"The Whistler incident" refers to the February 2003 trip to Canada's Whistler Blackcomb ski resort by Tokyo-based bankers Simon Cubells and Baron Matthew von Patrick. Legend has it that at Dusty's Bar and BBQ House, the Baron asked the duty manager (known only as "Randy") what the previous record was for the largest bar tab spent in one night at the establishment. When Randy dusted off the bar's ledgers, he discovered that in 1987, George Soros and a client had drunk two bottles of 1987 Château Lafite Rothschild, placing the record at US$1,500. Cubells, who was a world-renowned connoisseur of cheap vodka, then surpassed the record by US$300 by ordering 400 sea breeze cocktails at US$4.50. Witnesses stated that a large number of these were spilled by the waitress ("Candy") when trying to deliver them to the bankers' table. Upon hearing that Soros' 16 year old record was about to be surpassed, Canada's finest ladies poured in to the bar. Despite the multitude of poontang on offer, nobody got laid. Pundits suggest that due to the consumption of a insanely large amount of cheap vodka over the first hour, neither Cubells nor von Patrick could actually speak when the flange arrived.

Jeremiah Conklin (August 30, 1634 – March 14, 1712), together with Nathaniel Baker and Abraham Schellinger, was one of the original settlers of Amagansett, the hamlet of East Hampton located on the eastern tip of Long Island. His father Ananias Conklin, and uncle John Conklin, were the first glassmakers in North America. Early Life[edit]Jeremiah was born on August 30, 1634, probably In Staffordshire or Nottinghamshire, England. Around the year 1638, Jeremiah joined his father, uncle, and mother in a journey to Salem, in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It is believed that Mary Lauder, his mother, died in Salem (now Peabody) no later than 1639, although her grave has not been located. The Conklins probably came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony under contract as glassmakers, and in 1640 they began what was the first glassworks in North America. According to Salem records, Ananias was granted, in 1638, a ten-acre plot for a glass factory; it is still known as "Glass House Field". This land was located on the original road from Salem to Boston, and is now Abbott Street, a residential section in Peabody. On May 18, 1642, John and Ananias were made freedmen of Salem and received more land. About that time they were also made freedmen of what is now Cambridge. In late April 1650, the Conklins and members of other Salem families, including Thomas Scudder, removed to Southold, New York. Shortly thereafter brothers Ananias and John parted ways when Ananias obtained an allotment of land in East Hampton, settling there with Jeremiah and the rest of his family about 1650, where he is thought to have owned the property now divided by Jefferys Lane. He shared the meadow on the north side of Hook Pond with Thomas Charfield, William Hedges, and Lion Gardiner, New York’s first English settler (1599 - 1663). Marriage[edit]In 1658, Jeremiah married Mary Gardiner in East Hampton. Mary Gardiner was the oldest daughter of Jeremiah’s neighbor, Lion Gardiner. She was the second European child born in Connecticut, at Saybrook on August 30, 1638. Her older brother, David (April 29, 1636 – July 10, 1689), was the first. Her younger sister, Elizabeth (September 14, 1641 - 1657), was the first English child born in New York, but died young of a fever brought on, she alleged, by the witchcraft of a neighbor. There is an amusing story about the marriage related in The Island by Robert Payne that suggests Lion Gardiner was not happy about his daughter’s choosing Jeremiah Conklin. “These were tragic years for Lion, who had lost Elizabeth and was soon to lose his daughter Mary. In the summer of 1658 Mary married Jeremiah Conkling, and this was another marriage he disapproved of. The Conklings were bottlers from Nottinghamshire. They were farmers and handymen, without large estates. He built Mary and her husband a dwelling house, but witheld the dowry of ten head of cattle he had given to Elizabeth. Then he sat down to write his will.”