Preserved main line steam locomotive support in the United Kingdom (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://www.standard4.com/crew.html. 81.153.54.212 (talk) 17:34, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Probably the IP user should just have templated the section, rather than the article, as they only allege copyvio of that one section. I would remove the offending section but I can't see how to without removing the template... which it says I shouldn't do. Catch 22, no? GoddersUK (talk) 13:22, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, ordinarily I'd say that this is a good occasion for WP:IAR, GoddersUK , but self-evaluation is always crucial there. Copying is rather more comprehensive than that, unfortunately. :/ While the IP suggested it was one section, it actually starts in the lead (from the first words - "The support coach and crew are an essential part of the long distance operation of preserved steam locomotives in the United Kingdom on the main line network, as opposed to their use on heritage railways." - to the last: "The traditional water stop is 45 minutes, although the lack of available sidings and scheduling requirements often mean that short 'splash and dash' arrangements occur using road tankers, which can deliver 2,500 gallons in 12 minutes, using two pipes." Our only hope here is that this is a backwards copy. I'm going to look for that now. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:59, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, we're in luck. This change is reflected in the external source. So are [1], [2]. Plus other evidence, this looks good. :) I don't think we need to remove anything for copyright reasons from this source, anyway. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:12, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
