The result was keep. I also see a very generic deletion nomination statement that could be used with just about any article, it lacks any specificity. It doesn't demonstrate that a BEFORE had been done by the nominator before proposing deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 02:54, 6 September 2024 (UTC)

Not notable on his own. Fails GNG. Perhaps could be merged into a list but, not notable on his own. NeoJade Talk/Contribs 02:45, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

- Keep. Passes WP:Prof#C6. Xxanthippe (talk) 04:39, 30 August 2024 (UTC).
- Keep. We don't often invoke WP:PROF in relation to historical academics but that's because WP:PROF is a modern guideline and historical academics rarely pass it. However, when they do, I think it is OK to invoke it, as is the case here. Litten was a rector of the University of Königsberg, one of the older and quite important universities in Europe, founded in 1544. So WP:Prof#C6 does apply here. There is also a plausible argument for passing WP:GNG/WP:BIO. Apart from the sources currently listed in the article, the German Wikipedia article lists more sources, including this biographical page about Litten [1] at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg; there is also apparently more info about him in this book [2]. - Keep. Satisfies GNG and criteria 6 of WP:PROF. James500 (talk) 18:55, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Clearly satisfies WP:PROF #6. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:40, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- Keep satisfying at least Cat6. It's not borderline, but even if it was, the risk of the creation of vanity articles goes down w/ time after death (significantly more once children and grandchildren have passed on). -- Michael Scott Asato Cuthbert (talk) 20:32, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