[1] Life in Amagansett[edit]In 1690, Jeremiah moved from East Hampton to Amagansett to a plot described as “One parcel of land more being eastward of the town in the woods by the plain, lying by the highway as men go to Napeake, containing seven acres more or less, and bounded southward by Napeake highway and westward by John Hiller, Senior’s land and north-eastward by the common land.” [2] The house he built in Amagansett in 1690 still stands, and was occupied by 10 generations of descendents until 1950. On one occasion in 1780 during the Revolution, a party of redcoats under Lieutenant Darby, well fortified with liquor, came to this house on their way to Montauk looking for deserters. First they called at Nathanial Baker’s house without doing much mischief. Then the soldiers moved on to Jeremiah Conkling’s, firing through the doors and windows. His two frightened children, Burnett and Polly, were bundled into the huge oven for refuge by their grandmother.” [3] Jeremiah died on March 14, 1712 and is buried in the Old South End Burial Ground, East Hampton, NY. Descendents[edit]The Conklin family is noteworthy in Long Island and American history, counting among its members sea captains, Revolutionary War heroes, and political figures such as Judge Alfred Conkling who was a U.S. Congressman and Minister to Mexico in 1852. One of the Conklins was captured by Captain Kidd, the pirate, on Long Island Sound in 1699 but later escaped. Another was last seen from a whaling ship, riding a whale’s back to his death. [4] Jeremiah’s great-great-great grandchild, Roscoe Conklin (October 30, 1829 – April 18, 1888) was a Republican Senator who built a powerful political machine in New York and came very near to being a Presidential candidate when Garfield was nominated. A statue of him stands in the southeast corner of Madison Square. References[edit]65.206.53.253 (talk) 16:15, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Ting Zhang is a vanguard of elderly entrepreneurship research. Entrepreneurship is often considered an activity for the young, but Dr. Zhang's concept of "elderly entrepreneurship" in a knowledge-based economy demonstrates the economic development potential embodied in the skilled human capital of older individuals and clearly demonstrates that entrepreneurship can be a lifelong activity (Feldman, 2008). Professor Zoltan Acs comments that Dr. Zhang's elderly entrepreneurship research "explores for the very first time the intersection of entrepreneurship and an aging society. The enduring human spirit is unleashed in full blossom and the results are exhilarating and promising for all of mankind" (Acs, 2008). Professor David Audretsch believes Dr. Zhang's research shows that "the elderly are the stealth entrepreneurs making a crucial contribution to jobs, growth and competitiveness" (Audretsch, 2008). Zhang’s research provides fresh and new insights into public policy issues regarding the aging of society, and suggests significant new approaches may be available to transform a part of the elderly dependent group into a highly productive one that not only creates jobs for its own but also for other younger persons in the labor pool (Stough, 2008). Professor David Wong adds that "[Dr. Zhang's research] does provide a glimpse of hope that the magnitude of the problem may be lessened" (Wong, 2008). Dr. Ting Zhang is a winner of Ewing Marion Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship grants, finalist title in the Charles Tiebout Prize for Regional Science, Public Policy Paper Competition by Virginia Department of Transportation, and several other awards, fellowships, grants, and honors. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from George Mason University, a M.A. from University of Maryland, and a B.A. from East China Normal University.

ISBN: 1-9333042-13-3. Media Citations[edit]1. The Mason Gazette, March 25, 2008: In the book, Elderly Entrepreneurship in the Aging Economy: It's Never Too Late, Zhang addresses seniors' propensity for entrepreneurship and the economic, labor and fiscal role of elderly entrepreneurship. Specifically, Zhang analyzes the labor and Social Security crises as they relate to the U.S. aging population and explains how elderly entrepreneurship is a viable approach to mitigate those crises and stimulate regional economic growth. In addition, she examines factors that move seniors to become entrepreneurs. "This book is meant to enhance public awareness of the existence, the significance and the formation of elderly entrepreneurship. It is never too late to think highly of elderly entrepreneurship, to rely on it for economic development," notes Zhang.
Zhang explains that with an aging population in the knowledge economy, elderly entrepreneurship becomes particularly meaningful. As baby-boomers age and many decide to take more entrepreneurial roles, Zhang believes it is important to examine the effect this move will have on Social Security, the labor force, and the economy. Zhang [took] the book’s message to Hawaii. At the 47th annual meeting of the Western Regional Science Association, February 17–20, on the big island of Hawaii, Zhang [presented] her paper “The Role of Elderly Entrepreneurship in Metropolitan Economic Growth,” which won the finalist title, along with two others, in the highly competitive Charles Tiebout Prize for Regional Science.
