The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar, neither for the fictional race, nor for the "Heechee series". I did find one source that offers a bit of hope that the latter may be notable, [1], although I find that text hard to parse, bordering on unreadable (seems to suffer from a heavy case of postmodernist syndrome...). Maybe someone else can find something to try to ressue this, but the odds are WP:TNT or at least major gutting/rewriting are in order (the article is unfortunately focused on the almost certainly-not-notable fictional alien race, instead of on the maybe-notable book series). _{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here} 18:12, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rename Gateway series, Heechee Saga or Heechee series. This is definitely a notable series/fictional universe. The article just needs a change of focus. See, for example, the Washington Post article "Gateway to a Wonder", Publishers Weekly ("Since it began with the novel Gateway (1977), Pohl's Heechee series has been among the most consistently daring of SF's continuing enterprises") and a fair bit in Pohl's entry in The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction. Rename & Cleanup - The series appears to be notable, per Clarityfiend, and the first couple sections of the article are definitely salvageable to keep as the basis of an article on an overview of it. If its renamed as suggested and all of the unsourced plot cruft that makes up the second half is removed, we're left with a workable stub article on the series.
