The result was redirect‎ to Roman–Persian Wars. Consensus is to remove the article. More favor deletion. WIth just enough redirect support and one clearly stated opposition, the less destructive option of redirect seems useful. Doczilla _{Ohhhhhh, no!} 09:37, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not yet justify its own existence independent of either Roman–Persian Wars (A-class) or any of the individual articles it merely transcludes material from. Oppose no reason to delete the article, it highlights an important time period unrelated to the classical Roman Empire, in fact such an article should have appeared a long time ago and here it is. The problem with transferring content can be solved in another way without deleting the article.

Support deletion Each of the wars in the primary topic already have their own respective WP:SPINOUT articles. I see no reason why they need to have 3 or more articles to cover the same topic. This is how contradictory editing and presentation proliferates, and quality degrades.

There's also a "List of Greco-Persian Wars#Byzantine Empire" article that's been created in July 2024. So that makes four or more articles for each topic, respectively. This article is also problematic because it deviates from Greco-Persian Wars, which refers to the pre-Roman wars between Greeks and Persians. I request this article also be deleted. The relevant table lists may be included within the "Roman–Persian Wars" and "Greco–Persian Wars" articles. DA1 (talk) 13:25, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update Looks like the page was previously merged through consensus following a discussion that spanned February 2019 to April 2020. There's no point re-opening this discussion so soon, given no major changes to the subject. It needs to be reverted to what the last consensus was (Pinging Iveagh Gardens, GPinkerton). Delete or Redirect to Roman–Persian Wars as the status quo. This article was recently created by removing the redirect to Roman–Persian Wars, perhaps to push a POV? In any case it's redundant and duplicating an existing topic and should not exist as an article. - Ratnahastin (talk) 00:57, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete (Redirect back to Roman–Persian Wars): The "Byzantine-Sasanian Wars" are not treated as conflicts separate from the "Roman-Persian Wars" by scholars - Byzantium was the Roman Empire, the Sasanians were the Persian Empire.