Why did you focus on the area of elderly entrepreneurship in your research? Facing the aging population and the resulted social, economic, and fiscal impacts, I believe the elderly can be an active group contributing to the economy instead of being treated as a burden. Also, the elderly deserve a better life with more respect and confidence. To achieve this, elderly entrepreneurship is a starting point due to two reasons: (1) there are many factors encouraging the elderly to be entrepreneurs; and (2) seniors are typically excluded from the connotation of entrepreneurship. How will you utilize the 15k award? It will be used for academic activities related to my research of entrepreneurship. Are there other resources at Mason that are helping you to conduct your research? Absolutely. First of all, my professors motivation and their high quality of research are the precondition for my progress in the dissertation research. The School of Public Policy offers a highly entrepreneurial environment for innovative ideas, research, and even practice. The enormous help and training from my dissertation committee members and my colleagues at the School of Public Policy have been very helpful from extracting data to discussing methodologies. In addition, the Uddevalla Entrepreneurship Research Conference last year and the annual Mason Entrepreneurship Research Conferences offer great insights on current research into entrepreneurship. What kind of impact do you think your research can or will have? I hope to eventually publish a book that can call for the public attention on developing and encouraging the elderly entrepreneurship for our economy and for our seniors.
Zhang says she has been very interested in the welfare of the elderly, particularly now as baby-boomers age and many decide to take more entrepreneurial roles. Her research examines the impact age has on elderly entrepreneurship and whether elderly entrepreneurship impacts Social Security, the labor force and/or the regional economy. Zhang chose her topic after she recognized the entrepreneurial expertise among the faculty in Mason’s School of Public Policy, and knew she could count on their advice for her research. Her dissertation committee consists of professors Laurie Schintler, Zoltan Acs, Maryann Feldman, Roger Stough and David Wong. Zhang came to the United States after receiving her bachelor’s degree in English education/international commercial affairs from East China Normal University in 2001. She plans to have her research completed within the next two years and published sometime soon after. “Ting’s project deals with a very timely topic, but that was not the reason hers was selected,” says Robert Strom, director of research at the Kauffman Foundation. “There were far more than 15 worthy proposals, but the sheer quality of Ting’s proposal merited the award.” Strom says the Kauffman Foundation’s goal is to improve the quality of entrepreneurship research. By launching a cohort of world-class scholars into the field, the foundation hopes the students’ findings will have immediate application for policy makers, educators, service providers and entrepreneurs.
Zhang [...] has been very intereted in the welfare of the elderly, particularly now as baby-boomers age and many decide to take more entrepreneurial roles. her research examines the impact age has on elderly entrepreneurship and wheher elderly entrepreneurship impacts Social Security, the labor force and/or the regional economy.

Field of Membership[edit]FORUM is available to people who live or work in Central Indiana or who work for a company (Select Employee Group) that offers FORUM to their employees. History[edit]FORUM Credit Union was established as Hoosier Federal Credit Union in 1941 by the employees of Indiana Bell Telephone Company. There were no credit union employees, but instead the credit union’s work was done by volunteers and assistance from the telephone company who “loaned” its employees to the credit union. A vacant broom closet was the site of the credit union’s operations. Eventually, the credit union was able to move out of the Indiana Bell facility to its own location in the Chamber of Commerce Building in downtown Indianapolis. In the 1960’s, the Credit Union was renamed Telco Federal Credit Union and became the first credit union in the state to use data processing. During the early 1970’s, the credit union realized the need for additional office space and purchased a plot of land at 116th & I-69. In 1976, Telco Federal moved into its first owned (not leased) facility, which comprised both the corporate offices and the Fishers branch. The branch featured the credit union’s first drive-up facilities. In the early 1980’s, the NCUA, the current Federal regulator for credit unions, made a policy interpretation change to the Federal Credit Union Act and allowed Federal credit unions to serve any employee or association group who did not currently have a credit union. The policy made it possible for small