I've found several newspaper articles about his death in 1935 in the National Library of Finland archives. Seems like his death was widely covered in the Finnish media [1][2][3] Alvaldi (talk) 10:40, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep: Many of the criteria at WP:NSPORT include medalling at the Olympics, so even though there's not a specific guideline for sailing, I would argue that medaling at the Olympics. meets NSPORT. Since you're asking, we do have WP:NOLY, which says that medalists are likely to have coverage, except for events with less than four participants, and this event had four teams. The thought process behind nominating it for deletion is therefore understandable, but no apparent WP:BEFORE was conducted. Now that others have done the due diligence, it seems like the person was probably more notable for other things than the Olympic participation. Geschichte (talk) 17:02, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
