This artist might be notable as the father of Agathe Aladin. He is also long dead. I checked HighBeam and Newspapers.com for mentions and didn't find any. There are 3 minor book mentions at Google Books. Bbarmadillo (talk) 20:51, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

- Delete No claims of notability or importance made in the article and no independent reliable sources found during a search that offer significant coverage. Should this just be Speedy A7? There just aren't any good sources out there, and all the article says is that he was a painter, which applies to millions of people worldwide. 104.163.147.121 (talk) 23:26, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

- Keep His work is featured in the book The Vodou Box by Manuela Dunn Mascetti, and he's listed as a significant artist in Latin American and Caribbean Artists of the Modern Era: A Biographical Dictionary. According to WP:ARTIST, a person may be notable if their work "has won significant critical attention" and I think being featured in two books fulfills that requirement. - Weak Keep - I think this article is poorly written and it needs more work in adding new citations, and CE. I tried to help out today, in doing some of this. Seeing that this is an outsider artist from a developing country, it is not surprise to me that finding citations is harder than other artists (that doesn't mean they don't exist). However this artist has shown his work in international countries, appears in various galleries and in large art collections, which is somewhat notable in my opinion. - He is mostly the artist in pre-internet era, which makes it quite hard to decide. Especially coming from not one of the most developed countries. But I didn't find anything at all that may show at least something he's notable on national level. I would at least to see some local books in French mentioned, but nothing. I may be thinking about redirecting it to Agathe Aladin and adding a small section about him, since it's his most notable thing. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 11:55, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Keep An entry in a biographical dictionary suffices to establish notability. If the Latin American and Caribbean Artists of the Modern Era: A Biographical Dictionary has it, so should we. Vexations (talk) 20:51, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
