This article seems to consist almost entirely of original research based on primary sources and government documents. Salimfadhley (talk) 00:45, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

- Delete Seems well-written, unsure of the sources used, but not sure it's notable. Seems more like a high school essay. Oaktree b (talk) 02:04, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete I agree with Oaktree b, this is just an essay and not an encyclopedia article. I don't see how this can be improved, or if this is even needed since the topic may already be covered by other articles and sections within articles that are relevant to demographics in California.
WaddlesGobbles 🍂 🦃 03:05, 25 November 2021 (UTC) - Draftify This is the subject of a current wikiedu course that will end on December 3. I agree this doesn't belong here but I don't think deleting an article out from under a freshman comp course that is still in progress is the way to go. -- asilvering (talk) 05:25, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Even if this were draftified, it would have a 0% chance of becoming accepted without a total rewrite. The author is free to start a new draft but without making it an essay. Salimfadhley (talk) 12:07, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- I agree! But I also think we can wait two weeks for this class to be over. -- asilvering (talk) 15:59, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

- Delete per WaddlesJP13. From what I have seen with similar articles that were created based on course assignments, rarely does the article creator ever improve the article after the semester ends, so draftification would just be postponing the inevitable. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 09:21, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete: WP:NOTESSAY. Topic itself (immigration in California) is notable, but this essay does not belong on Wikipedia. That said, I think that the creator should be given a copy of the essay; it has been worked hard upon, and could help them somewhere in an assignment. JavaHurricane 15:36, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

- Comment -- The main focus appears to be Chinese immigration to California. If we do not have an article on that, this one could be repurposed for it, but its tone is not that of an encyclopaedic article. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:03, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- Comment – a previous version of this article was already draftified to Draft:The Life of Immigrants in California, so you can delete this page with a clean conscience. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 07:45, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