employer groups to offer the credit union to their employees. In 1991, Telco Federal moved its corporate offices into a new facility and opened a separate Fishers branch. Both are located at 116th Street and I-69 in Fishers. The early 1990’s also saw Telco Federal become involved in the shared branching network that allowed its members access to four additional branches around the city with extended weekday hours, drive-ups, and Saturday hours. During the summer of 1995, Telco introduced the debit card and CU Online, the credit union’s PC based account access and bill payment service. Telco Federal was the first financial institution to introduce a Windows based version of home banking software. During the fall of 1996, two major events in the history of the credit union occurred. The first event was felt industry wide. The banking industry scored a major legal victory in its fight to end the open membership policy of the NCUA. A Federal appeals court reversed a lower court’s decision, and an injunction was filed against all Federal credit unions prohibiting them from adding new members from current SEGs and from adding new SEGs unless it met their core common bond. It was at this time FORUM executive management and the Board of Directors made the decision to convert to a state chartered credit union. (Indiana credit union law has no such provision requiring a common bond.) In April of 1997, Indiana Telco Federal Credit Union officially changed its charter to a state charter and became Indiana Telco Credit Union. The second major event in the fall of 1996 was the opening of the first electronic branch on the circle in downtown Indianapolis. The Monument Circle Branch was the first fully automated branch to be opened in the Midwest. In May 2000, due to the increasing number of non-telephone industry members, the Board of Directors elected to change the credit union's name to FORUM Credit Union. In July 2007, FORUM reached $1 billion in assets. Another important development at this time included the merger between Central Indiana Schools Federal Credit Union and FORUM Credit Union. Most recently, FORUM opened its first branch inside a grocery store, Kroger Signature, located at Hazel Dell Crossing and 146th street in Noblesville, Indiana.

Colonel William Fitzhugh, born in Bedford, England about 1650, son of Henry Fitzhugh of Bedford, a prominent English woolen merchant. William Fitzhugh, a youngest son, and an honorary Colonel in the Stafford County, VA militia, arrived in America and achieved notoriety as an attorney in the Jamestown Assembly (House of Burgesses). Colonel William Fitzhugh was the great grandfather of William Fitzhugh of Chatham. He started one of the American branches of the Fitzhugh family that became one of the First Families of Virginia which married into the early Carter, Randolph, Custis and Lee families. Fitzhugh experimented with a variety of businesses and entrepreneurial exploits, including but not limited to tobacco farming. Over the years he owned over 50,000 acres in the Virginia’s Northern Neck, with over half of his holdings at his death being his Ravensworth Plantation (named after an ancient family farm in England) in present day Fairfax County. Ravensworth was the largest single parcel of land ever granted by King Charles II in Northern Virginia (approximately 28,000 acres). For the majority of his life in America, William Fitzhugh established his family at “Eagles Nest”, a prosperous tobacco plantation he built on the south banks of the Potomac River in King George County, Virginia. Eagle’s Nest had over a thousand acres and a commanding view of the Potomac River. The property consisted of a dwelling house with 13 rooms, a dairy, dovecote, stables, barns, and kitchen, and an apple orchard of over 2,000 trees. A mile from Eagle’s Nest was a large grist mill owned by the family. Other farm properties were named using past family names, places, and connections: Bedford, Boscobel, Bellaire, Fitzhughburg, Marmion, and Ravensworth. Perhaps one of the only and most interesting first hand depictions of William Fitzhugh’s personal life was described in a travel journal by a French traveller after a visit to remote Northern Virginia at Christmas, 1686. Monsieur Durand, a Huguenot gentleman who was travelling with his valet, was partially motivated by a desire to find land in which his religious compatriots in Europe might come to settle. William Fitzhugh, sometimes called the “Colonel” for his involvement with the Stafford County militia, had, at about this time, offered up some of the landholdings at Ravensworth Plantation (in the vicinity of present day Annandale/Springfield) for sale or lease to various Huguenot immigrants. Durand wrote of his visit to Eagle’s Nest on Christmas Eve: “We rode twenty strong to Colonel Fichous’, but he has such a large establishment that he did not mind. We were all of us provided with beds, one for two men. He treated us royally, there was good wine, and all kinds of beverages and