There was an opinion voiced here that this embassy is notable. Rather than risk having the entire mass nomination derailed, I’ve decided to split off this one. Naturally, I disagree that it’s notable: a couple of bomb scares and a security boost — something common to pretty much all US embassies — do not make for a notable building; they’re entirely routine coverage. — Biruitorul ^Talk 22:28, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep I've expanded the article and it now focusses on the embassy building and its predecessors. The current building was purpose-built in 1977. Unfortunately, there's only a South Island newspaper (The Press) available online; none of the Wellington papers are accessible. Still, The Press had quite decent coverage when the new building was dedicated on 3 July 1977. User:Kiwichris, if you happen to be at the National Library over the next few days, would you mind having a look how the Wellington newspapers reported on the event?
