- Merge with article on Mohammed Fuzuli. Vorbee (talk) 08:24, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Vorbee, you mean Fuzûlî? Edit: Redirect created. --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 12:04, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. I have left a pointer to this discussion at Talk:Fuzûlî, as I believe should be a required part of the AfD procedure whenever a merge is proposed in an AfD. —David Eppstein (talk) 13:28, 3 September 2018 (UTC)

- Keep. After peeking at the Azeri and Russian wikis, BEFORING (including the multiple images in google images, as well as web and book hits) - I am convinced this monumental 40 foot statue in the middle of a named square in a central location in Baku [1] most definitely passes GNG. I don't think merging to the namesake (who died 400 years prior to the statue) is appropriate. Peeking at List of the tallest statues in the United States and List of Confederate monuments and memorials and then back at this AfD makes me think of Wikipedia:Systemic bias.Icewhiz (talk) 12:52, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep. Icewhiz's comment above seems compelling to me. At the very least, a merge is surely appropriate. --Bsherr (talk) 18:15, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Withdrawing delete Icewhiz's argument is convincing. Rosguilltalk 18:49, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Rosguill, as the !votes aren't unanimous to keep, I think the discussion should nonetheless run its course. --Bsherr (talk) 19:04, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- But instead of your additional bold text above, I've just struck out your original rationale for clarity. Of course, feel free to make it your own. --Bsherr (talk) 19:05, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep per Icewhiz. But rename to Statue of Fuzûlî, Baku. That's the title of his article and it's probably not the only statue of him. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:44, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep per Icewhiz. James500 (talk) 15:03, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep: a major monument; the sculptors were awarded a prize, etc. Suggest moving to Statue of Fuzûlî; not sure if disambig is needed, since Wikipedia does not have any other articles on statues to Fuzûlî. K.e.coffman (talk) 09:52, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
