There is no evidence for "Zeila and Lughaya" being a region within its own right. Both are districts within Awdal as per Regions of Somaliland. Therefore, this page not meeting notability requirements as not a single citation states such a region exists. This issue has been highlighted in the talk page before but is yet to be actioned. - Weak keep It does appear this was created as a state in 2011 or 2012 and is referenced as a "clan-state" in some literature: [1] SportingFlyer T·C 13:16, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep The few sources I was able to open up seem to indicate that there is an entity with that name, or called Saylac and Lughaya. More research seems to be the key, but I'd like to keep in the hope that this article can be expanded with better sources.--Concertmusic (talk) 01:13, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

- Delete Both Zeila and lughaya are small towns in Somaliland, as stated no discussion in the talk page to challenge sources [2], sources on the article project an idea which never materialised Ciiseciise007 (talk) 12:41, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- Delete/redirect
CommentCould the keep votes that note sources provide links and/or quotes? I've found a few which discuss them as districts, but not as a combined entity. CMD (talk) 11:25, 17 December 2020 (UTC) Changed to delete, insufficient sourcing. CMD (talk) 04:35, 31 December 2020 (UTC)- Comment All sources cited refer to "Zeila" and "Lughaya" being towns in Awdal region - as per stated in the Regions of Somaliland page. Also, this government publication on Awdal state that both Zeila and Awdal alongside Baki and Borama are districts [[3]]. In none of the sources cited, is it claimed that there is such a region known as "Zeila and Lughaya". There is a mention in passing of "active efforts" to create a clan state such "Zeila/Lughaya State"alongisde others in [[4]]. However, this source also does not refer to it being a region. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jacob300 (talk • contribs) 18:04, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- [5] [6] [7] [8]. Some of those (the blogspot) clearly aren't WP:RS, but putting them here since piecing this together using only English language sources is proving difficult. SportingFlyer T·C 12:47, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Quite frankly the blogspot post seems the best there, although this is a really hard area to get sources on in the best of times. It suggests this purported entity was proposed/established/created as part of the same turmoil that brought about Awdalland, so it seems relevant for this AfD that the relatively recent Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Awdalland, while not widely participated in, led to a redirect. - Delete Per Jacob3000 and CMD, there is a dearth of reliable sources on a combined entity with this name, this falls short of WP:N and WP:V and should be deleted. --Kzl55 (talk) 19:33, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Zeila and Lughaya officially seceded from Somaliland, claiming to be a federal state of Somalia, here are a few factual citations President of Zaila and lughaya state State of Somalia, also here, here, here in additional to the existing citations that should be enough to show a pass or keep, although the article needs to be updated. SultanSanaag (talk) 18:24, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- Additionally, the map provided [11] merely shows Zeila District as per Regions of Somaliland and does not refer to a "Zeila and Lughaya state".
- Also, Google Scholar shows 3 search results for "Zeila and Lughaya" whereby all of which are unrelated to the article and discuss districts [12]. Moreover, Google Books similarly has 0 results on "Zeila and Lughaya" as an entity [13] Many thanks Jacob300 (talk) 12:46, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Delete No reliable sources mention any establishment or existence of such state. To answer @SultanSanaag, an amateur video clip of a party in Canada is not a source that can be used and fails to meet WP:RS. This article falls short of WP:N and WP:V and should be deleted.
