Non-notable organization. Honestly this looks like Spam. And why is this article called East Orlando, Florida?? I followed a link on the Hurricane Charley page thinking it was an article for a geographical standpoint. Delete. Stubbleboy 05:49, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Also please note that another article created by the same user John Tenney has also been listed for afd review. Stubbleboy 06:31, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I can't tell if Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leaders of East Orlando is an afd page or not. I guess the last page Leaders of East Orlando must have been speedied?? Stubbleboy 06:46, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I could tell that it was not an AfD and have deleted it. An article Leaders of East Orlando has never existed. -- RHaworth 07:13, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Delete vanity.Gazpacho 06:00, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]- Comment: TruthbringerToronto asked me to take another look. Although this place does not appear on the national map and is not recognized by the county, it does have a chamber of commerce and a newspaper [1]. Not an "official" place, but it seems to exist in the lives of the locals. I'll think about it. Gazpacho 06:28, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Yes and isn't it quite odd that I recently opposed his promotion in his RFA today?? Stubbleboy 06:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm sure everything he does on Wikipedia revolves around you. Gazpacho 07:39, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Per the article: "The name East Orlando is not currently recognized as an official area designation in Orange County, but is used by an advocacy group, The Leaders of East Orlando". This means the article as it is is about a non-notable political organization. WP:NOT a soapbox and there is no indication of any press coverage or other indication of notability. The area of East Orlando, if there is such a thing (they do seem to have a chamber of commerce), might well be worth an article, but this is not it. If kept, rename to The Leaders of East Orlando or similar. (Disclaimer: I'm the original prodder and was notified about this AfD by the nominator.) Sandstein 07:20, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Orlando, Florida. Even if it's not an official designation for anything, it's clearly a plausible way to refer to the eastern reaches of Orlando, Florida itself. --CharlotteWebb 14:05, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Question: How notable is the movement? News coverage? Etc. ? — ERcheck (talk) 17:04, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep there is notable news coverage in the orlando sentinel - and the movement has financial backing - I considered nominating for deletion about a month ago - but started here and decided against it --Trödel 22:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete vanity article. Appears to be a lobby group and "is not currently recognized as an official area designation". Ohconfucius 03:47, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