imported foods, so there was a great deal of carousing. The Colonel had sent for three fiddlers, a jester, a tight rope dancer, and an acrobat that tumbled around, and they gave us all the entertainment that one could wish for. It was very cold, yet no one ever thought of going near the fire, for they never put less than a whole cartload of wood in the fireplaces and the whole room is kept warm....The next day, we decided to cross the great river (Potomac). The Colonel had a quantity of wine and one of his best punch bowls brought down to the shore to help send us off, he also lent us his boat for the crossing”. William Fitzhugh had many personal interests including commercial farming, world affairs, ship building and commerce, mining, architecture, writing, and art: his was one of the earliest of the colonial Virginia families that had portraits painted of family members to decorate their plantation homes. Records show that he was an avid reader- and that he brought to Virginia an extensive library of books, and is said to have written and published several himself on Virginia Law and the History of the Virginia Colony. Although his sons were said to have been sent to England for their educations, over the years he campaigned heavily for the establishment of the College of William and Mary, now the oldest institution of higher education in America. In the Library of Congress there exists today a letter book: copies of the extensive written correspondence of William Fitzhugh-and which gives important insight into life in the seventeenth century and the early years of Northern Virginia. “The Fitzhugh Letters” as they later have become known, preserve some 212 letters from William Fitzhugh to his family in England, legal clients, business associates, and friends.

The four processes can be assessed in a test battery, the Das-Naglieri Cognitive Assessment System (Naglieri & Das,1997; Naglieri, 1999). These tests have been used for understanding, assessment, and intervention in regard to educational problems (mental retardation, reading disability, autism, and attention-deficit), cognitive changes in aging, and decision making in management (Das, Kar & Parrila, 1996). Links to General Intelligence Contemporary theories about intelligence can be divided into two classes, psychometric and cognitive. The quantitative approach to intelligence is better reflected in psychometric theories of which Spearman’s is an early example. In contrast, cognitive theories such as PASS theory are both qualitative and quantitative. Following Spearman, and even his predecessor, Galton, Jensen (2006) is perhaps the chief advocate of general intelligence or “psychometric g” as it is described in current literature. Another psychometric approach is Carroll's (1993) theory. It is a proposal for three strata comprising narrow abilities, broad abilities and a general ability like Jensen’s psychometric g. The trouble with such psychometric studies is that they are based on a set of tests without any clear idea of what these tests should be in the first place. Cognitive processing theories of intelligence, in contrast, have a common base in cognition. Such theories advance the idea that intelligence has multiple categories. For example, both Sternberg and Gardner view intelligence as neither a single nor biologically determined factor, but as a number of domains that represent the interaction of the individual’s biological predispositions with the environment and cultural context. PASS theory is a further advance in this direction (Das et al., 1994). Even the new rendering of 'g' as 'speed' as a sign of overall intelligence is not very useful because it ignores two major components that determine intelligence according to cognitive theories. These components are knowledge base and recognition of specific cognitive processes such as those in PASS. Links to Brain Activity It is useful to link PASS processes to the brain. The core ideas that cognitive functions can be organized in terms of broad functions of the brain received some support in a recent study (Okuhata et al.) that investigated the psychophysiological basis of two different types of information processing (simultaneous and successive). We investigated EEG coherence patterns during six tasks of Das-Naglieri Cognitive Assessment System (Naglieri & Das, 1997). We analyzed beta (12.5 – 25Hz) coherence while 18 volunteers performed three simultaneous and three successive tasks. The results revealed two significantly distinguishable coherence patterns corresponding to simultaneous and successive processing. The linking of PASS processes to brain becomes helpful, for example, in understanding the loss of sequential and planning functions due to aging in a study of individuals with Down’s Syndrome. In this study, using Single Positron Emission Tomograpphy, Das (2003) found that aging individuals with Down Syndrome show a bilateral decreased cerebral blood flow in the temporal-parietal region of the brain. The