citizens. India had also helped in the war by giving military support to the United States in the nature of giving them refueling facilities that were situated in the Arabian Sea.

One Example of an ESX amp is the Q1202. With output ratings at 120 watts x 4 at 4 ohms,180 watts x 4 at 2 ohms, 360 watts x 2 at 4 ohms, 360 watts x 2 at 1 ohms, true mono 800 x 1 at 4 ohms. Those were very respectable numbers for the era. Unfortunatly ESX went bankrupt, the market at the time would not support their product. Still today these amps are sought after by car audio enthusiest and have a reputation of being some of the most flexible amplifiers ever released.

Piper Halliwell posesses the power of molecular combustion, also known as "blowing things up". This is an expansion of her first power, molecular immobilization, or freezing time. She first recieves this power in the season three episode Exit Strategy. She tries to freeze a watermelon in midair but blows it up instead, causing it to break over her head. Most of the time Piper uses her power to blow up demons, although most upper level demons are only injured.
