List of science fiction anime

Keep, most things that have "list of" can be catgorized by category. This list is no different. It is a NPOV list so I see no problem with keeping it. Valoem ^talk 13:57, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, there was a lot of anime that are not Sci-fi, such as Haibane Renmei and Peacemaker Kurogane, or may contain minor Sci-fi elements, such as ToHeart. To put it bluntly, the list was never really sourced and even when I was categorizing the list based on Anime News Network's database, there were disputes about ANN's accuracy and whether it was a reliable source. --TheFarix (Talk) 15:22, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Keep - "entire list" is not in the catagory - I counted 12 red links. As with all lists, it could be improved to better take advantage of the list format, but that's another matter. LinaMishima 17:19, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - ~~For a structured list we have List of anime.~~ For redlinks we have ~~List of anime and~~ Wikipedia:Requested articles/Japan/Anime and Manga. Since there are categories that duplicate the purpose of this list there is no need to have to maintain ~~multiple>~~ lists. Shiroi Hane 22:25, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as much less manageable than Category:Science fiction anime. What does this do that the category doesn't? Two things that I can see: hold redlinks (which are not supposed to be here, per the introduction), and contain cross-references for a handful of entries. I don't see that either justifies keeping a list that's even formatted to look like a category, largely duplicates a category, contains no additional information not present in the category for the vast majority of entries, and must be laboriously maintained, all the more so because the page's two-column design must be organised by hand. — Haeleth Talk 15:13, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment — I frequently see that "red link" argument in favor of keeping lists. But the red links could just as easily be added to the category page as a bulleted list, and they're already on the list of requested articles page.