significance of brain studies awaits further discussion in the broader context of the biology of intelligence. Sources[edit]Carroll, J.B. (1993). Balance kiteboards 1-a KITES. Two brothers, Bruno Legaignoux and Dominique Legaignoux, from the Atlantic coast of France, developed some kite designs for kitesurfing in the late 1970s early 1980s and patented a inflatable kite design in November 1984, which has since been used by many companies to develop their own products. There´s a theory about development of modern day kitesurfing by the Roeselers in the USA and the Legaignoux in France carried on in parallel to buggying. Bill Roeseler, a Boeing aerodynamicist, and his son Corey Roeseler patented the "KiteSki" system which consisted of water skis powered by a two line delta style kite controlled via a bar mounted. 1-b BOARDS. We are talking about the birth of boards specifically designed for kiteboarding. While the Roesler´s went to a water ski concept, the Legaignoux went to a more classical surfboard design to develop, just ading footstraps like in a windsurf board. Twintips arent credited to become popular until 2001. After the realease of the very first buyable inflatable kite in 1997, there were also two groups of people developing boards The eropeans leaders: Christopher Tasti and Franz Orly , and the american leaders: Lou waiman and Elliot Leboe. This is very significant as the americans evolved kiteboard twintips from an actual wakeboard, but the boards we are riding today are not an evolution from this early wakeboards, being this a comonly acepted mistake. They may look similar and also we call the new style of kite riding ¨power style¨ ¨wake style¨, but the current twintips evolved from a totally different aproach, developed by the french. Circa 98 Orly-Tasti apeared in Tarifa, the european kiteboarding Meca. They were interested about creating a ¨snowboard¨ kiteboard concept. They aproached one of the Tarifa´s typicall custom workshops and asked Simon Harvey (Shapes at that moment) And asked to build the board through their specifications. This was the birth of this totally new board concept, resulting in a 180-190 twin ellipticall board with tipycall surfboard thicknes .From this point and in about 2 months almost every workshop in tarifa had copied the new concept, twin board with 4 small fins and 2 footstaps, making it really easy jibing and riding, a fundamental step helping lots of people learning this new sport. From this moment evolution begun, this design inspired workshops around the globe, specially Europe, South Africa, and New zealand. Tarifa followed its natural evolution in the twin concept, and boards got shorter to 160 cm in a, year still maintaining the same ellipticall outline and overall volume decreased. At the age of 12 Rider Alvaro Onieva was already kiting and boards were huge for his size-weight. We decided to cut the classic 160cm elliptical shape into 120cm with straigt cuts on he tips and decreasing volume of the overall board again. It was 2000-2001, now the shape was similar to a wakeboard but with a different rocker being flatter and narower. Boards were a lot lighter than US Kiteboards that still had bindings. On 2002 the 2nd SKY RIDE was held on the Kiteboarding Meca, construction had evolved into sandwich snowboard inspired type formica-fiber developed by a french workshop called ¨Radical¨. Boards got smaller thinner and stronguer. Robby Naish ordered a custom board on NO WORK TEAM Tarifa to bring with him to Hawaii after the event Sky Ride being the next year the first that big companies introuced modern twin shape . Balance board designer and creator of the riders driven company ¨idea¨ Carlos Sáez, was an avid windsurfer-surfer-snowboarder. Coming from a family of boat engineers and sailboat racers. Started windsurfing at age 7 and studied science of sport at university Gran Canaria. Living in Pozo Izquierdo and competing and testing for windsurfing brands and magazines. Moved to Tarifa in 2001, and started training some athletes , experimenting great succes as being the first developing profesional training for kiteboarding athletes. (Some names: Onieva who became European Champion, Mallory de la Villemarqué who became French champion, and Silvester Ruckdashel who got German champion .) They were one of the first to hang kite bars on trees as a method of training different bar passes in 2003-04. Right after the space monkeis revolution. The training squad was testing and helping to develop new rockers and outlines for their boards, pushing the envelope really hard ,they were needing fast improbements to evolve at the same pace the manouvers were doing so boards were realy important to get the necesary pop, speed and upwind capabilities to perform more tricks per heat. After some years redefining this developments and ideas with workshops, just to get the ultimate freestyle competition weapons to improbe performance, a bunch of the best ranked kite riders on the planet decided to do something about