CK Morgan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View log · Stats)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

Promotional article created by and primarily edited by SPAs; only sources consist of press releases reprinted in secondary sources of questionable reliability. Doesn't even come close to meeting the requirements of WP:ENT. Coretheapple (talk) 18:35, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Userify. I've found that a large portion of the content of this article is not verifiable, in large part because a Google search doesn't present any reliable sources. Joe SchmedleyT* 21:44, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Note also that Barbarajohnson1 seems to be creating multiple articles with similar titles, so maybe the article title needs to be salted should it be deleted. Joe SchmedleyT* 21:40, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thinking about this some more, it seems that the article is of questionable verifiability and notability, but I don't want to rule out the possibility of it being improved further, so userifying under User:Barbarajohnson1 would be a less radical solution. Joe SchmedleyT* 20:01, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • I'm not explicitly against moving the article to userspace but where? Who is going to bring the article up to snuff and is there any indication that the subject will be notable in the near future? I'd rather not have a WP:FAKEARTICLE sitting around userspace of a user who doesn't understand our policies and guidelines, doesn't clearly state that they're going to bring the article up to snuff, and may not even have that kind of control based on the lack of notability of the subject of the article. I'd support moving the article to userspace if someone just needed to do a little work but I don't think that's a possibility here, let alone probable. Raykyogrou0, that argument doesn't really bring anything to an AfD. Please check out WP:ASSERTN. OlYeller21Talktome 17:32, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Based on content in the article, WP:GNG, WP:MUSBIO, WP:ANYBIO, and WP:ARTIST would apply. Subject seems to fail WP:GNG with no hits in a Google News search or a Google News Archive search. Outside of that, I couldn't find any indication that the subject has played a major role in affecting or changing his industry. While I did find significant coverage from modernghana.com, all of those sources are written by the same person and I'm having trouble assessing the reliability of that source since one of the articles mentions that he's signed to Atlantic Records and that doesn't appear to the be true. Also, if the source is reliable, and if we take WP:GNG literally, it requires significant coverage from independent and reliable sources (sources is pluralized) and this is only one source. If he is signed to Atlantic, he doesn't have multiple albums published under that label to satisfy point 5 of WP:MUSBIO. I also don't see any evidence of being on a major tour or winning a major award. OlYeller21Talktome 17:32, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, I don't see any evidence at all that this person meets any of the WP:MUSIC notability criteria. Lankiveil (speak to me) 11:39, 12 January 2014 (UTC).[reply]
  • Delete Although I'm a little more generous when it comes to musicians from non-high-profile countries, this one still fails WP:NMUSIC. Also getting extremely frustrated with the continual re-creation of these spammy articles about this person by the editor - having a Wikipedia article does NOT help someone's career and one does not become encylopedic until one actually has a notable career. I smell a block in the very near future, unfortunately ES&L 12:22, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • at the end of the day if this article gets deleted no problem feew months yall will see some changes and still dont understand we added some referene but still saying it doesnt match it all we had this page since august or september with no problems why out of sudden now just because i tried to make a page in german or the rnbsinger this dont make any sense but hey its alright not gonna be argueing with anyone do whatever you wanna do with this article thank you your sincerely barbara --Barbarajohnson1 (talk) 12:37, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • who said this was a promotional article the fact that you guys have time to comment some innapriopiate comment shows that you dont have anything to do , we have added reference so i think that should be enough stop the hating and get your facts right — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barbarajohnson1 (talkcontribs) 12:28, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • first of all how can he have an album puplished when his first debut Album aint even out yet that dont make sense at all and just cause his name is not on the router doesnt mean his not signed remmeber his an upcoming artist not a popular artist get it right — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.223.91.102 (talk) 10:06, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I can't stress enough how much you guys aren't helping this discussion. This deletion discussion has nothing to do with promotional issues. I'd like to help you as much as I can so here's what I'll need to be able to help you: Find news articles about CK Morgan. If you can't find them, leave any info you might have here on my talk page. Otherwise, the comments you're leaving will continue to have no value, will continue to be ignored, and will continue to do nothing to keep the article from being deleted. In any case, if the article is deleted, it can always be brought back once notability can be established. OlYeller21Talktome 17:44, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question. This gentleman appears to be Ghanaian, or at least of Ghanaian origins. Most of the sources in the article also appear to be Ghanaian. Has anyone actually notified WP:WikiProject Ghana of this discussion? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 00:09, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To get sources that the COI editor, obviously the subject of the article or his rep, is not aware of? Coretheapple (talk) 13:47, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, possibly that too. But also out of common courtesy; because it is our standard practice here; and perhaps to get a better evaluation of the various Ghanaian sources in the article. The obvious COI and the antics of editor Barbarajohnson1 should not prevent us from determining Morgan's notability (or lack thereof) with care. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:20, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Standard practice to notify wikiprojects of deletion discussions? No way. He was born in Ghana but moved as a child to the U.S. and is now based in Germany. It is not necessary to post notices in every possible venue, which in this case would include ethe German and U.S. wiki projects as well as possible Wikiproject:Music, if there is such a thing and which would probably be the most relevant. Note: the subject of the article correctly points out that he was not even born in Ghana. Coretheapple (talk) 15:05, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

the last 2 comments dont even make sense at all we have already posted articles ck morgan was puplished on news1one newspaper just 2days ago so make your research probably and also we have posted all type of links smh , this discussion should be closed because to be honest the last 2 comments dont even make sense what we need to do is to help us improve this article better so it can be kept nice and smooth --Barbarajohnson1 (talk) 15:08, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't Delete: This article shouldn't be deleted, I may say the creator of the article might be a beginner. Well after a series of Google search. I will say the article under discussion is notable in Ghana. If given the opportunity I can collaborate with the creator clean up and add references to it. Thanks. →Enock4seth (talk) 12:40, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The subject of the article has provided every conceivable source over the long period of time this article has been nominated for deletion, and it hasn't moved this article even one inch closer to meeting the notability standards for musicians.
