The subject likely falls short of both WP:NGRIDIRON and WP:SIGCOV. A previous PROD was declined last month by article creator. TJMSmith (talk) 02:51, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

- Delete my online search did not produce any promising results, and the sources in the article do not seem to be independent. Therefore, I believe this subject fails WP:GNG.--Paul McDonald (talk) 02:59, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. Fails WP:NGRIDIRON (did not play pro ball) and WP:NCOLLATH (no major awards, records -- D2 All-American doesn't do it), and WP:GNG (not finding the WP:SIGCOV needed). I did find some short blurbs (e.g., this, this and this) but nothing that reaches the GNG standard. Also some coverage from his high school playing career, e.g., this, but I discount such coverage per WP:YOUNGATH. Cbl62 (talk) 03:15, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- A further search turned up this piece of SIGCOV. If additional SIGCOV is brought forward, I will keep an open mind. Cbl62 (talk) 03:24, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete, albeit weakly. In addition to this source noted by Cb162, we'd need another source. I've been looking, and while I found out that he had a acting career, and I can find newspaper clippings from his high school days and on the fact that he tried out and signed with the Texans, but I can't yet find enough significant coverage to satisfy WP:BASIC. After Visser was Waived in 2009, there's almost zero coverage of him in newspapers archived by newspapers.com and those available on google search. I'm left to conclude that he's probably not notable, though another source (or two) might be able to change my mind. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 05:46, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete per above. The person never played in the NFL. LSGH (talk) (contributions) 12:03, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Not a reason to delete. Cbl62 (talk) 12:07, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Comment, coverage not listed above that I found in my search includes: FERRIS' JAKE VISSER TO INK FREE AGENT DEAL WITH NFL TEAM from Ferris-Pages.org; Jake Visser Secures "Touchback" Movie Role from FerrisStateBulldogs.com; Visser's Dream are Still Alive from The Ferris State Torch; From the gridiron to the big screen also from The Ferris State Torch; Excellence - Jake Visser from Ferris.edu; and Ferris State's Jake Visser Named D-II CCA "Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year" from Gliac.org. Though I'm not sure if any are independent. I also see another article on google (from The Holland Sentinel) that's titled "GVSU soccer player earns GLIAC's top academic honor" and the preview shows "Ferris State University football player Jake Visser received the men's honor. He is a Coopersville native." but I can't read further. BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:12, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- BeanieFan -- Your uncertainty about the sources is valid. Items published by Visser's college, the school newspaper, and the conference in which his school is a dues-paying member are not considered "independent" and thus are not given weight in the GNG analysis. Note also that the GLIAC item states that the content originates with "FSU Athletics Communications Department" -- thus clearly not independent. Cbl62 (talk) 16:20, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete, not enough to meet GNG in my opinion. BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:23, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

- Delete not enough reliable sources to establish notability per WP:NGRIDIRON and WP:GNG. Frank Anchor 16:54, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. Fails WP:NGRIDIRON, WP:NCOLLATH, and WP:GNG, per all above. Ejgreen77 (talk) 14:26, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. Per all above, not notable per WP:GNG or any of the relevant athlete-specific criteria. --Kinu t/c 21:30, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