this. Now they were going to lead their own evolution ,that was linked to the core of the sport itself. The name of BALANCE was choosen to represent them as the balance, is the root and the key to improbe at any glide related sport. Finding someone´s own balance is the same than finding control, armony, and succes. Some riders that have used The balance branded kiteboards during a heat at an kiteboard world cup event (PKRA) are:Alvaro Onieva -Spain , Silvester Ruckdashel-Germany , Mikael Schitzhofer-Austria , Mikael Blomvall-Sweden , Petr Tyushkevich-Russia , Sebastien Cattelan-France , Bruna Kajiya-Brasil , Karolina Winkowska-Poland , Steve Verelst-Belgium , Gonzalo Gomes-Portugal , Rui Meira-Portugal , Julian Hosp-Austria , Bas Koole-Netherlands , Pepe Pinho-Brasil . Early Life[edit]Jake Danner was born in 1995 in a log cabin. Jake Danner had a pretty plain life, until he was 8 years old. Once Jake Danner turned 8 something amazing happened to him that changed his life, he was bitten by a monkey. On May 27th. 2003, Jake Danner was On a trip to the zoo with his mom dad and little brother. On that day, a monkey escaped from its cage. Jake Danner was bitten while watching the elephant show. The saliva from the monkey seeped into his skin and he became half monkey, half retard. Present Day Jake Danner[edit]Jake Danner is now in 8th grade, at the bottom of his class. John is also a New York Times bestselling author of "Having it All" and "The Answer: Grow any Business, Achieve Financial Freedom, and Live and Extraordinary Life." Today, John will talk about the power of visualization to achieve success in life and business... Professional athletes and other highly successful people use the power of visualization technique on a regular basis. Why? Results of a 20-year study of the effects of visualization on results revealed an amazing discovery. Humans see pictures on the screen of the mind when thoughts are being processed; i.e. when they think of things. For example, if a person, let’s say, George Right, stopped doing what he was doing right now, closed his eyes and thought of his car. What would he see? Is it the word CAR that pops up on the screen of his mind or a visual image? Mentally, here's what is actually happening... George is accessing a memory from his mind that was instilled while he was first learning what a "car" is. Then specifically, his present car popped up. He didn't always know it was called a car. Similarly, other humans associate names with images or other forms of stimuli as a way to refer back to them in the mind. And here's an example of why this simple talent is so important. Let’s go back to George for a moment. When he goes to find his car after he’s been at a shopping mall, all he is focusing on is finding the image that he has inside his head for his car. He quickly scans the parking lot and with lightning speed eliminates all other cars until he finds the familiar one that he is focused on. With this example in mind, here is a behind-the-scenes look at how to use visualization to achieve any goal. * Visualize an outcome you want over and over again to build 'cells of recognition' in your memory bank, just like you may have had with a car or other learned object when you were younger. This serves in the following two ways. * First: you become consciously and acutely aware of everything that can help you achieve the visualized outcome that you desire. (Just like looking for a car). You quickly scan over anything that is not in tune with that image. When you continuously focus on an image in your mind, every cell in your body is involved in that image and you vibrate and resonate with everything that is in harmony with that frequency both on a physical and non-physical level. This frequency moves you towards, and moves everything that is needed towards you, for the manifestation of the desired image. * Second: you impress an idea into the subconscious part of you, it eventually becomes 'fixed' and you automatically attract and move towards that which you desire. The reason athletes practice visualization is because they want to condition their mind in such a way that the body automatically behaves the way they want it to without effort. It is the only way to become 'unconsciously competent'. The same is true for highly successful people. If they visualize the success they want over and over again, eventually their bodies will automatically do whatever it must to make the image a physical reality. The outside world is a mirror image of the inside and hidden mental world. Unfortunately, very few people have really taken the time to learn this side of their personality. And that is unfortunate because this is the part that is so powerful. To visualize is to direct unseen energy into an orderly vibration and that is what is needed to manifest desires of the inner self. Desires must first be created in thoughts and then they are created in ' real life'. Humans are the sum of what they think about and focus on most.
